Philadelphia 76ers Player Notes
For The Last 365 Days

Sam Young, F5/26/2013 6:48:00 PM
Description: Pacers forward Sam Young is questionable for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals Sunday against Miami with a sprained left ankle.
Insight: Young plays only a small role in the Pacers' rotation, under eight minutes per game in the playoffs, and has little-to-no fantasy value.
Dorell Wright, F4/14/2013 12:14:00 PM
Description: Sixers small forward Dorell Wright had 15 points, four assists, two rebounds and three triples Sunday against the Cavs.
Insight: Wright has been getting decent playing time over the past two months and is averaging 12.3 ppg since the start of March.
Evan Turner, SF4/12/2013 10:12:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia small forward Evan Turner went 0-for-11 from the field and had zero points Friday against the Wizards.
Insight: Turner hasn't been able to sustain any sort of consistency in his scoring this season and is averaging 13.4 ppg on 42.1 percent shooting.
Thaddeus Young, F4/10/2013 9:56:00 PM
Description: 76ers forward Thaddeus Young shot 14-of-20 from the field and finished with 28 points Wednesday versus the Hawks.
Insight: Young was terrible Tuesday against Brooklyn (1-for-9, three points) so it's nice to see him get back on track. Philadelphia's next opponent is Washington. Young posted 14 points and six rebounds when he faced the Wizards a little over a month ago.
Dorell Wright, F4/6/2013 12:14:00 PM
Description: Sixers small forward Dorell Wright is questionable for Saturday's game against Miami. He's out with an elbow injury.
Insight: Wright's thin frame prevents him from being a force on the glass. With that said, he has provided fantasy owners with decent scoring and three-point shooting off the bench.
Evan Turner, SFHot4/5/2013 10:31:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia small forward Evan Turner looked sharp Friday in a win over Atlanta (24 points, 11 rebounds).
Insight: Turner shot 9-for-15 from the floor including 3-of-4 from long range. He's reached 20 points in three of his last four games.
Dorell Wright, F4/5/2013 6:53:00 PM
Description: Sixers small forward Dorell Wright won't be in the lineup Friday against the Hawks. He's out with an elbow injury.
Insight: Wright's thin frame prevents him from being a force on the glass, hence his anemic rebounding rate over the last five games (just 2.0 rpg). With that said, he has provided fantasy owners with decent scoring, even if his success rate from the field hasn't been especially high (39.3 percent for the season).
Jrue Holiday, GCold4/3/2013 9:51:00 PM
Description: Sixers point guard Jrue Holiday had an off-shooting night Wednesday against Charlotte (2-of-24).
Insight: Calling it an "off-night" might be putting it kindly. Holiday has had rough shooting nights before (6-for-17 Saturday against the Bobcats) but nothing quite like this. Luckily he was able to salvage the night somewhat by producing eight assists and three steals.
Evan Turner, SF3/29/2013 9:45:00 PM
Description: Sixers swingman Evan Turner had 23 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and two threes in 38 minutes Friday against the Cavaliers.
Insight: Turner's scoring has been inconsistent all season and he has averaged 13.4 ppg in 72 games. However, he has been a solid fantasy option due to his 6.4 rpg, 4.3 apg, and 0.9 spg.
Dorell Wright, F3/27/2013 9:55:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia forward Dorell Wright had 14 points with three treys Wednesday versus Milwaukee and is averaging 18.3 points and 3.7 threes over his last three games.
Insight: Wright has finally received extra minutes this month and he has capitalized with averages of 13.5 ppg and 2.5 3pt in 15 March games.
Damien Wilkins, F3/27/2013 9:52:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia guard Damien Wilkins had 18 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals Wednesday against the Bucks.
Insight: Wilkins earned coach Doug Collins' trust when Nick Young was out with an injury and he has continued to play solid minutes. He's averaging 13.9 ppg over his last 12 games. Meanwhile, Young has been a consistent DNP-CD since returning from the injury.
Spencer Hawes, CHot3/27/2013 9:50:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia center Spencer Hawes has been a strong fantasy asset in the month of March. He's averaging 13.7 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks over 15 games.
Insight: Hawes has really stepped his game up this month but he has been a decent fantasy option since December. He averaged 11.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in December, 11.1/6.7/1.9 in January and 11.4/8.0/1.0 in February.
Spencer Hawes, CHot3/21/2013 9:31:00 AM
Description: On a night when the rest of his team played terribly, Philadelphia center Spencer Hawes was a bright spot, producing 16 points, seven boards, seven assists and four blocks in 32 minutes Wednesday against the Clippers.
Insight: Los Angeles won by 29 but that didn't stop Hawes from having another great game. Over his last three appearances, Hawes has collected averages of 17.3 ppg, 12 rpg, 6.3 apg and 4.3 bpg. He's shooting 51.2 percent from the field over that span (21-of-41).
Andrew Bynum, C3/18/2013 9:05:00 PM
Description: Howard Eskin from Fox 29 in Philadelphia reports that 76ers center Andrew Bynum is headed to New York for season-ending surgery on both of his knees.
Insight: This trade has to go down as one of the worst in league history. Philadelphia traded away Andre Iguodala and Nikola Vucevic for Bynum and now he might never play a single game for them. Jason Richardson came over in that trade as well and he also suffered a season-ending knee injury. At this point it looks like Bynum's career could be in jeopardy. It would be a miracle if he made it back in time for the start of the 2013-14 campaign.
Jrue Holiday, G3/16/2013 10:10:00 PM
Description: 76ers guard Jrue Holiday impressed fantasy owners with 27 points, six rebounds and 12 assists Saturday against Indiana.
Insight: The Sixers dug their own grave by going 3-8 in February. Not having Andrew Bynum all year probably hasn't helped. But for fantasy owners, the outlook is much brighter. Holiday is one of the feel-good stories in all of basketball this season. Once a no-name, Holiday (18.6 ppg, 8.7 apg, 4.2 rpg) has emerged as one of the best point guards in the Eastern Conference. Fantasy owners who took a chance on Holiday on draft day have been handsomely rewarded. See, there is a happy ending.
Spencer Hawes, C3/16/2013 9:59:00 PM
Description: Sixers center Spencer Hawes torched the Pacers for 18 points and 16 rebounds Saturday in Philadelphia.
Insight: You never know which Hawes you're going to get do you? Wednesday against the Heat he looked terrible (six points, five rebounds, two turnovers). But the game before that he was brilliant in a win over Brooklyn (24 points, 10 boards). Hawes is not for the feint of heart.
Thaddeus Young, FHot3/13/2013 9:29:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia forward Thaddeus Young had 24 points and 15 rebounds Wednesday against the Heat.
Insight: Young is averaging 22.8 points, 10 rebounds and 2.0 steals over his last four games and 19.3 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.3 steals during the month of March.
Nick Young, G3/13/2013 5:56:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia guard Nick Young (sprained ankle) will be available to play Wednesday after missing seven straight games, a Sixers spokesperson told Christopher Vito of the Delaware County Daily Times.
Insight: Young made just 2-of-14 shots in his final three games before the injury but is averaging 13.1 ppg as a starter this season. Dorell Wright is averaging 13.7 ppg in 24 mpg this month and Damien Wilkins is averaging 15.5 ppg over his last four contests. The three will likely split playing time, making all three poor fantasy options.
Nick Young, G3/11/2013 6:50:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia guard Nick Young won't be on the floor for Monday's game against Brooklyn. He's still recovering from a sprained ankle.
Insight: This marks Young's seventh consecutive absence. The Sixers will need a miracle to get back into the playoff picture so there's no point in rushing Young back if he isn't 100 percent. Damien Wilkins has emerged as a fantasy candidate in Young's absence (16.3 ppg in his last three contests).
Thaddeus Young, FHot3/10/2013 10:38:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia forward Thaddeus Young came through with 26 points and 12 rebounds Sunday in a loss to Orlando.
Insight: Young (15.1 ppg, 7.7 rpg) is averaging an impressive 17.6 ppg on 56.2 percent shooting since the start of the month. He's collected 8.2 boards per contest over that span. The injury-depleted Sixers should continue to lean heavily on Young as the season rolls on.
Jrue Holiday, G3/8/2013 11:50:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia point guard Jrue Holiday is probable for Friday's game against Miami with a sprained left thumb.
Insight: Holiday shot just 3-of-12 on Wednesday, perhaps, effected by the thumb. He is averaging 19.0 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 8.6 apg in his first All-Star season.
Nick Young, G3/7/2013 10:32:00 AM
Description: Nick Young won't be in attendance when the Sixers take on the Heat Friday night in Miami. He's staying in Philadelphia to rehab his injured ankle.
Insight: That means Young won't be available for Sunday's contest in Orlando either. Royal Ivey (3.3 ppg) and Damien Wilkins (3.1 ppg) will have to pick up the slack at shooting guard while Young (11.1 ppg) is sidelined.
Damien Wilkins, F3/6/2013 10:15:00 PM
Description: 76ers forward Damien Wilkins came out of nowhere to score 21 points Wednesday against the Hawks.
Insight: Wilkins' previous season-high in points came last Tuesday when he scored 14 against the Magic. With just three double-digit point games to his credit all season, Wilkins hasn't done enough to warrant a spot on any fantasy rosters.
Dorell Wright, F3/6/2013 10:11:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia forward Dorell Wright came through with 20 points off the bench Wednesday night in Atlanta.
