Description: Mariners general manager Jack Zduriencik said Tuesday that pitching prospect Danny Hultzen "should be" 100 percent for spring training according to MLB.com.
Insight: Hultzen is making his way back from rotator cuff surgery and threw his third and final instructional league outing Tuesday. He will be shut down until spring training. Hultzen was the No. 2 overall pick in 2011.
Description: Athletics catcher Geovany Soto left Tuesday\'s Wild Card game with a left thumb injury.
Insight: Soto suffered the injury on a tag at the plate in the first inning. He remained in the game one more inning, but told the coaching staff that he could no longer receive the ball behind the plate. Derek Norris takes over at catcher for the rest of the game.
Description: Mavericks guard Jameer Nelson looks like he has a slight edge over Raymond Felton and Devin Harris for the starting point guard role according to ESPN Dallas.
Insight: Felton is suspended for the first four games of the season and Harris is likely better as a player coming off the bench, so Nelson sort of wins the job by default. Either way, he is worth a look for fantasy owners in the late rounds.
Description: Pacers\' Solomon Hill joined George Hill, Rodney Stuckley, David West and Roy Hibbert on the floor for a portion of Tuesday\'s practice according to Scott Agness of VigilantSports.com.
Insight: The biggest reason for why Hill was out with the starters in practice Tuesday is probably because C.J. Miles was out with a calf injury. Hill does have sleeper potential as he shot 39 percent from 3-point land the last two years at Arizona, but he is still only fantasy relavant in very deep leagues.
Description: Rangers winger Carl Hagelin will top last year\'s 15 goals and 16 assists numbers.
Insight: We expect a lot from Hagelin, who is one of the fastest players in the NHL. There is a chance that he will play with Mats Zuccarello and Derick Brassard this year. If that happens, we like the combination of Haelin\'s speed and Zuccarello\'s grittiness to score a bunch of goals.
Description: Rangers left wing Mats Zuccarello had a breakout season last year, so now fans are wondering if he can repeat that success.
Insight: Zuccarello scored 19 goals and had 40 assists playing with Benoit Pouliot and Derick Brassard last season. He will again play with Brassard, but Pouliot left via free agency. The pair will likely be a part of the Rangers second line, but stay tuned because they could also end up in a checking-line role. Either way, Zuccarello is worth stashing on your team.
