Description: Orioles closer Zach Britton earned his 21st save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday against the Angels.
Insight: Since the beginning of June, Britton (1.65 ERA, 0.90 WHIP) has had two rough outings, allowing four runs on June 20 and three on July 18, but he wasn't scored on in his other 24 appearances during that stretch. The 26-year-old left-hander was a failed starter, but he's found success as a reliever this year.
5/25/2014 9:52:00 PM
Description: Orioles left-hander Zach Britton picked up his second save of the season with a spotless ninth inning Sunday against Cleveland.
Insight: Britton has a 0.68 ERA and a 0.83 WHIP in 26 2/3 innings this season and appears to be the O's new closer. Darren O'Day may grab a save here or there but Britton is the guy to add.

Description: The Orioles have recalled lefthander Zach Britton from Single-A Aberdeen.
Insight: The O's desperately needed another bullpen arm in the wake of Friday's 18-inning, seven-hour marathon. According to Fox's Ken Rosenthal, the Orioles alerted Britton at 12:40 this morning that he would be needed for today's 1:05 start. If Miguel Gonzalez struggles early, Britton (2-3, 5.45 ERA) will likely be called upon to eat up some innings.
9/2/2013 12:44:00 PM
Description: The Orioles have recalled lefthanded starting pitcher Zach Britton from Triple-A Norfolk.
Insight: He seems destined for a mop-up/long relief role. When used in this capacity, Britton (2-3, 4.76 ERA in six major league starts this season) isn't a parcticularly appealing fantasy option.

Description: Zach Britton will start in place of Jason Hammel Tuesday against the Tigers. SOURCE: Brittany Ghiroli,
Insight: Britton is 3-2 with a 3.28 ERA in 11 starts for Triple-A Norfolk this season. His last start in the big leagues came on April 29th against the Mariners.
4/25/2013 3:50:00 PM
Description: Orioles starter Zach Britton will be called up from Triple-A and is expected to join the starting rotation.
Insight: Britton is a talented young lefty who was 5-2 with a 2.35 in his first 10 big league starts in 2011, but he finished up 6-9 with a 6.25 ERA in his final 18 and then had his 2012 season delayed by a shoulder impingement. He went 5-3 with a 5.07 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP in 60 1/3 innings last year and can be monitored from a distance.
Hot9/4/2012 9:58:00 PM
Description: Orioles starter Zach Britton won his fourth straight start with seven scoreless innings Tuesday against the Blue Jays.
Insight: Britton is a talented young lefty who was 5-2 with a 2.35 in his first 10 big league starts a season ago, but he finished up 6-9 with a 6.25 ERA in his final 18 and then had his 2012 season delayed by a shoulder impingement. The left-hander is 4-0 with a 0.94 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP in his last four starts and can be started in mixed leagues if the matchup is right.
Hot8/30/2012 6:09:00 PM
Description: Baltimore starter Zach Britton has been terrific over his last three starts, winning all three.
Insight: Britton had his best start of the season Thursday, striking out 10 and walking none in eight one-run innings against the White Sox. Britton was demoted to make room for Randy Wolf, but he's likely to make his next start since the rosters expand in two days.
8/18/2012 10:08:00 PM
Description: Baltimore starter Zach Britton held Detroit scoreless on six hits in seven innings Saturday night to win his second game of the season.
Insight: Britton has talent but he has been too erratic in his few starts this season to be counted on in most fantasy leagues.
8/1/2012 9:09:00 PM
Description: Baltimore starter Zach Britton got pummeled Wednesday against New York. The Yankees torched him for seven runs on seven hits before manager Buck Showalter took him out with two outs in the bottom of the third inning.
Insight: The Orioles are pretty desperate for starting pitching right now but if Britton (1-1, 8.35 ERA) turns in another performance like the one he had on Wednesday, he won't stay in the rotation for very long.
6/11/2012 4:43:00 PM
Description: Baltimore starter Zach Britton's (shoulder) had a 0.75 ERA in two rehab starts with Double-A Bowie. He's still got plenty of work left before being called up by the big club, but he's making good progress.
Insight: It will be interesting to see where he lands when his rehab work has been completed.
3/28/2012 10:23:00 PM
Description: Zach Britton's injury is starting to look more and more serious. Britton is now set to miss the next six weeks because of shoulder inflammation.
Insight: Baltimore's starting rotation is all kinds of complicated right now and the Britton injury certainly doesn't make things any simpler. Britton's shoulder issues should open the door for Brian Matusz (3.20 ERA this spring), Alfredo Simon (4-9, 4.90 last season) and Tsuyoshi Wada (9.00 this spring), who are all competing for the final spot in the Orioles' rotation.
3/26/2012 10:20:00 PM
Description: Zach Britton, who has been dealing with shoulder soreness this spring, will begin the year on the DL.
Insight: Britton showed plenty of potential as a rookie (11-11, 4.61 ERA) and with Baltimore's weak staff, Britton will get plenty of opportunities in 2012, assuming that he gets healthy in the near future.
3/21/2012 4:35:00 PM
Description: Zach Britton saw Dr. James Andrews on Wednesday and the good news is that no surgery is required on his sore left shoulder.
Insight: Britton was given an injection and will sit for the next seven-to-10 days. Britton's numbers last season were not fantasy-worthy (11-11, 4.61 ERA, 1.45 WHIP), but he certainly has the talent to contribute down the road. Never give up on 24-year-old left-handers, but at this point he probably shouldn't be selected on Draft Day.