Insight: Don't get too excited. Wright only shot 6-of-16 from the field. It's not all bad, though. The fact that Wright played 32 minutes (well above his season average of 21.5 mpg) shows that head coach Doug Collins has confidence in him. Perhaps Wright's heavy Wednesday workload is a sign of things to come.
Nick Young, G3/5/2013 9:56:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard guard Nick Young missed Sunday's game with a sprained ankle, his second in a row and is expected to miss Tuesday's contest against Boston.
Insight: Young (11.1 ppg) suffered the injury during Friday's practice. Royal Ivey has seen about 25 minutes of playing time over the past two games, but can't be depended upon to produce on a night-in, night-out basis.
Nick Young, G3/4/2013 10:05:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard guard Nick Young missed Sunday's game with a sprained ankle, his second in a row and is doubtful for Tuesday against Boston.
Insight: Young (11.1 ppg) suffered the injury during Friday's practice. Royal Ivey has seen about 25 minutes of playing time over the past two games, but can't be depended upon to produce on a night-in, night-out basis.
Spencer Hawes, C3/3/2013 9:01:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia center Spencer Hawes' production continues to teeter back-and-forth. He had a 14/11 double-double with three assists and one block Sunday night versus Washington, one day after going 0-for-9 from the field.
Insight: Prior to that 0-for-9, Hawes had 20 points and 15 rebounds Thursday, six points and one rebound Tuesday, 10 points and nine rebounds on Feb. 24 and two points and two rebounds on Feb. 23.
Dorell Wright, F3/3/2013 8:44:00 PM
Description: Sixers guard-forward Dorell Wright is averaging 14 points and three threes in his last two games.
Insight: Wright is getting more minutes with Nick Young sidelined. He's a decent short-term add if you need some points, rebounds and threes.
Nick Young, G3/3/2013 5:00:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard guard Nick Young will miss Sunday's game with a sprained ankle, according to Tom Moore of Phillyburbs.com.
Insight: Young (11.1 ppg) also missed Saturday's game after suffering the injury during Friday's practice. Royal Ivey had 17 points in a spot start on Saturday and he will probably split minutes with Dorell Wright again.
Thaddeus Young, F3/2/2013 10:36:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia forward Thaddeus Young piled on 14 points and 16 rebounds Saturday versus Golden State.
Insight: He's averaging 10.5 ppg and 11.3 rpg since his return from a hamstring injury. Young's season average of 7.8 rpg is the highest of his six-year career.
Evan Turner, SF3/2/2013 10:31:00 PM
Description: Sixers swingman Evan Turner (22 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists) finished one assist shy of his first career triple-double Saturday in a win over Golden State.
Insight: Turner's versatility makes him one of the most unique players in all of fantasy hoops. He's not a superstar yet but he's getting there.
Nick Young, G3/2/2013 6:33:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard guard Nick Young won't be available for Saturday's game against the Warriors. He's out because of a sprained left ankle.
Insight: Young (11.1 ppg) hurt his ankle at practice on Friday. Royal Ivey (2.8 ppg) will take Young's spot in the starting lineup.
Andrew Bynum, C3/1/2013 4:52:00 PM
Description: Andrew Bynum's latest setback -- swelling in his right knee -- has him doubting whether he'll play this season. SOURCE: Tom Moore, Phillyburbs.com
Insight: Bynum said that he isn't going to risk his long-term health by playing this season. He's dealing with issues in both knees, including a possible degenerative condition. Fantasy owners can cut him loose.
Spencer Hawes, C2/28/2013 10:45:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia center Spencer Hawes bounced back from a tough outing Tuesday by scoring 20 points and pulling down 15 rebounds Thursday in a loss to Chicago.
Insight: Head coach Doug Collins criticized Hawes for his lack of effort in Tuesday's loss to Orlando (six points, one rebound in 21 minutes). Thursday he was much more aggressive and the result was a pretty good fantasy day. Unfortunately for Collins the Sixers didn't fare any better, dropping their sixth game in a row.
Andrew Bynum, C2/28/2013 11:16:00 AM
Description: ESPN's Skip Bayless said on Wednesday's episode of "First Take" that a source inside the 76ers organization told him that the most recent MRI on Andrew Bynum's knees showed "degeneration," meaning they will never return to full strength.
Insight: Bayless is an analyst and not an NBA insider with connections so take this report with a grain of salt. Bynum's knee problems are well documented but he will likely still receive a large contract as a free agent this summer. All it takes is one team willing to take a chance, and we think there will be several. As for this season, if Bynum does return it will only be for 10-15 games.
Thaddeus Young, F2/26/2013 11:32:00 AM
Description: 76ers forward Thaddeus Young made it through his first game back from a hamstring injury without incident, scoring 11 points and pulling down 10 rebounds against the Knicks.
Insight: Young (14.9 ppg, 7.4 rpg) had not played since February 4th before Sunday's game. He has been a solid option this season and should be back in all fantasy lineups.
Jrue Holiday, G2/24/2013 10:01:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday finished with 30 points, five rebounds and five assists Sunday in a loss to the Knicks.
Insight: That's well above his season average of 19.2 ppg. Holiday is now averaging 18.4 ppg for the month. That's slightly below what he averaged in January (20.9 ppg in 14 games).
Thaddeus Young, F2/24/2013 5:57:00 PM
Description: 76ers forward Thaddeus Young will make his return from a hamstring injury Sunday night against the Knicks.
Insight: Young (14.9 ppg, 7.4 rpg) hasn't played since February 4th. His return will bump Lavoy Allen (6.6 ppg) out of the starting lineup.
Andrew Bynum, C2/23/2013 7:17:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia coach Doug Collins said that center Andrew Bynum (knees) "looked like a guy who didn't play in nine months" after Bynum practiced Friday with the team. SOURCE: Chris Vito, Delaware County Times
Insight: Bynum has been working out with coaches and team medical personnel exclusively so taking part in a five-on-five scrimmage Friday is a big step forward. However, the Sixers won't practice again this week with six games between today and next Sunday, so we might not see Bynum until the second week of March.
Thaddeus Young, F2/23/2013 6:43:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia small forward Thaddeus Young (hamstring) is hoping to play Sunday against the Knicks. SOURCE: Tom Moore, PhillyBurbs.com
Insight: Young has missed the last five games with a pulled hamstring, and Saturday will make six. If he doesn't return Sunday he should be back Tuesday against the Magic.
Andrew Bynum, C2/23/2013 5:57:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia center Andrew Bynum (knees) practiced Friday with the team. SOURCE: Philadelphia Inquirer
Insight: Bynum has been working out with coaches and team medical personnel exclusively so this is a potentially big step forward. The Sixers have just 29 games remaining after Saturday's tilt with Miami, so the time is running out for Bynum to make an appearance this season. The important thing will be seeing how Bynum's knee react in the coming days.
Nick Young, G2/13/2013 10:23:00 PM
Description: Sixers guard Nick Young had 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting (2-3 3PT, 4-4 FT) with five rebounds Wednesday against the Bucks.
Insight: It was a nice follow-up to Young's 29-point effort Monday against the Clippers. Young has been getting more than 34 minutes and averaging close to 16 ppg since joining the starting lineup in place of the injured Jason Richardson. J-Rich is out for the season, so Swaggy P has the starting job all to himself.
Sam Young, F2/11/2013 11:48:00 AM
Description: Pacers forward Sam Young is questionable for Monday's game against Brooklyn due to flu-like symptoms.
Insight: Young plays only a small role in the Pacers' rotation and has little-to-no fantasy value. When Danny Granger returns, Young may not play at all.
Lavoy Allen, C2/9/2013 11:00:00 PM
Description: Sixers big man Lavoy Allen moved back into the starting lineup after coming off the bench in the last six games and put up 14 points and 22 rebounds Saturday against the Bobcats.
Insight: Allen minutes have increased from 30 to 35 to 41 over the last three games. While he has scored in double figures in each of those games, fantasy owners shouldn't expect a repeat of this rebounding effort. The Bobcats shot 27-of-88 (.307) from the field, so there were plenty of rebounds to be had.
Jason Richardson, SG2/6/2013 8:18:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia 76ers guard Jason Richardson (knee) will have left knee surgery next week. He'll miss the rest of the season. SOURCE: Marc J. Spears, Yahoo! Sports
Insight: Richardson's recovery time following the surgery will be 6-9 months, a doctor in New York said. Nick Young is averaging 16.5 ppg in 35 mpg over eight starts this season and should continue to see heavy minutes.
Thaddeus Young, F2/5/2013 10:38:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia small forward Thaddeus Young strained his left hamstring Monday against Orlando and is out indefinitely.
Insight: Young is averaging 14.9 ppg and 7.4 rpg and his numbers will be hard to replace. Lavoy Allen (6.3 ppg) and Dorell Wright (7.7 ppg) will share the playing time, but neither holds much fantasy value.
Jrue Holiday, G2/4/2013 10:08:00 PM
Description: Sixers All-Star point guard Jrue Holiday dished out 14 assists Monday in a win against Orlando.
Insight: Monday was Holiday's 15th double-digit assist game of the season, which is already 14 more than he had all of last season. Holiday ranks fourth in the NBA this season with 9.0 apg.
Spencer Hawes, C2/4/2013 10:02:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia center Spencer Hawes racked up 21 points and 14 rebounds Monday in a win over the Magic.
Insight: Thaddeus Young's injury bought Hawes a little extra playing time and the 24-year-old took full advantage. The 17 shots Hawes attempted were a season-high. So were the 14 rebounds he came down with.
Thaddeus Young, F2/4/2013 8:25:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia small forward Thaddeus Young strained his left hamstring Monday against Orlando and is done for the night.
