Rick Porcello, SP, DETHot7/27/2014 9:53:00 PM
Description: Tigers right-hander Rick Porcello allowed one unearned run on five hits, struck out six and walked none over seven innings Sunday against the Angels. Insight: After stranding less than 70 percent of his baserunners every year from 2010-13, Porcello has stranded a career-high 74.7 percent in 2014 and it has resulted in a career-low 3.24 ERA. He\'s gone 4-1 with a 2.18 ERA and a 0.97 WHIP over his last eight starts and is tied with Masahiro Tanaka, Sonny Gray and teammate Max Scherzer for first in the AL with 12 wins.

LaMichael James, RB, SFX7/27/2014 8:21:00 PM
Description: San Francisco RB/KR LaMichael James will miss at least a month with a dislocated left elbow, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. Insight: Earlier this spring, it looked as if the 49ers would enter training camp with major depth at running back, but Kendall Hunter tore his ACL on Friday, Marcus Lattimore (knee, hamstring) still is unable to practice and James will miss the entire preseason. The team plans to reduce Frank Gore\'s workload and rookie Carlos Hyde is now in position to see most of the work as a backup.
Teddy Bridgewater, QB, MIN7/27/2014 8:00:00 PM
Description: Teddy Bridgewater and Matt Cassel have been "pretty much splitting reps" so far in camp, according to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports. Insight: According to Glazer, Bridgewater has been more impressive than the Vikings expected. If Bridgewater can emerge as a viable NFL starter this season, it would be great for the fantasy value of Adrian Peterson, Cordarrelle Patterson and Kyle Rudolph.

 Dionte Christmas, G, PHO7/24/2014 8:24:00 PM
Description: There will be no Christmas in Phoenix this season, the team waived guard Dionte Christmas Thursday. Insight: The Suns are loaded in the backcourt with Goran Dragic, Isaiah Thomas, Tyler Ennis, Eric Bledsoe and Gerald Green. Christmass averaged just six minutes per game over 31 contests scoring 2.3 ppg.
 Jimmer Fredette, G, NOP7/24/2014 8:23:00 PM
Description: Guard Jimmer Fredette has signed a deal with New Orleans. Insight: Fredette finished last season averaging 5.6 ppg between Sacramento and Chicago. He\'s proven to be useless to fantasy owners because of limited minutes and not being able to fill up a box score.

Tyler Ennis, LW, BUF7/17/2014 3:34:00 PM
Description: The Sabres have signed Tyler Ennis to a multiyear contract extension. Insight: The 24-year-old had a career-high 21 goals and added 22 assists and 210 SOG over 80 games in 2013-14. The talent is lacking in Buffalo so he likely won\'t be much better than that in 2014-15.
 Jonathan Toews, C, CHI7/9/2014 1:26:00 PM
Description: The Blackhawks have signed Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane to matching eight-year, $84 million extensions. Insight: Toews is one of the top two-way players in the NHL. He had 68 points (28 goals) in 76 regular season games and 17 points (nine goals) in 19 postseason games this past season.
