Description: Fox's Mike Garafolo reports that the Saints have signed wideout Steve Breaston to a one-year contract.
Insight: It took him all offseason but Breaston finally has a job again. He's never caught more than three touchdowns in a season and his last 1,000-yard campaign was in 2008. Having Drew Brees throwing to him should help a little bit but we're guessing Breaston still won't come close to being fantasy relevant in 2013.

Description: Free agent wide receiver Steve Breaston could opt for Regenokine therapy on his ailing knee this offseason. SOURCE: ESPN
Insight: Breaston's right knee is already in the early stages of arthritis. Breaston left Pittsburgh without signing a deal earlier this week and we're guessing his lingering knee issues had something to do with that. Breaston does have one 1,000-yard season to his credit but that happened five years ago. We're not anticipating a return to glory for Breaston in 2013.

Description: The Chiefs have cut ties with receiver Steve Breaston and tight end Kevin Boss.
Insight: Breaston had 1,006 yards on 77 receptions in 2008-09 but hasn't done anything to warrant fantasy attention in the last four seasons. Boss, meanwhile, played just two games last season.

Description: Chiefs WR Steve Breaston is inactive for Sunday's game with Carolina.
Insight: Breaston has done nothing this season to warrant attention from fantasy owners. He's totaled less than 30 yards in every game he's played this year.

Description: The Chiefs could definitely make a push for impending free-agent WR Steve Breaston, depending on their cap situation. SOURCE: PRO FOOTBALL WEEKLY
Insight: The Chiefs could really use a slot receiver to play with starting WRs Dwayne Bowe and Jonathan Baldwin, a role in which Breaston has thrived. Breaston is also familiar with Todd Haley's offense from his days in Arizona as the offensive coordinator.
11/15/2010 4:01:00 PM
Description: Breaston had four receptions for 98 yards against Seattle on Sunday.
Insight: Breaston was targeted 10 times in the game as Derek Anderson continues to be inaccurate. That said, he could be someone to watch in fantasy leagues. (
11/1/2010 12:01:00 PM
Description: Breaston had eight receptions for 147 yards against Tampa Bay on Sunday.
Insight: Breaston will start opposite Larry Fitzgerald, which is a favorable circumstance. The uncertainty the Cardinals have at QB is a concern, but Breaston is worth adding if you need a wide receiver. (
10/29/2010 1:00:00 AM
Description: AZ reports Cardinals' head coach Ken Whisenhunt said Breaston (knee) is expected to play on Sunday against Tampa Bay.
Insight: Breaston will resume starting opposite Larry Fitzgerald. (

Description: It was revealed that Cardinals WR Steve Breaston (knee) was inactive last weekend because of the wet conditions at Qwest Field in Seattle. SOURCE: ARIZONA REPUBLIC
Insight: The absence shouldn't have disappointed owners that much considering the state of the team's offense. It looks like Breaston should be fine against the Buccaneers, but he is still not a recommended fantasy option.
10/24/2010 2:49:00 PM
Description: Cardinals WRs Steve Breaston and Stephen Williams are inactive for Week 7 vs. Seattle. Andre Roberts starts alongside Larry Fitzgerald.
Insight: Early Doucet, surprisingly, is active and will serve as the #3 WR.
10/24/2010 2:46:00 PM
Description: Cardinals WR Steve Breaston is inactive against the Seahawks.
Insight: Breaston was supposed to be healthy enough to come back this week, but it looks like he will be out for at least another week.
10/21/2010 1:03:00 AM
Description: AZ reports Breaston (knee) was limited in practice on Wednesday.
Insight: Breaston seems to be on track to start on Sunday against Seattle, but he is not a particularly strong fantasy option. (
10/18/2010 3:01:00 PM
Description: Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic reports Wednesday is a key day for Breaston (knee surgery) and fellow WR Early Doucet (sports hernia) to determine if they will be able to return in Week 7.
Insight: Breaston and Doucet both have targeted Week 7 for their return, but we should know more about their status for Sunday against Seattle as the week goes on. (

Description: Updating a previous item, Mike Jurecki of XTRA Sports 910 in Phoenix reports, via Twitter, that the Cardinals are targeting Week 7 for Breaston (knee surgery) to return to action.
Insight: Breaston may be droppable in most fantasy leagues right now. (
9/28/2010 5:03:00 PM
Description: XTRA Sports 910 in Phoenix reports Breaston (knee) will miss at least "the next couple games" after having surgery to repair a torn meniscus on Tuesday.
Insight: Rookie Stephen Williams now looks like the favorite to start opposite Larry Fitzgerald while Breaston is sidelined and with Early Doucet (sports hernia) out a few more weeks. (

Description: Cardinals WR Steve Breaston is out for at least "the next couple of games" after undergoing knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus. SOURCE: XTRA 910 PHOENIX
Insight: Breaston was questionable with a knee injury going into Week Three and may have done more damage against the Raiders. Steve Breaston was a borderline WR3, but Derek Anderson has messed up the consistency of Breaston and Larry Fitzgerald. Undrafted rookie Stephen Williams is the favorite to start, but we can't recommend him as a pickup.
9/27/2010 2:02:00 PM
Description: Breaston had four catches for 41 yards and a touchdown against the Raiders on Sunday.
Insight: Breaston's fantasy upside is limited by the inadequacy of quarterback Derek Anderson. (
9/13/2010 10:04:00 AM
Description: Breaston had seven catches for 132 yards against the Rams on Sunday in the Cardinals' win.
Insight: Breaston appeared to be on the same page with QB Derek Anderson, which makes him someone to watch as a potential add in fantasy leagues. (
5/5/2010 10:52:00 PM
Description: AZ reports Breaston is expected to lose punt return duties this season.
Insight: Breaston is slated to step into the starting spot oppposite vacated by Anquan Boldin being dealt to Baltimore. He has decent fantasy potential as a starter. (
3/3/2010 8:51:00 PM
Description: Updating a previous item, Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports, via Twitter, that the Cardinals have assigned a first-round tender to Breaston.
Insight: The high tender likely makes Breaston likely to return to Arizona next season. He is line to take over Anquan Boldin's starting spot if the team trades him this offseason. (