Insight: He finished with six points and five rebounds in just 15 minutes of action. Lavoy Allen (6.3 ppg) and Dorell Wright (7.7 ppg) will have to step up now that Young is through for the night.
Thaddeus Young, F2/1/2013 10:24:00 PM
Description: Sixers forward Thaddeus Young turned in 23 points, 15 boards, two assists and two steals Friday against the Kings.
Insight: There's nothing here Young hasn't done before. He's had a strong all-around fantasy season.
Nick Young, G2/1/2013 10:23:00 PM
Description: Sixers guard Nick Young scored 20 points with four boards, one steal and one trey Friday night.
Insight: Young is averaging 18.2 points in his last five games but his run could come to an end when Jason Richardson returns to the lineup.
Jrue Holiday, G2/1/2013 10:20:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia point guard Jrue Holiday had a typical statistical night Friday against the Kings: 21 points, seven assists, six rebounds, one steal, one three, and too many turnovers.
Insight: Holiday had an ugly eight turnovers in the game. He coughed the ball up 4.4 times per game in January.
Jason Richardson, SG2/1/2013 6:18:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia 76ers guard Jason Richardson will not play Friday night. SOURCE: Chris Vito, Delaware County Daily Times
Insight: Richardson has been dealing with a knee injury but was hoping to play Friday. Unfortunately, weather prevented him from leaving Colorado, a team spokesperson said. Nick Young has averaged 16.2 ppg and 3.0 rpg over the four-game span that Richardson has been sidelined.
Spencer Hawes, C1/30/2013 9:35:00 PM
Description: Sixers center Spencer Hawes had 12 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and four blocks in 38 minutes Tuesday against the Wizards.
Insight: Hawes averaged 11.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 27 minutes over his previous 24 games and he continued his solid play Wednesday. If you need blocks, Hawes is your man.
Nick Young, G1/30/2013 9:34:00 PM
Description: Sixers guard Nick Young is averaging 17.8 points over his last four games.
Insight: Young has moved into the starting lineup with Jason Richardson (knee) out. He has attempted at least 10 shots in six straight games and is a good source of threes right now.
Jason Richardson, SG1/29/2013 12:20:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia 76ers guard Jason Richardson is expected to miss Wednesday's game against Washington with a knee injury. Monday's game against Memphis was his fourth consecutive DNP.
Insight: Richardson is hoping to return Friday against Sacramento. His replacement Nick Young has averaged 16.2 ppg and 3.0 rpg over the four-game span that Richardson has been sidelined.
Jason Richardson, SG1/28/2013 7:16:00 PM
Description: Sixers guard Jason Richardson is still out with a knee injury. Monday's game against Memphis will be his fourth consecutive DNP.
Insight: It sounds like Richardson is hoping to return Friday against Sacramento. His replacement Nick Young (20 ppg over his last two games) is still available in nearly 95 percent of ESPN fantasy leagues.
Nick Young, G1/28/2013 10:22:00 AM
Description: Sixers guard Nick Young (10.7 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 1.4 apg) has posted back-to-back 20-point games as the primary replacement for injured Jason Richardson (knee).
Insight: With Richardson likely out of the lineup on Monday versus Memphis, Young should again be a viable fantasy option.
Jason Richardson, SG1/28/2013 10:20:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard Jason Richardson (knee) is doubtful for Monday's game agianst Memphis.
Insight: Richardson is dealing with chronic knee inflammation and didn't practice Sunday. Nick Young sees about 30 minutes when Richardson is out of the lineup and is the best option for fantasy owners.
Andrew Bynum, C1/28/2013 10:18:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia center Andrew Bynum could return to full practice status by the end of the week, according to a Philadelphia Inquirer report.
Insight: His target for return remains the All-Star break. Fantasy owners who have stashed him on the bench all season are hoping when he returns he can posted last season's numbers - 18.7 ppg, 11.8 rpg. So are the Sixers, who need an inside game to complement their outside game.
Jrue Holiday, G1/26/2013 10:25:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia point guard Jrue Holiday led the Sixers to victory over the Knicks Saturday with 35 points (16-25 FG), six assists, five rebounds, one steal and one turnover.
Insight: Holiday was miserable in his previous two games (10-32 FG, 14 TOs) but he scored 92 points in the three games prior to that so the good is outweighing the bad by far.
Spencer Hawes, C1/26/2013 7:07:00 PM
Description: Sixers center Spencer Hawes will start Saturday against the Knicks.
Insight: Hawes has benefited from increased playing time since early December. In his last 22 games, Hawes is averaging 12.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 26 minutes per game. He only played 21 mpg in his first 20 games.
Nick Young, G1/26/2013 6:21:00 PM
Description: Sixers guard Nick Young (10.5 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 1.3 apg) is active for Saturday's game against New York. He did not practice on Friday due to a hip injury.
Insight: With Jason Richardson out of the lineup, a healthy Young could be a viable fantasy option.
Nick Young, G1/26/2013 10:33:00 AM
Description: Sixers guard Nick Young (10.5 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 1.3 apg) is questionable for Saturday's game against New York due to a hip injury. He did not practice on Friday.
Insight: With Richardson out of the lineup, a healthy Young could be a viable fantasy option.
Jason Richardson, SG1/26/2013 10:30:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard Jason Richardson (knee) will miss Saturday's game against New York.
Insight: Richardson is dealing with chronic knee inflammation and didn't even make the trip to Milwaukee. Nick Young sees about 30 minutes when Richardson is out of the lineup and is the best option for fantasy owners.
Jason Richardson, SG1/25/2013 10:18:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard Jason Richardson (knee) is questionable for Saturday's game against New York.
Insight: Richardson is dealing with chronic knee inflammation and didn't even make the trip to Milwaukee. Nick Young sees about 30 minutes when Richardson is out of the lineup and is the best option for fantasy owners.
Jason Richardson, SG1/22/2013 6:41:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard Jason Richardson (knee) will miss Tuesday's game against Milwaukee.
Insight: Richardson is dealing with left knee inflammation and didn't even make the trip to Milwaukee. Dorell Wright will likely see another start but isn't guaranteed to play enough minutes to move the needle in fantasy leagues.
Andrew Bynum, C1/22/2013 11:59:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia center Andrew Bynum has been running on a treadmill and most recently working on shooting and post moves, reports Marc Narducci at philly.com.
Insight: He still hasn't done any lateral work, but no setbacks to date is a good thing. His target for return remains the All-Star break. Fantasy owners who have stashed him on the bench all season are hoping when he returns he can posted last season's numbers - 18.7 ppg, 11.8 rpg.
Jason Richardson, SG1/22/2013 9:52:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard Jason Richardson, who missed Monday's game against San Antonio after having his knee drained last Thursday, is questionable for Tuesday's game against Milwaukee.
Insight: Dorrell Wright got the start in Richardson's place, but he hasn't done much of late, averaging just 6.5 ppg in January.
Jason Richardson, SG1/21/2013 9:28:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard Jason Richardson missed Monday's game against San Antonio after having his knee drained last Thursday.
Insight: Dorrell Wright got the start in Richardson's place. Consider Richardson questionable for Tuesday's game in Milwaukee.
Jason Richardson, SGCold1/20/2013 3:07:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard Jason Richardson (knee) is questionable for Monday's game.
Insight: J-Rich recently had his left knee drained but he played Friday against Toronto. With the Sixers scheduled to play a back-to-back on Monday and Tuesday, we don't expect Richardson to play Monday. The shooting guard is only averaging 7.7 points on 36.7 percent shooting over his last 10 games.
Thaddeus Young, F1/18/2013 10:18:00 PM
Description: Sixers forward Thaddeus Young had a double-double with 27 points, 14 assists, three steals and one block in 45 minutes on Friday.
Insight: Young shot 13-of-19 from the field. That type of high-percentage scoring has been a regular occurrence this season.
Jrue Holiday, GHot1/18/2013 10:14:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia point guard Jrue Holiday dumped in another 33 points with 14 assists, five rebounds and three steals in 45 minutes of play on Friday.
Insight: Holiday has scored 92 points with 34 assists, 13 rebounds, 11 steals and six threes while making 34-of-62 from the field and 18-of-20 from the free-throw line over his last three games.
Jason Richardson, SG1/18/2013 6:47:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard Jason Richardson (knee) will start Friday against Toronto.
Insight: J-Rich is still a decent fantasy option but he's wearing down. The veteran is only averaging 7.8 points on 38 percent shooting since Dec. 23. He had his knee drained on Thursday and probably won't play enough minutes to warrant a start in fantasy leagues on Friday.
Jason Richardson, SG1/17/2013 2:23:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard Jason Richardson had his knee drained Thursday and didn't practice. He is a game-time decision for Friday. SOURCE: Chris Vito, Delaware County Daily Times
Insight: J-Rich is still a decent fantasy option but he's wearing down. The veteran is only averaging 7.8 points on 38 percent shooting since Dec. 23. He has missed three of 12 games in that span.
Andrew Bynum, C1/16/2013 11:38:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia center Andrew Bynum said he wasn't feeling much pain and hoped to be back around the All-Star break, according to a Philadelphia Inquirer report.
Insight: We're still not ready to say he's closing in on a return because we haven't seen him do any running. The Sixers are slumping and need the big man to return if they are going to have any chance of making the playoffs.
Jrue Holiday, GHot1/15/2013 9:47:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia point guard Jrue Holiday is averaging 29.5 points, 10 assists, 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 2.5 threes over his last two games.
