Salvador Perez, C, KAN4/27/2015 11:08:00 AM
Description: Royals catcher Salvador Perez is just 2-for-16 with six strikeouts against Indians ace Corey Kluber.
Insight: Perez has looked good in the early going. He has a .314 BA with an .805 OPS and should be a solid catching option all season. Just not in Monday's matchup.
Evan Gattis, C, HOU4/26/2015 8:02:00 PM
Description: Astros designated hitter Evan Gattis came up big Sunday against the Athletics.
Insight: With Houston down 6-5 in the ninth with two outs, Gattis roped an RBI double which ended up being the game-winning hit. He finished with two hits and four RBI in five at-bats.
Derek Norris, C, SDP4/26/2015 6:47:00 PM

Brian McCann, C, NYY4/26/2015 3:31:00 PM
Description: Yankees catcher Brian McCann is 1-for-12 in his career against Mets starter Jonathan Niese.
Insight: McCann also has five strikeouts versus Niese, so if owners have another option at catcher, it would be wise to sit McCann.
Francisco Cervelli, C, PIT4/26/2015 3:21:00 PM
Description: Pirates catcher Francisco Cervelli is not in Sunday's starting lineup.
Insight: Cervelli is just getting his normal day of rest being Sunday is a day game, and the Pirates fly to Chicago afterward. Cervelli is off to a solid start both offensively and defensively as he is hitting .265/.321/.347 in 49 at-bats this season. He threw out a runner trying to steal in the bottom of the ninth on Saturday in the, 2-1, victory over the Diamondbacks.
Alex Avila, C, DET4/26/2015 12:13:00 PM
Description: Tigers catcher Alex Avila is not in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Indians.
Insight: The Tigers have used backup catcher James McCann quite a bit this month as a way to keep Avila fresh. Overall, Avila owners should like that, but it means he is going to miss more games than usual.
Yadier Molina, C, STL4/26/2015 11:44:00 AM
Description: Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina is not in Sunday's starting lineup against the Brewers.
Insight: Molina also didn't play on Saturday. He took a foul tip off his right knee on Friday, so the Cardinals want him to rest this early in the season. Tony Cruz will again be behind the plate.
Chris Iannetta, C, ANA4/25/2015 6:00:00 PM
Description: Angels catcher Chris Iannetta is not in the starting lineup on Saturday versus the Rangers.
Insight: It's just a normal day of rest. Backup catcher Drew Butera, who is 2-for-8 this season will start.
Yadier Molina, C, STL4/25/2015 3:50:00 PM
Description: Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina is not in Saturday's starting lineup.
Insight: No injury, just the normal day game after a night game off. Molina continues to bat around the .300 mark, though he seems to be missing power.

Description: Miami catcher Jarrod Saltalmacchia will likely miss the weekend series with Washington while on paternity leave.
Insight: J.T. Realmuto and Jhonatan Solano will cover the catching spot for the weekend.

Description: Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco is not in the starting lineup Friday's series opener against the Cubs.

Dioner Navarro, C, TOR4/23/2015 11:34:00 AM
Description: Blue Jays backup catcher Dioner Navarro has been placed on the 15-day disabled list.

Description: Mets catcher Anthony Recker is questionable for Thursday's game against Atlanta while sealing with a swollen right elbow.

Devin Mesoraco, C, CIN4/23/2015 9:48:00 AM
Description: Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco was not in the starting lineup Wednesday and is questionable for Thursday's game against Milwaukee.
Insight: Mesoraco did pinch hit on Tuesday night, but doesn't appear to be ready for everyday catching duties.
Wilin Rosario, C, COL4/22/2015 5:59:00 PM
Description: Rockies catcher/1B Wilin Rosario has been optioned to Triple-A Albuquergue.
Insight: Since he smacked 28 homers in 2012, Rosario has made little impact. He will get most of hs playing time at first base in the minors.
Matt Wieters, C, BAL4/22/2015 11:56:00 AM
Description: Orioles catcher Matt Wieters will catch in an extended spring training game on Friday to test out his elbow according to the Baltimore Sun.
Insight: This is the first time Wieters will throw at 100 percent since his surgery last month. It looks like Wieters will be ready to return to the bigs sometime in early May.
Nick Hundley, C, COL4/22/2015 9:34:00 AM
Description: Rockies catcher Nick Hundley had a triple and home run in the one-run loss to the Padres on Tuesday.

