Description: Giants running David Wilson (neck) tweeted that he passed all physical examinations and "everything turned out to be fine." He'll be reevaluated on Aug. 4.
Insight: Wilson left practice Tuesday with a "neck burner," which was a cause for concern because he sustained a career-threatening neck injury last season. The Giants aren't going to be able to count on him as anything more than a change-of-pace back behind Rashad Jennings, so there's no reason to draft him.

Description: Giants running David Wilson (neck) left Tuesday's practice with a "neck burner," according to Paul Schwartz of the NY Post.
Insight: Anything that involves Wilson's neck area is of concern because of his past history so we await further word.

Description: Giants running David Wilson (neck) tweeted he's been medically "cleared for everything."
Insight: Wilson will likely be a change-of-pace back and home-run threat behind workhorse Rashad Jennings.

Description: According to Tom Rock of Newsday, Giants co-owner John Mara said the team expects David Wilson (neck) to be medically cleared to play this season.
Insight: "We expect him to be playing ... all signs are he'll be ready to go," Mara said. Wilson has burned fantasy owners two years in a row and was terrible in 2013 even before his serious neck injury. He'll be a change-of-pace back and home-run threat behind workhorse Rashad Jennings if he's healthy in 2014.

Insight: Garafolo reported that Wilson will have another checkup before the start of camp, at which point the Giants are hoping he is medically cleared to play. It's a frustrating situation for Wilson and hopeful fantasy owners alike as the once-promising back averaged only 3.3 yards per carry and lost two fumbles in five games before his season-ending injury.

Description: Giants running back David Wilson (neck) is participating in OTAs.
Insight: The Giants expect Wilson to have full-contact clearance by training camp. Wilson averaged just 3.3 ypc and lost two fumbles in five games before suffering a season-ending neck injury. New York signed Rashad Jennings away from Oakland as insurance for Wilson.

Description: Giants coach Tom Coughlin said he expects running back David Wilson (neck surgery) to play in 2014, according to New York Daily News' Ralph Vacchiano.
Insight: The Giants protected themselves by signing Rashad Jennings and still have Peyton Hillis on the roster. Don't be surprised if they draft an RB in the mid-to-late rounds.

Insight: Wilson is having trouble getting clearance following his latest neck injury and some doctors are recommending that he retire. Injuries and poor play have limited the 2012 first round pick to just 115 rushing attempts in his first two seasons.

Description: The Giants placed David Wilson (neck) on injured reserve Thursday, according to Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com.
Insight: The Giants released a statement saying that Wilson had made "significant" progress in his recovery from a herniated disc in his neck, but evidently they didn't think the running back would be able to return this season. Wilson is expected to avoid surgery and will enter a make-or-break year in 2014 after disappointing in each of the last two seasons.

Insight: The good news is, it doesn't look like Wilson will need surgery. He's week-to-week. Andre Brown should take over as the lead back after the team's bye.

Insight: There's an outside chance he'll be able to play next week against the Vikings though it's probably a longshot. Brandon Jacobs had a good game in his absence last Thursday (106 rushing yards) and he could be worth a start again in Week 7.

Description: Giants running back David Wilson said that doctors fear he has spinal stenosis and is worried that his neck injury is season-ending. SOURCE: Ralph Vacchiano, New York Daily News
Insight: Spinal stenosis could be a long-term concern for Wilson. He'll have a second opinion on his neck and spine Monday. Brandon Jacobs ran better than he has in years Thursday at Chicago, putting up 106 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries, and would be the starter for the rest of the season if Wilson is out.

Description: New York running back David Wilson's neck injury is disc-related and should keep him out for "several weeks." SOURCE: New York Daily News
Insight: That leaves the backfield chores to Brandon Jacobs and Da'Rell Scott. Wilson was doing poorly before the injury (just 146 yards on 44 touches) so this shouldn't affect many fantasy rosters.

Insight: He's already been ruled out for Thursday's contest and now his status for next week's game against the Vikings is also in question. Neither of Wilson's backups, Da'Rell Scott or Brandon Jacobs, have much fantasy appeal.