Insight: Holiday dropped 29 points with 11 assists, five boards, four steals and four treys on the Hornets Monday.
Nick Young, G1/13/2013 9:45:00 AM
Description: Sixers guard Nick Young picked up a Did Not Play - Coach's Decision Saturday against the Rockets after playing just 13 minutes Wednesday at Toronto.
Insight: Young wasn't producing enough to warrant a fantasy roster spot anyway but this further removes him from the conversation.
Spencer Hawes, C1/13/2013 9:38:00 AM
Description: Sixers center Spencer Hawes has blocked 14 shots in January. He had three more Saturday night to go along with 10 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
Insight: Hawes was only averaging 7.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 20 minutes per game through Dec. 4 but he's picked it up since then. In his last 20 games, Hawes has played 25 minutes per game while averaging 11.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.5 blocks per game.
Evan Turner, SF1/13/2013 9:34:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia guard-forward Evan Turner scored 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting with seven rebounds and six assists Saturday night versus Houston.
Insight: Turner is only averaging 10.7 points on 40.4 percent shooting in his last 13 games but he's doing it with 6.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals during that stretch so he's still playing at a fantasy starter's level. We know Turner is capable of more scoring -- he averaged 17.8 points on 46.6 percent shooting in 17 games from Nov. 16 to Dec. 18 -- so an upswing should be on the horizon.
Thaddeus Young, F1/13/2013 9:31:00 AM
Description: Sixers forward Thaddeus Young put up 18 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and two steals with just one turnover Saturday night against the Rockets.
Insight: Young is a high-percentage scorer (14.8 ppg, .527 FG%) who doesn't turn the ball over (1.1 TOs) while rebounding well (7.2 reb) and providing good defensive numbers (1.6 stl, 0.9 blk). He's a must-start player, but you'll have to look elsewhere for 3-pointers.
Jason Richardson, SGCold1/13/2013 9:25:00 AM
Description: Sixers shooting guard Jason Richardson returned from a one-game absence to post 16 points with four rebounds and two threes Saturday against the Rockets.
Insight: Philadelphia coach Doug Collins gave J-Rich the night off on Wednesday after he averaged just 7.3 ppg in his previous six games. Richardson doesn't have much upside but he can still provide fantasy-worthy numbers.
Jrue Holiday, G1/13/2013 9:20:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia point guard Jrue Holiday had 30 points, nine assists, three rebounds, four steals and a block Saturday against the Rockets.
Insight: Of course, he also turned the ball over six times. If you can handle nearly four turnovers per game, Holiday's 18.7 ppg, 8.8 ast, 4.1 reb and 1.3 stl make him an attractive option.
Jason Richardson, SGCold1/9/2013 7:21:00 PM
Description: 76er coach Doug Collins chose to give guard Jason Richardson the night off on Wednesday.
Insight: Richardson has struggled to just 7 ppg in his last seven games while dealing with lower back issues. We're guessing Richardson will be back for Saturday's game against Houston.
Jrue Holiday, G1/8/2013 9:31:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia point guard Jrue Holiday was the only 76ers starter to score in double figures on Tuesday against the Nets. He had 19 points, eight assists, three boards and one steal in 30 minutes as the Sixers lost their 12th game in the last 15.
Insight: Holiday's production hasn't dropped off much after a hot start in November. His one blemish is an NBA-worst 3.8 turnovers per game but fantasy owners can work around that.
Spencer Hawes, C1/8/2013 9:27:00 PM
Description: Sixers center Spencer Hawes scored 14 points with four assists and two blocks in 24 minutes Tuesday against the Nets.
Insight: It was a strong follow-up performance to Hawes' season-high 22 points on Jan. 5. Despite Andruw Bynum not playing this entire season, Hawes hasn't started a game and is only averaging 23 mpg. His output -- 9.6 ppg, 5.9 reb, 1.5 ast, 1.2 blk -- is decent but probably not enough to warrant a roster spot in fantasy leagues.
Spencer Hawes, C1/8/2013 11:03:00 AM
Description: Sixers PF/C Spencer Hawes had a season-high 22 points (10-of-13 FG) Saturday against the San Antonio.
Insight: Hawes is averaging 9.5 ppg, 6.0 rpg this season, but with Andrew Bynum and Kwame Brown sidelined, he's been seeing close to 30 minutes of playing time of late and has put up decent numbers.
Dorell Wright, F1/5/2013 9:22:00 AM
Description: Sixers guard-forward Dorell Wright has scored 35 points on just 23 shot attempts (8-16 3PT) over the last three games.
Insight: Wright just doesn't get enough shots when Jason Richardson is active. While Wright would likely start if Richardson had to miss an extended period of time, 76ers coach Doug Collins tends to go to Nick Young more than Wright off the bench when Richardson, Young and Wright are all in the lineup.
Nick Young, G1/5/2013 9:18:00 AM
Description: Sixers guard Nick Young had 21 points on 5-of-12 shooting, with all of his makes coming from 3-point range, on Friday against the Thunder.
Insight: Young's 10.3 ppg aren't enough to offset poor numbers in rebounds, assists and steals.
Jrue Holiday, G1/4/2013 4:47:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia 76ers point guard Jrue Holiday has a right groin strain but should be able to play on Friday. SOURCE: Dei Lynam, Comcast SportsNet
Insight: Holiday's groin strain was referred to as "slight" by CSNPhilly.com. The point guard is averaging 20 points, 9.1 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.0 steals in seven games since returing from a foot injury.
Jrue Holiday, G12/30/2012 10:10:00 AM
Description: 76ers guard Jrue Holiday narrowly missed a triple-double Saturday in a loss to the Trail Blazers. He ended the night with 29 points, nine rebounds and nine assists.
Insight: Holiday has now scored 20 points or more in five of his last seven games. Now if only he could cut down on all the turnovers (he had seven Saturday night in Portland).
Jason Richardson, SG12/29/2012 11:18:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard Jason Richardson (11.5 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.5 spg) didn't end up playing Friday despite being active. He was a DNP-CD as Sixers coach Doug Collins gave him one more game to rest his ailing back.
Insight: With Richardson out of the lineup Wednesday, three-point specialist Dorell Wright exploded for 28 points, including 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. Wright started again Friday but only had eight points. Richardson could regain his starting job Saturday night against Portland.
Thaddeus Young, FHot12/29/2012 11:12:00 AM
Description: Sixers forward Thaddeus Young scored 19 points with 10 rebounds, four assists and five steals while making 9-of-16 from the field Friday night against the Warriors.
Insight: That makes 20 straight games with double-digit points for Young. He's averaging 16.7 points on 55.4 percent shooting with 7.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.2 blocks in that span. He's already one of fantasy's best forwards, improving that lousy .593 free-throw percentage will make him elite.
Jrue Holiday, G12/29/2012 11:09:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia point guard Jrue Holiday has scored 20-plus points in two of the last three games while dishing out nine or more assists in all three.
Insight: Holiday missed four games with a foot injury earlier this month but he has returned with 17.3 ppg, 8.8 apg and 4.0 rpg in his last four. Turnovers are really the only thing preventing Holiday from moving into the upper echelon among fantasy point guards; he's averaging 3.7 TOs per game.
Jason Richardson, SG12/28/2012 9:55:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard Jason Richardson (11.5 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.5 spg) said he'll play Friday against the Warriors. He missed Wednesday's game with a lower back injury. SOURCE: Jimmy Spencer, NBA.com
Insight: With Richardson out of the lineup Wednesday, three-point specialist Dorell Wright exploded for 28 points, including 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. Richardson will come off the bench Friday while Wright will get another start.
Dorell Wright, FHot12/28/2012 9:51:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia forward Dorell Wright will start Friday against the Warriors. SOURCE: Philadelphia 76ers PR Director Michael Preston
Insight: Wright dropped in 28 points with five 3-pointers Wednesday in his first start since Nov. 10 and has scored 20 or more points in three of his last five games. He should be active in all leagues as he proved what he could do with regular playing time in the first seven games of the season.
Jason Richardson, SG12/28/2012 2:36:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard Jason Richardson (11.5 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.5 spg) missed Wednesday's game against Memphis because of a strained lower back and is questionable for Friday's game against Golden State.
Insight: With Richardson out of the lineup, three-point specialist Dorell Wright exploded for 28 points, including 5-of-8 from beyond the arc.
Dorell Wright, FHot12/27/2012 9:56:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia forward Dorell Wright tossed in a season-best 28 points Wednesday in a win over the Grizzlies.
Insight: Wright has scored 20 or more in three of his last five games after failing to reach that mark in his first 24 games of the season. He should continue to have good fantasy value as long as Jason Richardson (strained back) remains out of the lineup.
Dorell Wright, F12/26/2012 9:58:00 AM
Description: Sixers fans will see a big dose of Dorell Wright in Wednesday's game against Memphis with starting shooting guard Jason Richardson out of the lineup.
Insight: Wright averages 12.8 p[pg, 6.3 rpg, 1.5 apg when he's installed into the starting lineup and hits 40 percent from beyond the arc.
Jason Richardson, SG12/26/2012 9:53:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard Jason Richardson (11.5 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.5 spg) will miss Wednesday's game against Memphis because of a strained lower back.
Insight: With Richardson out of the lineup, three-point specialist Dorell Wright should see enough time to be a viable fantasy option.
Thaddeus Young, FHot12/23/2012 6:24:00 PM
Description: Sixers forward Thaddeus Young is averaging 16.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists 1.8 steals and 1.1 blocks during his current streak of 18 straight double-digit scoring games.