Jonathan Lucroy, C, MIL4/21/2015 7:41:00 PM
Description: Brewers manager Ron Roenicke told MLB.com that catcher Jonathan Lucroy will be out 4-6 weeks with his broken toe.
Insight: This puts Lucroy's return around late May. It's a big loss for owners and fantasy owners. Martin Maldonado and Juan Centeno will share the catching position in the meantime.
Devin Mesoraco, C, CIN4/21/2015 6:20:00 PM
Description: Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco is not in the starting lineup, but he can pinch hit on Tuesday versus the Brewers.
Insight: Mesoraco is dealing with a hip impingement and a family issue, but he was expected to start on Tuesday. He will not, though, he is with the team and could enter the game as a pinch hitter. Brayan Pena will start at catcher for Cincinnati.
Kevin Plawecki, C, NYM4/21/2015 3:53:00 PM
Description: Just called up Mets catcher Kevin Plawecki will make his major league debut Tuesday night.
Insight: He's a career .292 hitter with an .803 OPS in the minors so might have some low-end fantasy value.
Jonathan Lucroy, C, MIL4/21/2015 9:56:00 AM
Description: Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy is expected to be placed on the disabled list with a fractured left toe.
Insight: Lucroy hadn't been hitting much this season, but was coming off a very good 2014 season in which he raised his game to elite fantasy status (.301, 13 HR, 69 RBI, 73 runs, 4 steals).
Devin Mesoraco, C, CIN4/21/2015 9:40:00 AM
Description: Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco went home on Monday to attend a personal matter, but is expected to return to the team on Tuesday.
Insight: That doesn't mean Mesoraco will be in the lineup as he's still dealing with the hip issue, but perhaps he could pinch hit.
Travis d'Arnaud, C, NYM4/20/2015 10:39:00 AM
Description: Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud left Sunday's game against Miami and is expected to be placed on the 15-day disabled list due to a fractured right hand.
Insight: D'Arnaud got nailed in the seventh inning by a A.J. Ramos pitch. It's a horrible injury as d'Arnaud was in a groove at the plate, batting .317 with two homers and 10 RBI in 11 games. Anthony Recker should get most of the work, but the career .197 hitter has no fantasy value.
Derek Norris, C, SDP4/18/2015 11:42:00 AM
Description: Padres catcher Derek Norris will get Saturday off.
Insight: Routine day game after a night game off. He's batting .244 this season. Will Nieves will catch Tyson Ross.
Evan Gattis, C, HOU4/17/2015 11:29:00 PM
Description: Astros designated hitter Evan Gattis had two hits in the loss to the Angels on Friday.
Insight: Gattis is off to a very slow start, so it is nice to see him get two hits. Even with the pair of hits, Gattis is hitting .139 this season.
Devin Mesoraco, C, CIN4/17/2015 5:59:00 PM
Description: Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco is not cleared to catch yet, but he is available to pinch hit on Friday according to MLB.com.
Insight: Mesoraco has an impingement in his left hip, so it might be awhile until he starts catching again. For what it's worth, he is trying very hard to avoid the disabled list.
Jonathan Lucroy, C, MIL4/17/2015 11:07:00 AM
Description: Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy is 6-for-15 (.462) with a home run and a 1.217 OPS against Pirates left-hander Jeff Locke.
Insight: He's also walked five times for a .550 OBP. Lucroy broke out of an early season slump going 3-for-10 in the most recent series against St. Louis.

Description: Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI in the victory over the Phillies on Wednesday.
Insight: d'Arnaud hit his first homer of the season in the third inning and then scored on Lucas Duda's double in the sixth. d'Arnaud was one of TSN's fantasy sleepers at catcher, and he is off to a good start, hitting .333/.364/.533.
Miguel Montero, C, CHC4/15/2015 12:04:00 PM
Description: Cubs catcher Miguel Montero has good chance to go deep on Wednesday night.

Devin Mesoraco, C, CIN4/14/2015 10:59:00 AM
Description: Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco is doubtful for Tuesday's game against the Chicago Cubs to a left hip issue.
Insight: Mesoraco was scheduled to have an MRI on the hip, but we haven't heard any news. It can't be a good sign that the team brought up catcher Kyle Skipworth from the minors. Mesoraco was a huge factor in 2014 setting career marks in nearly every category including 25 HR, 80 RBI and an .893 OPS.
Devin Mesoraco, C, CIN4/13/2015 4:20:00 PM
Description: Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco sat out Sunday for a rest day, but it may also have been related to a left hip issue.
Insight: Mesoraco is scheduled to have an MRI on the hip, according to Cubs beat writer Mark Gonzales. Mesoraco was a huge factor in 2014 setting career marks in nearly every category including 25 HR, 80 RBI and an .893 OPS. This season has started very slowly for the Reds catcher.
Brayan Pena, C, CIN4/13/2015 10:32:00 AM
Description: Reds catcher Brayan Pena is doubtful for Monday's game against the Chicago Cubs due to a sprained left shoulder.
Insight: Regular starter Devin Mesoraco just won't get a day off for a while. Pena has no fantasy value.
