Description: Flames defenseman Kris Russell left Saturday's game due to an apparent left leg injury, according to Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun.
Insight: The Flames didn't have an update on Curtis Glenncross (knee) or Russell after the game, but coach Bob Hartley was not optimistic. "Obviously, just the fact that they didn't come back, it's not good news," Hartley said.
Description: Lightning blueliner Victor Hedman (lower body) may play Thursday, according to tbo.com.
Insight: The 22-year-old former No. 2 overall pick has 15 points (six goals), 47 SOG and 23 PIM over 28 games this season after producing 20-26 points in each of his first four campaigns. He participated in a full practice Tuesday morning after missing six straight games.
Description: Blue Jackets defenseman James Wisniewski (upper body) will not play Thursday but he is expected to play Saturday against Philadelphia, according to Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch.
Insight: Wisniewski has two goals and 18 points with 56 SOG in 28 games this season. He'll miss his sixth straight game Thursday.
Description: Dallas defenseman Aaron Rome (lower body) is questionable for Tuesday's game against Colorado.
Insight: He appeared to injure a leg in Monday against Colorado. He posted just 10 points 2011, but that's his highest output and in three games this season has yet to get on the board. Nothing to see here.
Description: Capitals defenseman Mike Green scored just his second goal of the season Sunday.
Insight: Green had 12 goals last season and 96 in his career, but he just hasn't been able to hit the back of the net this season despite taking 2.7 SOG per game. He's still on pace for 44 points due to his 14 assists in 30 games.
Description: Nashville defenseman Roman Josi has two goals and five points during a four-game scoring streak.
Insight: Josi missed most of October with a concussion and didn't do much in November, but the 23-year-old has found his groove this month. He's skating nearly 25 minutes per game this season and is getting time with Shea Weber and on the top power-play unit.
Description: Sharks defenseman Dan Boyle scored his first goal since Nov. 14 Saturday at Nashville.
Insight: Boyle also had one assist, bringing him to five points over his last three games. He's posted six goals, 17 points (eight PPP) and 70 SOG in 26 games, which are elite fantasy blueliner numbers.
Description: Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith had two assists and three SOG Tuesday to snap a three game scoring drought.
Insight: Keith put together an eight-game points streak from Nov. 19 to Dec. 3 and has one goal, 26 assists, 84 SOG and a +15 in 33 games. He ranks second among defensemen and 27th overall in Yahoo! leagues.

Description: Philadelphia defenseman Kimmo Timonen left Saturday's game with an upper body injury after being cross-checked by Jamie Benn and is questionable for Monday's game against Ottawa.
Insight: Despite playing over 21 minutes per game this season, Timonen has just one goal and five assists in 29 contests. Even if he plays Monday against Ottawa, Timonen won't be worth starting in fantasy.

Insight: Orpik was knocked unconcious by right wing Shawn Thornton during a stoppage in play in the first period. He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital where he regained consciousness and was later released. Though he did travel with the team back to Pittsburgh, we doubt Orpik plays Monday against Columbus.
Description: Pittsburgh defenseman Brooks Orpik took a cheap shot from Bruins right wing Shawn Thornton on Saturday night and had to leave the game on a stretcher. SOURCE: Penguins on Twitter
Insight: Orpik put a big hit on left wing Loui Eriksson in the first period and Thornton retaliated by sending Orpik to the ground during a play stoppage. Thornton would later punch Orpik's head into the ground, knocking him unconscious. Thornton was ejected and is likely to be suspended for his actions.
Description: Nashville defenseman Shea Weber (eye) will play Saturday against the Capitals, according to Willy Daunic of 1025thegame.com.

Description: Vancouver defenseman Jason Garrison has two goals and nine points over his last seven games.
Insight: Garrison is doing most of his damage on the power-play lately, scoring six of those nine points with the man advantage. The 29-year-old blueliner has four goals, 14 assists, 18 PIM and 90 SOG in 31 games this season.