Insight: Young extended the streak with 18 points Saturday against the Nets. There's a benefit to never attempting any 3-pointers -- Young is shooting better than 53 percent this season.
Jrue Holiday, G12/23/2012 6:19:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia point guard Jrue Holiday led the team with 24 points Sunday against the Nets in his second game since returning from a foot injury. Holiday added nine assists, six rebounds and a block with just two turnovers.
Insight: It's clear the foot is no longer bothering him; he has played 37 mpg in his last two games.
Jrue Holiday, G12/22/2012 10:27:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia point guard Jrue Holiday had 11 points and seven assists Friday in his return to the starting lineup.
Insight: Holiday had missed the Sixers' previous four games because of a foot injury. Holiday didn't look particularly sharp on Friday but he should be fine going forward.
Andrew Bynum, C12/21/2012 9:02:00 PM
Description: Doctors have given Philadelphia center Andrew Bynum the go-ahead to step up his workouts as he continues to rehab his injured knee.
Insight: There's still no timetable for his return. We'll let you know when Bynum gets close to a return so you'll be able to snag him off the waiver wire.
Jrue Holiday, G12/21/2012 6:57:00 PM
Description: Sixers guard Jrue Holiday is back in the lineup Friday against Atlanta after missing four games with a sprained foot.
Insight: Philadelphia went 0-4 without him so Holiday's return should come as a huge sigh of relief for Sixers fans. Evan Turner, who injured his ankle Wednesday night against Houston, is also in the lineup.
Evan Turner, SF12/21/2012 12:17:00 PM
Description: Sixers guard Evan Turner is probable for Friday's game against Atlanta while dealing with a sprained left ankle.
Insight: Turner is averaging 15.1 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 4.2 apg for the season and had been even better in Jrue Holiday's absence, as the team's starting point guard, until getting hurt in Houston on Wednesday.
Jrue Holiday, G12/21/2012 12:11:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia point guard Jrue Holiday has been upgraded to probable for Friday's game with Atlanta. Holiday has been out with a sprained left foot, but said he would return on Friday after missing four games (all losses).
Insight: Obviously the 76ers need his 18.4 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 8.9 apg and 1.5 spg as much as fantasy owners.
Jrue Holiday, G12/20/2012 8:32:00 PM
Description: 76ers point guard Jrue Holiday will be a game-time decision for Friday's tilt with Atlanta. Holiday has been out with a sprained left foot.
Insight: He's been a game-time decision the last two games and hasn't played in either of them. If he misses Friday's game, Holiday's next chance to play will be Sunday against Brooklyn.
Jrue Holiday, G12/19/2012 7:24:00 PM
Description: Sixers point guard Jrue Holiday won't be on the court for Wednesday's game against Houston. He's still recovering from a foot injury.
Insight: Holiday will miss his fourth game in a row. Nick Young has started the past three games in Holiday's absence, averaging 15.3 ppg in that stretch.
Jrue Holiday, G12/19/2012 12:12:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia 76ers point guard Jrue Holiday (foot) is doubtful for Wednesday's game against Houston.
Insight: Holiday (18.4 ppg, 8.9 apg, 3.9 rpg) has missed three consecutive games. He ranks third in the NBA in assists per game behind Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul. Evan Turner would get the start at PG if Holiday can't play.
Dorell Wright, F12/18/2012 11:19:00 PM
Description: The 76ers have finally turned to Dorell Wright over the last three games and he rewarded their confidence with 25 points on 8-of-18 shooting (7-13 3PT), five rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes Tuesday.
Insight: Wright averaged 12.9 ppg, 6.4 rpg and 2.1 spg with 2.4 3-pointers in 30 minutes per game over his first seven games but hadn't scored in double figures at all while averaging 17 mpg his last 17 games. His playing time will likely decline again when point guard Jrue Holiday returns from a foot sprain and pushes Evan Turner back to small forward.
Jrue Holiday, G12/18/2012 10:57:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia 76ers point guard Jrue Holiday (foot) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against Dallas and will be a game-time decision.
Insight: Holiday (18.4 ppg, 8.9 apg, 3.9 rpg) has missed two consecutive games. He ranks third in the NBA in assists per game behind Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul. Evan Turner would get the start at PG if Holiday can't play.
Nick Young, G12/17/2012 10:48:00 AM
Description: Sixers guard Nick Young started at SF on Sunday against the Lakers with Evan Turner and Jason Richardson in the backcourt for ailing Jrue Holiday.
Insight: Young was a scoring machine, throwing up a 30-point effort on 12-for-23 shooting. That's what you can expect from Young when you give him the green light.
Jrue Holiday, G12/17/2012 10:18:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia 76ers point guard Jrue Holiday (foot) missed Sunday's game with Kobe Bryant and the Lakers and is questionable for Tuesday's game against Dallas.
Insight: Holiday (18.4 ppg, 8.9 apg, 3.9 rpg) has missed two consecutive games. He ranks third in the NBA in assists per game behind Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul.
Jrue Holiday, G12/15/2012 3:22:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia 76ers point guard Jrue Holiday (foot) is listed as a game-time decision Sunday against the Lakers after going through shooting drills Saturday.
Insight: Holiday (18.4 ppg, 8.9 apg, 3.9 rpg) missed Friday's game with a sprained right foot. Holiday ranks third in the NBA in assists and is second in scoring among players averaging at least eight assists per game.
Evan Turner, SFHot12/14/2012 10:13:00 PM
Description: Serving as starting point guard with Jrue Holiday (foot) sidelined, Evan Turner scored a team-high 22 points with 10 boards, five assists and a steal Friday in a Sixers loss.
Insight: Turner shot 9-of-16 and made both of his 3-point attempts but also turned the ball over a season-high five times. He's shooting 47 percent during his active streak of 15 straight double-digit scoring games.
Spencer Hawes, C12/14/2012 10:11:00 PM
Description: Sixers PF/C Spencer Hawes had a season-high 18 points (8-of-15 FG) Friday against the Pacers, his third straight double-digit scoring game.
Insight: Hawes has attempted 10 or more shots in four of his last five games after failing to do that for eight straight games. He's still splitting center minutes with Kwame Brown and Lavoy Allen, however, which limits his value.
Royal Ivey, G12/14/2012 1:30:00 PM
Description: Sixers guard Royal Ivey is expected to miss Friday's game against Indiana with a strained right groin and a strep throat.
Insight: Ivey hasn't been fantasy-worthy in any of his first eight seasons in the league because he's a defensive specialist. With Jrue Holiday also likely to miss, it will mean extra time for Evan Turner, Nick Young and Jason Richardson.
Jrue Holiday, G12/14/2012 1:28:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday is unlikely to play in Friday's game against Indiana after an MRI revealed a sprained left foot and he was last seen in a walking boot.
Insight: The Sixers consider him a game-time decision for Friday's matchup with Indiana, but you should be making plans to be without him. The Sixers will likely start Evan Turner, Nick Young and Jason Richardson.
Jrue Holiday, G12/13/2012 3:44:00 PM
Description: An MRI on Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday revealed a sprained left foot.
Insight: The Sixers consider him a game-time decision for Friday's matchup with Indiana. Malik Wayns (2.7 ppg) could get the start at point guard Friday if Holiday doesn't get cleared to play.
Jrue Holiday, G12/10/2012 10:30:00 PM
Description: Sixers point guard Jrue Holiday netted 25 points Monday in a win over the Pistons.
Insight: Holiday struggled mightily in a loss to the Celtics on Saturday night (4-of-13 shooting, 11 points) but he was on from the start Monday against Detroit. The fourth year point guard has now distributed at least seven assists in eight of his last nine appearances.
Nick Young, G12/10/2012 4:20:00 PM
Description: Sixers guard Nick Young is questionable for Monday's game against Detroit with a hyperextended left big toe. This injury could last a while.

Andrew Bynum, C12/10/2012 10:03:00 AM
Description: Sixers center Andrew Bynum's agent said the swelling in his client's knees is greatly reduced. SOURCE: philly.com
Insight: Bynum has bone bruises and weakened cartilage in both knees. While Bynum's agent isn't the most reliable source of information, we're looking for any inkling that the center might return this season. Bynum will have his knees reevaluated on Dec. 20.
Thaddeus Young, FHot12/8/2012 9:57:00 PM
Description: Sixers forward Thaddeus Young is averaging 17.7 points and 7.5 rebounds during his current streak of 10 straight double-digit scoring games.
Insight: Young led Philadelphia with 22 points in a 92-79 loss at Boston Saturday. He's shooting 52.2 percent from the field but his value is held back by poor foul shooting and a lack of 3-pointers.
Evan Turner, SF12/8/2012 9:44:00 AM
Description: Evan Turner has torched the Celtics this season. After scoring 25 against them in a win earlier in the season, the Sixers guard broke through for a season-high 26 in an overtime win over Boston on Friday night.
Insight: Turner must be exhausted after playing 45 of a possible 53 minutes on Friday night. Now he has to turn around and play the Celtics again Saturday night in Beantown.
Royal Ivey, G12/7/2012 1:42:00 PM
Description: Sixers guard Royal Ivey is expected to miss Friday's game against Boston with a strained right groin.
Insight: Ivey hasn't been fantasy-worthy in any of his first eight seasons in the league because he's a defensive specialist. His absence should help the Celtics guards.
Nick Young, G12/7/2012 1:40:00 PM
Description: Sixers guard Nick Young is out for Friday's game against Boston with a hyperextended left big toe. This injury could last a while.
