Description: Righthander Miguel Batista has agreed to a minor league contract with the Braves. Batista was cut by the Mets on Thursday.
Insight: Batista (1-3, 4.82 ERA) is headed to Triple-A Gwinnett, and at this point in his career (he turned 41 in February and is in his 18th season), it's possible that Batista has appeared in his final major league game.

Description: Mets righthander Miguel Batista has been designated for assignment following a subpar outing Saturday in a spot start against the Dodgers.
Insight: Batista (1-3) allowed four runs and five hits in three innings Saturday to raise his season ERA to 4.82. After Batista clears waivers, it's likely New York will send him to Triple-A Buffalo unless of course, he refuses the assignment and decides to become a free agent instead. Either way, it's doubtful that Batista will ever regain the form that made him a 16-game winner back in 2007.

Description: Batista pitched five shutout innings, allowing only three hits in a win over the Braves. He walked one and struck out six.
Insight: Batista made his first start of the season after Steven Strasburg was scratched from his scheduled start. He picked up his first victory of the season but will be back in the bullpen. (SportsBuff.com)

Description: Batista was awful on Friday. He gave up five runs on six hits and only recorded two outs.
Insight: Batista pitched pretty well in June (1.32 ERA despite a 1.70 WHIP), but all of those base runners have come around to score in July (10.13 ERA, 2.25 WHIP). The Mariners have other options in the bullpen and so should you. (SportsBuff.com)
