McGrady is a McHeadache

Tracy McGrady was forced out of the game with a knee injury on Monday.
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - I got a bit of grief the other day when I stated that Tracy McGrady has zero fantasy value following his trade to the New York Knicks.

Sure enough, in his first game with the Knicks, he started and threw a 26-point effort in my face. McGrady started that game and played 32 minutes, but didn't play much at the end of the game because of sore knees.

He played another 30 minutes on Monday night, but scored just 15 points and more importantly was forced out of the game with a knee injury.

And he's likely going to be MIA when the Knicks take the floor on Tuesday against rival Boston.

That's the problem with having McGrady on your fantasy team. You just can't reliably expect him to be in your lineup on a daily basis because he's always injured.

"Maybe I'll lace them up and play, but we'll see," said McGrady after Monday's game. "We'll see how it feels before the game."

I don't know about you, but it's difficult enough to fill my starting lineup with all the injuries around the NBA to add a known problem to my roster. It's one headache I'd rather not have, particularly when you know that even if he plays, he's only about 50-50 to finish the game.

For those of you that picked him up, your nightmare is about to begin. Will he play or won't he? Will he be able to actually finish a game?

In my fantasy league, there are players like C.J. Watson, Rasual Butler, Eddie House, Hakim Warrick and Robin Lopez still available. That may not sound as impressive as saying "I have McGrady in my lineup," but over the last week they have performed just as well. Better yet, they are likely to still be playing next week.