Insight: Young has already missed two games and was held to less the 10 points in the four games before that. Jason Richardson will see plenty of minutes as will Dorell Wright.
Dorell Wright, F12/4/2012 9:55:00 PM
Description: Even with Nick Young (toe) out, 76ers guard-forward Dorell Wright only played 16 mpg over the last two games.
Insight: Wright got off to an excellent start and was playing major minutes while Jason Richardson was out. He's been a non-factor since Richardson returned and can be dropped in all leagues.
Nick Young, G12/4/2012 11:32:00 AM
Description: Sixers guard Nick Young is questionable for Tuesday's game against Minnesota. He's dealing with a hyper-extended toe. he'll be a game-time decision.

Nick Young, GCold12/1/2012 9:15:00 PM
Description: Sixers guard Nick Young wasn't available for Saturday's game against Chicago. He's dealing with a hyper-extended toe.
Insight: Young has been held to single-digit points in each of his last four games. He's shooting just 36 percent from the field over that span.
Jason Richardson, SG11/30/2012 9:22:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard Jason Richardson made 9-of-17 from the field (4-of-8 3PT) for 22 points with five rebounds and two steals Friday.
Insight: Richardson was coming off two single-digit scoring efforts after posting 12 or more points in five straight. He's been good for 2-3 threes per game this season with solid rebounding and steal numbers.
Evan Turner, SFHot11/30/2012 9:17:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia G/F Evan Turner led all scorers with his third game with 25 points Friday against Charlotte, his third game with 22 or more points in his last four.
Insight: Turner has been on fire after a frigid start, scoring in double figures in eight straight games and shooting 51.4 percent from the field in that span. He also pulled down 10 rebounds with a steal and a block Friday.
Evan Turner, SFHot11/27/2012 10:05:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia G/F Evan Turner kicked in a game-high 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting with four rebounds, four assists and two threes Tuesday against Dallas.
Insight: Typical production from Turner as of late. The forward has scored in double figures in seven straight games. He's made 48.9 percent of his shots from the field during that stretch.
Spencer Hawes, C11/27/2012 11:38:00 AM
Description: Sixers PF/C Spencer Hawes is probable for Tuesday's game against Dallas. He's been dealing with a sprained left knee.
Insight: The 7-foot-1 Hawes has been limited to about 20 minutes-per-game which keeps him from being fantasy worthy. He's averaging 7.8 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 1.6 apg and 1.4 bpg.
Jrue Holiday, GHot11/26/2012 11:10:00 AM
Description: 76ers guard Jrue Holiday led Philadelphia to victory Sunday over Phoenix with 33 points and 13 assists. He only turned the ball over twice.
Insight: Holiday is simply getting better and better. He's averaging a career-high 18.6 ppg and 9.2 apg and has become a must-start point guard. He just needs to keep his turnovers down, which he's done the last two games (26/4 assist-to-turnover ratio).
Jason Richardson, SG11/25/2012 11:06:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard Jason Richardson is questionable for Sunday's game against Phoenix with a sprained left ankle.
Insight: Richardson (13.4 ppg) has posted double-digit points in six of his last seven games and is hitting 44 percent from three-point range (24-for-54).
Evan Turner, SFHot11/24/2012 10:04:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia G/F Evan Turner has scored in double figures in five straight games, including a season-high 26 Saturday versus Oklahoma City.
Insight: Turner hit 10-of-17 from the field and 6-of-7 from the foul line while adding five boards, four assists and two steals. Turner only shot 36.3 percent from the field his first eight games but has knocked down 33-of-67 (.493) his last five.
Thaddeus Young, F11/24/2012 9:53:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia forward Thaddeus Young reached 20 points for the first time this season Saturday but he didn't stop there, finishing with 29 points on 13-of-23 shooting. Young also pulled down a season-high 15 boards.
Insight: Young has started all 13 games but until Saturday had put up similar scoring numbers to the last two seasons. Saturday's effort raises his scoring and rebounding averages to 13.8 and 8.2, respectively. He's best utilized in leagues that use shooting percentage since he hits at a near-50 percent clip from the field.
Andrew Bynum, C11/21/2012 6:54:00 PM
Description: The Delaware News Journal is reporting that Sixers center Andrew Bynum may need to have season-ending knee surgery.
Insight: A decision on whether or not Bynum will need surgery should come within the next month. Either way, it doesn't look like we'll be seeing him on the hardwood anytime soon.
Nick Young, G11/20/2012 10:39:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia guard Nick Young put up a season-high 23 points Tuesday in a win over the Raptors.
Insight: Young has struggled this season but Tuesday's outing could be a sign that he's ready to turn things around. With that said, he's not much of a distributor and he rarely gets rebounds, so Young's fantasy value hinges largely on his scoring output.
Jrue Holiday, G11/20/2012 10:22:00 PM
Description: Point guard Jrue Holiday led Philadelphia to victory with 19 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds Tuesday against Toronto.
Insight: He also demonstrated some nice hustle by coming up with three steals. Holiday and the Sixers head to Cleveland for another game Wednesday night.
Nick Young, F11/19/2012 10:15:00 AM
Description: Sixers guard Nick Young left Sunday's game with Cleveland because he was feeling dizzy.
Insight: Young had 13 points in just 16 minutes before leaving the game. He can score when asked and is averaging 9.5 ppg off the Sixers' bench. Philadelphia plays four times this week and will need him in the lineup, but we await a more thorough diagnosis.
Andrew Bynum, C11/18/2012 2:30:00 PM
Description: ESPN's Brian Windhorst reports that Sixers center Andrew Bynum may have made his knee injury worse by bowling recently.
Insight: Bynum does not appear close to a return. For now, Kwame Brown (3.0 ppg, 3.3 rpg) will continue to start at center for Philadelphia. Brown offers almost no fantasy value.
Jrue Holiday, GHot11/16/2012 10:45:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia point guard Jrue Holiday scored 26 points Friday against the Jazz, his second-best scoring output of the season. He also had seven assists, six rebounds, one block and four turnovers.
Insight: Holiday's one blemish has been his lack of ball security -- he's turning it over 5.2 times per game. However, fantasy owners have received 19.1 points, 8.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.4 3-pointers made per game so the TOs are tolerable to say the least.
Thaddeus Young, F11/16/2012 10:36:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia forward Thaddeus Young bounced back from his first single-digit scoring effort of the season with 14 points and eight boards Friday night versus Utah.
Insight: Young has started all nine games this season and scored double-digit points in eight of them. He's also grabbed five-plus rebounds in all nine games and is averaging 1.6 steals per game.
Dorell Wright, F11/16/2012 10:35:00 PM
Description: Sixers F Dorell Wright only played five minutes off the bench Friday night against the Jazz, scoring zero points on 0-of-2 shooting.
Insight: Wright's minutes have declined in each of the last three games since Jason Richardson returned to the starting lineup from an ankle injury. If this usage rate continues he'll no longer be worth owning in fantasy leagues.
Jason Richardson, SG11/16/2012 10:31:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard Jason Richardson scored 20 points Friday night for the second time in three games since returning from an ankle injury. Richardson added eight rebounds and two steals.
Insight: Richardson hit 5-of-7 from 3-point range and 7-of-12 overall Friday against the Jazz. He's played 35-plus minutes in two of three games since returning.
Andrew Bynum, C11/16/2012 6:42:00 PM
Description: The news regarding 76ers center Andrew Bynum just keeps getting worse. Bynum said Friday that he's experienced a setback in his rehab and now has swelling in both knees. SOURCE: Chris Vito, Delaware County Daily Times
Insight: Bynum's timetable has already been reset twice. He's targeting Dec. 10 for a return to basketball activities but we aren't hopeful. The 76ers estimate that Bynum will need an additional 1-4 weeks for conditioning, training and practice before being able to resume playing significant minutes, so there's a good chance we won't see him make a fantasy impact until January, if at all this season.
Jason Richardson, SG11/12/2012 6:48:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard Jason Richardson will make his return from a sprained ankle Monday night against the Bucks.
Insight: Richardson hasn't played since November 4th against the Knicks. He averaged 18.3 ppg in three games versus Milwaukee last season.
Andrew Bynum, C11/12/2012 12:57:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia center Andrew Bynum (knee) saw Dr. David W. Altchek of New York's Hospital for Special Surgery on Nov. 5 and had his timetable to resume basketball activity extended by an additional three weeks. This is the second time he's had his healing period extended. SOURCE: NBA.com
Insight: Barring another setback, Bynum would be cleared to resume normal basketball activity by approximately Dec. 10. The 76ers estimate that Bynum will need an additional 1-4 weeks for conditioning, training and practice before being able to resume playing significant minutes, so there's a good chance we won't see him make a fantasy impact until January.
Jason Richardson, SG11/12/2012 10:06:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia 76ers guard Jason Richardson (ankle) is expected to be back in the lineup Monday. SOURCE: CSN Philly
Insight: Richardson should get plenty of shots and minutes as Philadelphia's starting two-guard. Dorell Wright will likely be pushed back to the bench but he should still see enough minutes to be fantasy worthy. Nick Young can be dropped.
Dorell Wright, F11/10/2012 10:03:00 PM
Description: Sixers F Dorell Wright has scored in double figures five times in six games, including a 15-point effort Saturday against the Raptors.
Insight: Wright has been a stat sheet stuffer thus far, providing owners with 12.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.8 steals, 0.6 blocks and 2.2 3-pointers per game. He's unlikely to lose much playing time when Jason Richardson returns from an injury, even though he'll probably move back to the bench.
