Description: The Indianapolis Colts have signed veteran QB Kerry Collins today.
Insight: The Indianapolis Colts have signed veteran QB Kerry Collins today. Interestingly enough, this information came from Jim Irsay's Twitter page, but it's been all over the Internet for about 30 minutes now. Irsay's post read: "We have agreed to terms with Kerry Collins...more details to come". Obviously the Colts aren't comfortable with Curtis Painter and Dan Orlovsky as backups. They likely need better QBs behind Manning regardless of his health. This is also a precautionary move and should be cause for concern for Manning owners. Many feel that Manning won't be ready for Week 1... and some have said it could be longer. While Manning wants to play this year, he also remembers that his oldest brother's football career was cut short by a neck injury. These types of injuries are something you don't mess around with... and Manning appears to be playing it very safe. So are the Colts... by signing Collins.

Description: There is belief that the Titans will go with free agent QB Kerry Collins as the starter in Week One. SOURCE: NASHVILLE TENNESSEAN
Insight: Throwing Jake Locker out on the field early could be a disaster, but going with someone like Collins would be just as worse. With guys like Matt Hasselbeck expected to be out there, the Titans should try and aim a bit higher than Collins for their stop-gap option.

Description: The Titans have yet to slam the door on the idea of re-signing QB Kerry Collins. SOURCE: FOX SPORTS
Insight: Collins would be a last-resort option if trades and free agency doesn't happen. The team would then likely re-sign Collins and draft a prospect. Collins is not a fantasy option.

Description: With two touchdowns in Sunday's loss to the Colts, Collins reached 14 for the season, his best total since 2005.
Insight: Collins also reached 300 yards for the first time in a surprisingly useful season. The Titans have a lot to figure out between the coaching staff and quarterback position this off-season, so we'll see if the 38-year-old remains in Nashville -- or anywhere -- in 2011. (RapidDraft.com)

12/27/2010 12:03:00 AM
Description: Collins threw for 235 yards and two touchdowns but also tossed two interceptions in Sunday's loss at Kansas City.
Insight: The veteran completed just 14 of 37 passes for the game in building a solid case for the team to not bother including him in 2011 plans at quarterback. (RapidDraft.com)

12/10/2010 11:01:00 AM
Description: Collins threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns in Thursday night's loss to the Colts. All three scores went to tight ends.
Insight: Fantasy praise be to the quarterback who's playing from behind all night. Collins has long been a solid player, though this kind of line is much closer to an aberration than the norm. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: Collins returned to limited practice on Wednesday and is expected to start for the Titans on Sunday against the Jaguars.
Insight: Collins combined with Vince Young for a pair of touchdown passes in the first meeting between this teams after Young left with a knee injury. He's a decent fringe starting option against a bad Jaguars secondary. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: It looks like the Titans will roll with QB Kerry Collins after he met with Jacksonville reporters for Wednesday's conference call. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: After Rusty Smith failed to put points on the board against Houston last week, we aren't at all surprised Collins will get the nod against the Jaguars, despite coming off a calf injury. Collins really isn't much of a fantasy option, but his presence should free up some running room for Chris Johnson.

Description: Titans QB Kerry Collins (questionable, calf) reportedly looked good in early morning warmups Sunday. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Rookie Rusty Smith will get the nod against the Texans, but Collins could get the start Week Thirteen. It will be interesting to see what Smith can do against a shaky Texans secondary.

11/22/2010 11:01:00 PM
Description: Collins could be in line to start for the Titans the rest of the way in 2010 once his calf injury heals. Tennessee placed Vince Young on injured reserve on Monday.
Insight: Collins is a strong-armed veteran who previously played with Randy Moss in Oakland. He threw for 276 yards, three touchdowns and two picks in his lone full game so far this season. (RapidDraft.com)

11/20/2010 3:05:00 PM
Description: Collins is doubtful for Week 11 with a calf injury.
Insight: Vince Young is back as the starter anyway, but it has been noted that Young didn't appear limited upon replacing Collins in the Week 10 loss at Miami. That begs the question of why Young didn't start the game. We'll see if there's a brewing controversy once both are healthy. (RapidDraft.com)

11/15/2010 12:03:00 PM
Description: Collins left Sunday's game at Miami with an apparent calf injury, ceding the job to Vince Young for the rest of the game.
Insight: Regardless of how Collins does this week, the fact that Young finished the contest without health issues should mean that he'll start in Week 11. (RapidDraft.com)

11/14/2010 4:01:00 PM
Description: Titans QB Kerry Collins' second half could be in question after injuring himself right before the end of the first half against the Dolphins.
Insight: Collins was 9-for-20 passing and looked erratic at times. The team may bring in Vince Young, who was active, to jump start the offense after a slow start. Randy Moss has yet to record a catch.

Description: Titans QB Kerry Collins will get the start against the Dolphins. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: This is really good news for Randy Moss owners after Collins and Moss had practiced together all week. It's not known if Vince Young will still be active or not. Collins is only a very low-end QB2.

11/13/2010 1:21:00 PM
Description: It's being reported that Titans QB Kerry Collins is likely going to start Week Ten against the Dolphins. SOURCE: NASHVILLE TENNESSEAN
Insight: Vince Young was limited all week with an ankle and knee injury. Randy Moss owners will hope Collins gets the start after both hooked up a lot in practice. Collins is capable enough that the Titans shouldn't have to push Young to play.

11/13/2010 1:02:00 PM
Description: Collins took most of the first-team reps in practice on Friday and appears likely to start for the Titans on Sunday against Miami.
Insight: Collins previously played with Randy Moss in Oakland and has always possessed a strong arm. He matches up nicely with the Titans' big-play receivers. (RapidDraft.com)

9/20/2010 2:03:00 PM
Description: Collins entered Sunday's loss to the Steelers after three turnovers got starter Vince Young yanked. Coach Jeff Fisher has said Young will start again in Week 3, though.
Insight: Sunday's action at least places Collins among the backups more likely to be relevant again this season. Keep an eye on him as a fantasy backup should Young falter further. (RapidDraft.com)

8/16/2010 8:34:00 PM
Description: Kerry Collins is still the Titans' No. 2 QB, according to coach Jeff Fisher and offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger.
Insight: Collins is an expensive insurance policy to carry, but until Vince Young proves that he won't be regressing, he's a necessary one. (RapidDraft.com)

8/16/2010 11:03:00 AM
Description: Titans HC Jeff Fisher and OC Mike Heimerdinger both insist QB Kerry Collins is still the team's No. 2 quarterback. SOURCE: NASHVILLE TENNESSEAN
Insight: Collins is due $5.5 million in 2010, but Fisher claims that has no bearing on Collin's roster spot. He was held out of the team's first preseason game, but we should see an appearance from him this weekend. As bad as Collins was last year, he is still an improvement over Chris Simms and Rusty Smith.
