Parise's play worthy of praise

Zach Parise is currently ranked No.2 in overall fantasy value behind Alex Ovechkin.
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - One of the hardest categories to get a grip on, particularly from a team's forwards is plus/minus rating. While defensemen seem to excel in the category, finding wingers with great plus/minus ratings seems much more difficult.

So far in 2009-10, three of the top-four in plus/minus rating are defensemen as well as eight of the top-15.

Who is that one non-defensemen in the top-four?

It's New Jersey Devils left winger Zach Parise.

Parise is doing it all this year. He is tied for seventh in points (30), second in shots (109) and leads the league with a +19 rating. It's not the first time Parise has finished high on the plus/minus leaderboard. In his 2008-09 season which saw him post 94 points (45G, 49A), Parise's rating was a very good +30, eighth-best in the league.

The Devils' winger was a first-round selection in this year's draft (ADP 4) and is certainly living up to the hype. He's currently ranked No.2 in overall fantasy value behind Alex Ovechkin.

Most of the time he plays with centerman Travis Zajac (7G, 15A, +13) and Jamie Langenbrunner (5G, 17A, +8). It's interesting to note that while Parise is on every roster, both Zajac and Langenbrunner are not. About 15% of all fantasy leagues show one of Parise's linemates available. Given how well the line plays together, if your league is one of those 15%, you should be making a roster move immediately.