Evan Turner, SF11/9/2012 10:30:00 PM
Description: Sixers shooting guard Evan Turner went off for a season-high 25 points Friday in a victory over Boston.
Insight: He accomplished this on 9-of-19 shooting including 2-of-2 from three-point range. Turner's 11 rebounds also matched a season-high.
Jrue Holiday, GHot11/9/2012 10:24:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia point guard Jrue Holiday distributed a career-high 14 assists Friday night in a win over the Celtics.
Insight: Holiday has gotten off to a remarkable start. In five games this season, the 22-year-old is averaging 18.6 ppg and 10.4 apg.
Kwame Brown, C11/9/2012 7:14:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia center Kwame Brown's strained left calf will keep him out of the lineup Friday against the Celtics.
Insight: Brown has only appeared in one game for the Sixers this season, scoring four points in 11 minutes Monday against the Knicks. There's no reason to keep an eye on him in fantasy.
Jason Richardson, SG11/9/2012 7:09:00 PM
Description: 76ers guard Jason Richardson will miss his third game in a row Friday night against Boston. He's still recovering from a sprained ankle.
Insight: Richardson is doubtful for Saturday's game against the Raptors. Dorell Wright will get the start in Richardson's place.
Jason Richardson, SG11/9/2012 1:55:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia starting SG Jason Richardson is doubtful for Friday's game against Boston. He's dealing with a sprained left ankle.
Insight: Wright is getting most of Richardson's minutes and is averaging 11.5 ppg and 7.8 rpg this season. He is a nice fantasy value until Richardson returns.
Nick Young, FCold11/8/2012 10:23:00 AM
Description: Sixers guard Nick Young loves to shoot, but he hasn't been able to hit anything this season. In four games, Young is shooting just 24.4 percent from the field.
Insight: Young is just 10-of-41 from the field and 4-of-18 from 3-point range. Philadelphia coach Doug Collins did the only thing he could do to curb Young's shooting Wednesday; he kept him on the bench. Young scored two points on 1-of-7 shooting in 18 minutes.
Jrue Holiday, GHot11/8/2012 10:18:00 AM
Description: Sixers point guard Jrue Holiday continued his strong play Wednesday against the Hornets with 14 points, 12 assists and five rebounds, though he did turn the ball over seven times (5.0 TOs per game).
Insight: Holiday has played 39 minutes and averaged 15 field goal attempts per game compared to 34 and 12.8 last season. We expect his shot attempts to drop once Evan Turner finds his stroke and Andrew Bynum and Jason Richardson return from injuries.
Dorell Wright, F11/7/2012 10:48:00 AM
Description: Sixers small forward Dorell Wright started at SG for the injured Jason Richardson (ankle) against New York Monday night and posted 14 points and nine rebounds.
Insight: Richardson's absence opens up an opportunity for Wright. He is averaging 13 ppg and 8.3 rpg this season and is a nice fantasy value until Richardson returns.
Jason Richardson, SG11/7/2012 10:46:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia starting SG Jason Richardson is expected to miss Wednesday's game against New Orleans. He's dealing with a sprained left ankle.
Insight: Richardson's absence will open up an opportunity for Dorell Wright and Nick Young to become a viable fantasy options. Wright is averaging 13 ppg and 8.3 rpg this season and is a nice fantasy value until Richardson returns.
Nick Young, F11/6/2012 12:33:00 PM
Description: Starting SG Richardson's ankle injury could open the door for Nick Young to become a viable low-end fantasy option.
Insight: Dorell Wright started for Richardson Monday night against New York and posted 14 points and seven rebounds. Young totaled nine points and three rebound off the bench in 19 minutes.
Dorell Wright, F11/6/2012 12:30:00 PM
Description: Sixers small forward Dorell Wright started at SG for the injured Jason Richardson (ankle) against New York Monday night.
Insight: Richardson's absence will open up an opportunity for Wright and Nick Young to become a viable fantasy option. Wright posted 14 points and seven rebounds. Young totaled nine points and three rebound off the bench.
Jason Richardson, SG11/6/2012 12:26:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia starting SG Jason Richardson sprained his left ankle Sunday when he ran into a cameraman. He was last seen in a walking boot which doesn't bode well for a quick return to the court.
Insight: Richardson's absence will open up an opportunity for Dorell Wright and Nick Young to become a viable fantasy options. Wright started for Richardson Monday against New York posting 14 points and seven rebounds. Young totaled nine points and three rebound off the bench.
Dorell Wright, F11/5/2012 9:54:00 PM
Description: Sixers forward Dorell Wright started at SF with Evan Turner moving to SG in place of Jason Richardson Monday against the Knicks. Wright scored 14 points with nine rebounds and two 3-pointers in the loss.
Insight: Wright has scored double-digit points in all three games this season while grabbing 8.3 rebounds per game. He should be active in fantasy lineups even when he returns to the bench.
Evan Turner, SF11/5/2012 9:50:00 PM
Description: Sixers G/F Evan Turner is only averaging 9.0 ppg this season on 28 percent shooting.
Insight: Turner was handed the starting small forward job this season but he hasn't done much offensively. He has helped fantasy owners with 8.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game but he'll need to improve his shooting to avoid losing playing time to Dorell Wright.
Dorell Wright, F11/5/2012 6:06:00 PM
Description: The 76ers will start Dorell Wright, not Nick Young, in place of Jason Richardson (ankle) Monday. SOURCE: Jeff Skversky, ABC Philadelphia
Insight: Wright is averaging 12.5 ppg with 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.5 3-pointers in two games this season. He's worth a start while Richardson is out. Young has shot just 5-of-19 in two games but he'll continue to see 25 minutes per game. Starting small forward Evan Turner has also struggled, shooting just 4-of-16. Turner will move to SG with Wright in the lineup.
Nick Young, F11/5/2012 10:22:00 AM
Description: Starting SG Richardson's ankle injury could open the door for Nick Young to become a viable fantasy option.
Insight: Young is a career 42.8 percent shooter and should improve on Sunday's (2-for-10) shooting statistics.
Jason Richardson, SG11/5/2012 10:15:00 AM
Description: Philadelphia starting SG Jason Richardson sprained his left ankle Sunday when he ran into a cameraman. He's already been ruled out of Monday's game.
Insight: Richardson's absence will open up an opportunity for Nick Young to become a viable fantasy option. Young played 30 minutes Sunday, but couldn't find his shot, going just 2-for-10 from the field. Young is a career 42.8 percent shooter and should improve on Sunday's numbers.
Jrue Holiday, G11/5/2012 10:12:00 AM
Description: Sixers point guard Jrue Holiday went off Sunday against the Knicks, scoring 27 points with seven assists in 40 minutes, but Philadelphia still lost to New York 100-84.
Insight: Holiday shot more than usual because starting SG Jason Richardson (ankle) left the game in the first quarter. Holiday only averaged 33.8 mpg last season, so the injury forced him to play additional minutes as well as take over some of the scoring workload. This situation may continue as Richardson has already been ruled out for Monday's contest.
Jrue Holiday, G11/1/2012 10:48:00 AM
Description: Point guard Jrue Holiday has agreed to a four-year, $41 million contract extension with the 76ers.
Insight: Holiday played well in Philadelphia's season opening win Wednesday against the Nuggets (14 points, 11 assists, six rebounds, two steals). He'll try and keep the momentum going in his next game Sunday at New York.
Spencer Hawes, C11/1/2012 9:28:00 AM
Description: Sixers power forward Spencer Hawes had a monster game Wednesday night against the Nuggets. He finished the evening with 16 points, 12 rebounds, five blocks and two steals.
Insight: The 7-foot-1 Hawes overpowered Denver in the low post. It's possible that Hawes, who came off the bench, could bump Thaddeus Young (13 points, five rebounds in 36 minutes) out of the starting lineup if he continues to perform like this.
Evan Turner, SF10/31/2012 2:57:00 PM
Description: Sixers guard/forward Evan Turner (sprained left ankle) is probable for Wednesday's game against Denver.
Insight: Turner averaged 9.4 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 2.8 apg, but will be asked to do much more this season with Andre Iguodala and Lou Williams playing in other cities. Turner could turn out to be a solid fantasy option.
Andrew Bynum, C10/31/2012 2:55:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia center Andrew Bynum's recovery from a right knee injury has gone slower than expected and he'll miss the season opener.
Insight: The 76ers said Bynum won't play again until he's completely pain-free, but at least he's begun "low-impact conditioning." No schedule for his return has been announced.
Lavoy Allen, C10/30/2012 9:20:00 PM
Description: Sixers center Lavoy Allen had his first double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds Friday against the Bobcats.
Insight: Allen has started the last four games and provided decent production, but Friday is likely the best you're going to get from him.
Lavoy Allen, C10/27/2012 10:03:00 AM
Description: Lavoy Allen will start at center for the 76ers in the season opener with Andrew Bynum (knee) out.
Insight: Bynum missed 124 games from 2007-11 before playing in 60 of 66 games last season and he's already having knee issues. Allen could be a solid late-round pick in deeper leagues.
Spencer Hawes, C10/26/2012 1:40:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia PF/C Spencer Hawes with come off the bench to start the season as coach Doug Collins announced on Thursday that Thaddeus Young would start for the 76ers at power forward.
Insight: Hawes will still see plenty of time, split between PF and C as the 76ers will be without newly acquired big man Andrew Bynum (knee) at the start of the season.
