Description: Devils netminder Cory Schneider finished third in the NHL was a 1.97 GAA and tied for 13th with a .921 SV%, but he won only 16 of his 43 starts.
Insight: Schneider lost 15 games in regulation and 12 in overtime. The 28-year-old is expected to be the unquestioned No. 1 goaltender next season after splitting time with Martin Brodeur for most of 2013-14.
Hot1/22/2014 1:06:00 PM
Description: Devils goalie Cory Schneider is second in the NHL in goals against average at 1.88 and also has a .926 save percentage.
Insight: The Devils tried to make up for a season's worth of poor support for Schneider with seven goals Tuesday in a win over the Blues. Schneider has posted a 1.11 GAA and a .960 SV% while going 4-1-2 over his last seven starts.
Hot1/11/2014 9:55:00 PM
Description: Devils goalie Cory Schneider has posted a 0.98 GAA and a .963 SV% his last four starts.
Insight: Schneider went 3-1-0 in that span with all four games decided by one goal, including Saturday's overtime win over the Panthers. Martin Brodeur has been roughed up lately, so we may finally see Schneider get a greater share of the starts.
1/9/2014 10:12:00 PM
Description: Devils netminder Cory Schneider captured his third shutout of the season Thursday in 1-0 win over Dallas.
Insight: Though his record doesn't reflect it (just 6-9-5), Schneider has easily been New Jersey's best goalie in 2013-14. It will be interesting to see what Schneider can do if Martin Brodeur decides to retire after the season.
1/4/2014 1:39:00 PM
Description: Devils goalie Cory Schneider will start between the pipes Saturday at Buffalo.
Insight: Schneider has a strong 2.13 GAA to go with a .914 SV% this season, but he's just 5-8-5. He's started 18 games to Martin Brodeur's 24.
11/30/2013 9:44:00 PM
Description: The Devils beat the Sabres 1-0 Saturday night behind Cory Schneider's 15 saves.
Insight: Schneider had to face just 37 SOG while picking up a win in each of the last two days. New Jersey is getting fantastic goalie play from both Schneider and Martin Brodeur right now, so fantasy owners cannot expect the division of labor to change in Schneider's favor.
11/30/2013 6:02:00 PM
Description: Devils goalie Cory Schneider will start Saturday against Buffalo.
Insight: Schneider faced just 18 shots and stopped 16 in a 5-2 win at Carolina Friday night, and he'll get back-to-back starts for the first time since Oct. 22 and 24. Schneider is 3-5-1 with a 1.89 GAA and a .923 SV% in 11 starts this season.
11/21/2013 6:24:00 PM
Description: Devils goalie Cory Schneider will start Thursday against the Kings.
Insight: Schneider is just 1-5-3 this season despite carrying a 1.98 GAA and a .918 SV% into Thurday's game. He's currently in a 50-50 split with Martin Brodeur due to Brodeur's impressive play as of late.
11/8/2013 6:01:00 PM
Description: Devils goalie Cory Schneider will start for the Devils Friday at Toronto.
Insight: Schneider is 1-4-2 despite allowing just 2.27 goals per 60 minutes. Martin Brodeur has been playing better as of late and had a shutout Thursday, so we could see an even split in starts for the time being.
11/3/2013 10:49:00 AM
Description: Devils goalie Cory Schneider (lower body) has been activated from injured reserve and will start Sunday against Minnesota, according to Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record.
Insight: Schneider hasn't played since Oct. 24. He is 1-3-2 with 2.14 GAA and .915 SV%.
10/26/2013 3:58:00 PM
Description: Devils goalie Cory Schneider is dealing with a lower-body injury.
Insight: Schneider won't dress for Saturday's game, according to the Bergen Record. The Devils don't consider his injury to be serious but the goaltender doesn't have a timetable for his return.
10/22/2013 5:39:00 PM
Description: Devils goalie Cory Schneider will start Tuesday at Columbus.
Insight: He's fresh off his first shutout of the season. Devils coach Pete DeBoer will continue to give Schneider most of the starts over Martin Brodeur as long as Schneider plays well.
10/19/2013 10:06:00 PM
Description: Cory Schneider blocked 22 shots Saturday against the Rangers to pick up his first shutout as a member of the New Jersey Devils.
Insight: Schneider gave up three goals in each of his first two starts but he has allowed two on 56 shots in his last two games. The Devils won't give up on Martin Brodeur, who is 0-2-2 with a 3.40 GAA and an .865 SV%, but Schneider might be able to turn this into a 60-40 split if he keeps playing well.
10/12/2013 3:45:00 PM
Description: Devils netminder Cory Schneider will get the start Sunday against the Jets.
Insight: Schneider and Martin Brodeur have both posted save percentages lower than .900 and the Devils are winless. Both goaltenders should turn it around, however.
10/8/2013 5:49:00 PM
Description: Devils netminder Cory Schneider will start Tuesday's starter against the Canucks, his former team.
Insight: Roberto Luongo's contract made it difficult to move him so the Canucks decided to trade Schneider instead. The 27-year-old Schneider gave up three goals in a season-opening loss to Pittsburgh and will continue to split starts with Martin Brodeur.
10/3/2013 9:41:00 PM
Description: Goaltender Cory Schneider allowed three goals on just 21 shots in his Devils debut Thursday at Pittsburgh.
Insight: Schneider had a shaky start last year before going 17-9 with a 2.11 GAA and a .927 SV%, so we're hardly worried.
10/2/2013 4:48:00 PM
Description: Netminder Cory Schneider will make his Devils debut Thursday versus Pittsburgh.
Insight: Martin Brodeur will get the start Friday in the Devils' home opener. Schneider should eventually become the starter in New Jersey, though in 2013-14 he'll probably have to settle for a timeshare with Brodeur.
6/30/2013 4:32:00 PM
Description: In perhaps the biggest trade of this year's draft (at least so far) the Canucks sent goalie Cory Schneider to the Devils for the ninth overall pick.
Insight: We thought for sure if Vancouver was going to trade one of its goalies it would have been Roberto Luongo. Instead, Schneider is the one packing his bags. Schneider should become the starter in New Jersey at some point though in 2013-14 he'll probably have to settle for a timeshare with veteran Martin Brodeur.

Insight: Schneider didn't start the final two games of the regular season or the first two playoff games, but he said prior to the series that he was healthy. Vancouver is down 2-0 to San Jose.
4/30/2013 5:31:00 PM
Description: Canucks goalie Cory Schneider (undisclosed injury) said he thinks he is ready to play and needs to convince coach Alain Vigneault, according to Jim Jamieson of the Vancouver Province.
Insight: Roberto Luongo started the final two games of the season after being relegated to the bench over the last six weeks. Vigneault said he will make the decision about the starting goaltender for Game 1 on Wednesday.