Thaddeus Young, F10/26/2012 1:35:00 PM
Description: Sixers forward Thaddeus Young will start at PF over Spencer Hawes, according to coach Doug Collins after Thursday's practice reports John Mitchell of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Insight: Young had an excellent preseason, averaging 14.8 ppg, 6.7 rpg and 1.3 apg. Collins also announced that Lavoy Allen would start at center for injured Andrew Bynum.
Andrew Bynum, C10/24/2012 5:00:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia center Andrew Bynum's recovery from a right knee injury has gone slower than expected and it looks like he'll be a longshot to play in next week's season opener.
Insight: The 76ers said Bynum won't play again until he's completely pain-free. Kwame Brown will probably start at the five while Bynum is out.
Thaddeus Young, F10/22/2012 10:02:00 PM
Description: Sixers forward Thaddeus Young made his case for a starting spot in Monday's exhibition game against the Knicks, scoring 22 points on 10-of-12 shooting in 38 minutes.
Insight: Philadelphia coach Doug Collins said he is considering Young for the starting PF spot over Spencer Hawes. Young did little to discourage his coach Monday.
Jason Richardson, SG10/22/2012 9:58:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia guard Jason Richardson scored 23 points on 8-of-17 shooting (6-of-12 3PT) in Monday's exhibition game versus New York.
Insight: Richardson is likely to be the 76ers' starting two-guard this season. He can drain the long ball and could turn in solid value for a mid- to late-round pick (Yahoo! ADP: 120.3).
Evan Turner, SF10/22/2012 12:15:00 PM
Description: Sixers forward Evan Turner sprained his left ankle Sunday against the Celtics and had to leave the game.
Insight: Turner will have a little over a week to rest up before Philadelphia's season opener October 31st against Denver.
Thaddeus Young, F10/20/2012 11:15:00 AM
Description: Sixers coach Doug Collins told Comcast Sports Philadelphia that he is "leaning toward" starting Thaddeus Young at power forward this season rather than Spencer Hawes.
Insight: Hawes got 29 starts for the 76ers last season while Young received just one. At age 24, both players have upside but Young has been the more consistent performer during the preseason, averaging 13.4 ppg to Hawes' 9.6.
Thaddeus Young, F10/19/2012 10:07:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia forward Thaddeus Young blew up for 24 points Friday night in an exhibition win over Brooklyn.
Insight: This was Young's highest scoring output of the preseason. He's started the Sixers' past three games after coming off the bench in the first two. It looks like he could open the year in the starting frontcourt alongside Andrew Bynum and Evan Turner.
Dorell Wright, F10/17/2012 10:22:00 PM
Description: Sixers SF Dorell Wright started and scored 17 points in Wednesday's preseason game against the Cavaliers.
Insight: Wright will be coming off the bench this season behind Evan Turner so his fantasy value will be limited, especially since he'll have to share second-unit shots with Nick Young, who scored 19 points Wednesday, and Thaddeus Young, who scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Dorell Wright, F10/16/2012 12:09:00 PM
Description: Sixers SF Dorell Wright along with SG Jason Richardson should be doing most of the three-point shooting for Philadelphia this season, but Wright will do his off the bench.
Insight: Wright averaged 16.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in 82 games in 2010-11, making him a popular target early in drafts last season, but he disappointed with a 10.3 ppg average. If he wants more playing time in Philadelphia, he'll have to play "Doug Collins" type defense not Golden State Warriors defense. He could be a late-round pick with upside.
Nick Young, F10/13/2012 10:24:00 PM
Description: Though he didn't get the start, 76ers guard Nick Young still led his team in scoring with 21 points off the bench Saturday in an exhibition loss to Brooklyn.
Insight: Young wasn't particularly efficient (just 5-of-14 shooting) but he was able to offset that by producing four assists and going a perfect 9-for-9 from the charity stripe. Expect Young to play a James Harden-like sixth man role for the Sixers this season.
Thaddeus Young, F10/5/2012 2:55:00 PM
Description: Sixers forward Thaddeus Young is dealing with a sprained ankle, according to Philadelphia beat writer Bob Cooney. It doesn't sound serious.
Insight: Young has been coming off the bench for two seasons and playing solid ball. He averaged 12.8 ppg and 5.2 rpg in just under 28 minutes-per-game in 63 games last season.
Andrew Bynum, C10/1/2012 1:10:00 PM
Description: Marc Stein is reporting that newly acquired Sixers center Andrew Bynum will not participate in any basketball activites for three weeks. He will be allowed to do conditioning drills.
Insight: Bynum went to Germany and had a restorative procedure similar to the one Kobe Bryant and Alex Rodriguez recently underwent. It's likely that the 76ers are just being extra careful, but it is worth paying attention to before you use a top-15 pick on Bynum.
Andrew Bynum, C9/25/2012 7:47:00 PM
Description: According to 76ers beat writer Tom Moore, Philadelphia GM Tony DiLeo said center Andrew Bynum came back from getting knee injections in Germany and said he feels "very good."
Insight: Bynum had a restorative procedure similar to the one Kobe Bryant and Alex Rodriguez recently underwent. The procedure won't affect his status for training camp. With the Sixers, Bynum will have a chance to be the No. 1 option for the first time in his career, making him a good bet to top his career numbers from a season ago.
Evan Turner, SF9/13/2012 8:37:00 PM
Description: Evan Turner will start at small forward for the Sixers but he'll also be the team's backup point guard, according to CSN Philadelphia.
Insight: The versatile Turner can handle big minutes at PG, SG and SF, so he should see plenty of playing time this season. Turner averaged 9.4 ppg, 5.8 rpg and 2.8 apg in 26 mpg last season. His scoring and rebounding numbers are likely to increase.
Thaddeus Young, F8/18/2012 6:42:00 PM
Description: According to CSNPhilly.com, Sixers coach Doug Collins said he plans to use forward Thaddeus Young off the bench this upcoming season.
Insight: Young only started one game last season and averaged 12.8 ppg and 5.2 rpg. Expect similar numbers this season, though there is potential for improvement now that the team has added Andrew Bynum.
Andrew Bynum, C8/13/2012 9:49:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia center Andrew Bynum is scheduled to undergo a minor knee operation in Germany next month.
Insight: The 76ers don't expect the surgery to affect Bynum's availablity for the start of the regular season.
Jason Richardson, SG8/13/2012 9:34:00 PM
Description: The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Jason Richardson is likely to be the starting shooting guard for the 76ers next season. Richardson was acquired last week in the Dwight Howard trade.
Insight: It seems like Richardson has been in the league forever but really he's only 31 and despite all the drama he and his teammates experienced during the "Dwightmare," Richardson was still a fairly productive scorer for the Magic in 2011-12 (11.6 ppg). With that said, he'll likely be sharing the floor with up-and-comers Nick Young (14.2 ppg) and Evan Turner (9.4 ppg, 5.8 rpg), so there's no guarantee that Richardson will be able to equal the point total he amassed in Orlando last season.
Andrew Bynum, C8/10/2012 9:43:00 PM
Description: Center Andrew Bynum is the newest member of the Philadelphia 76ers. He was shipped to the Sixers Friday as part of a four-team trade that brought center Dwight Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Insight: Bynum will be asked to carry more of the scoring burden in Philadelphia than he did when he was alongside Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol in Los Angeles. As the focal point of the 76ers' offense, it's reasonable to expect the 24-year-old to reach 20 ppg next season.
Royal Ivey, G7/28/2012 8:48:00 PM
Description: Royal Ivey has come to terms with the 76ers on a new contract. Ivey appeared in 34 games for Oklahoma City last season.
Insight: Ivey hasn't been fantasy-worthy in any of his first eight seasons in the league (3.4 ppg, 1.1 rpg, 1.1 apg in 437 career games) and there's no reason to think he'll be any more productive in 2012-13.
Kwame Brown, C7/13/2012 8:54:00 PM
Description: Center Kwame Brown and the Philadelphia 76ers have come to terms on a two year $6 million contract.
Insight: This will be the seventh team Brown has played for in 12 NBA seasons. He averaged 6.3 ppg and 6.4 rpg while injuries limited him to just nine appearances for the Warriors last season. Brown, the No. 1 overall pick in 2001's NBA Draft, has never lived up to expectations and will probably go undrafted in most fantasy leagues next season.
Dorell Wright, F7/10/2012 7:24:00 PM
Description: The Warriors have agreed to trade forward Dorell Wright to the Sixers, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
Insight: Wright averaged 16.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in 82 games in 2010-11, making him a popular target early in drafts last season, but he disappointed with a 10.3 ppg average. Golden State then selected Harrison Barnes No. 7 overall in this past draft, making Wright expendable. The 76ers are in great need of outside shooting, so Wright may receive ample playing time, but right now Andre Iguodala, Thaddeus Young and 2012 draftee Moe Harkless stand in his way at small forward.
Elton Brand, F7/6/2012 8:04:00 PM
Description: Philadelphia will use its amnesty clause on veteran forward Elton Brand.
Insight: Dallas is said to be interested in acquiring the 33-year-old power forward. Brand registered 11 ppg on 7.2 rpg last season for the 76ers.
Nick Young, F7/6/2012 2:59:00 PM
Description: Former Clippers/Wizards guard Nick Young should be a solid fantasy shooter with his new team in Philadelphia. The 76ers lacked a consistent outside threat for all of 2011.
Insight: Young should be the Sixers best three-point shooter in 2012. He is a career 37.8 percent shooter from long range. He won't help much on the boards or dishing the ball, but he averaged 14.2 ppg between the two teams he played for last year.
