Description: Cleveland kicker Billy Cundiff will miss the rest of Sunday's game with a quad injury.
Insight: He booted a 38-yarder before exiting. Punter Spencer Lanning will handle the kicking duties for the rest of the afternoon.
9/3/2013 4:43:00 PM
Description: Place-kicker Billy Cundiff has been signed by the Cleveland Browns.
Insight: Cundiff was 7-for-12 last season with Washington. He has a career field goal rate of 75.5 percent. He'll certainly have trouble living up to the level of the Browns' kicker from 1999-2012, Phil Dawson, who hit 29-of-31 last season and owned a career 84 percent success rate oon field goals.
1/8/2013 10:18:00 AM
Description: San Francisco 49ers' newly acquired place-kicker Billy Cundiff was seen working out at Candelstick Park, according to a San Jose Mercury report. David Akers was not there.
Insight: Cundiff and Akers could both be active on Saturday which would make it tough on fantasy owners. Coach Jim Harbaugh indicated there is a "leader in the clubhouse" but wouldn't elaborate on who that person was. Picking a 49ers kicker for Saturday will be a big gamble unless we get more information.
1/2/2013 4:43:00 PM
Description: Former Pro-Bowl kicker Billy Cundiff was signed by the San Francisco 49ers.
Insight: Cundiff will compete with David Akers over the next week to see who will be the place-kicker. Akers was just 29-of-42 this season while dealing with a hip injury. Cundiff was 7-of-12 this season. He was cut by Baltimore, signed by Washington, then cut by the Redskins in favor of Kai Forbath.
10/8/2012 2:20:00 PM
Description: Former Pro-Bowl kicker Billy Cundiff, who quickly signed with the Washington Redskins one day after being released by the Baltimore Ravens, appears to be in danger of losing his job again.
Insight: Jason La Canfora is reporting that the Redskins will bring in a number of free agent kickers this week. Cundiff is 7-for-12 this season, but has missed two kicks inside 40 yards. If Cundiff is on your fantasy team start you better start looking at what kickers are available.
8/28/2012 9:28:00 AM
Description: Former Pro-Bowl kicker Billy Cundiff didn't stay unemployed for long, signing with the Washington Redskins one day after being released by the Baltimore Ravens.
Insight: Graham Gano's training camp win over Neil Rackers was shortlived. Cundiff was 28-for 37 last season (75.7%) and 132-for-172 (76.7%) for his career, but missed an easy 32-yard attempt that would have sent last season's AFC Championship game into overtime.
8/26/2012 2:24:00 PM
Description: The Ravens have parted ways with Pro-Bowl kicker Billy Cundiff.
Insight: Cundiff had a nice run with Baltimore but unfortunately he'll probably be most remembered for shanking an easy 32-yard attempt that would have sent last season's AFC Championship game into overtime. With Cundiff gone, rookie Justin Tucker will now handle the kicking duties for the Ravens.
1/23/2011 12:26:00 PM
Description: The Ravens and K Billy Cundiff are close to agreeing to a five-year, $15 million contract extension. SOURCE: BALTIMORE SUN
Insight: Heading to his first Pro Bowl, Cundiff tied an NFL record with 40 touchbacks. He also converted 26-of-29 field-goal attempts.
9/4/2010 11:02:00 PM
Description: Cundiff defeated Shayne Graham in the fight for the Baltimore kicking job.
Insight: That obviously makes Cundiff safer to draft right now than Graham, but he's far from safe overall. Cundiff hasn't appeared in a full season's worth of games since 2004 and was out of the league for all of 2007 and 2008. (
4/12/2010 8:09:00 PM
Description: Ravens re-signed restricted free agent K Billy Cundiff to a one-year, $1.101 million contract.
Insight: Cundiff has a tendency to go cold during the season for long stretches, so expect the Ravens to continue to attempt to improve their kicking game. (
1/18/2010 8:52:00 AM
Description: Cundiff hit only one field goal on Saturday against the Colts.
Insight: The Ravens' offense really struggled against the Colts' defense and Cundiff had limited opportunities. (
1/11/2010 8:56:00 AM
Description: Cundiff hit two field goals and added three extra points on Sunday against the Patriots.
Insight: Cundiff has been solid for the Ravens since being signed in Week 10. (
1/7/2010 8:41:00 AM
Description: Cundiff missed two field goals and had three extra points on Sunday against the Raiders.
Insight: Cundiff hit only 12-of-17 field goals in seven games with the Ravens. (
12/29/2009 8:48:00 AM
Description: Cundiff hit two field goals and added two extra points on Sunday against the Steelers.
Insight: Cundiff has now hit 12 field goals in his last six games. (
12/22/2009 8:40:00 AM
Description: Cundiff hit one-of-two field goals and added four extra points on Sunday against the Bears.
Insight: Cundiff is now 16-of-19 on the season and has ten field goals in five games since joining the Ravens. (
12/15/2009 8:29:00 AM
Description: Cundiff hit two field goals and added six extra points against the Lions on Sunday.
Insight: Cundiff has scored double-digit points in two of his four games since joining the Ravens. (
12/8/2009 8:58:00 AM
Description: Cundiff did not attempt a field goal and had only two extra points on Monday night against the Packers.
Insight: The Ravens' offense was not in sync and Cundiff did not have many opportunities at all. He should be a much better option next week against Detroit. (
12/1/2009 7:59:00 AM
Description: Cundiff made 2-of-3 field goals and added two extra points against the Steelers on Sunday.
Insight: Cundiff kicked the game winning field goal in OT and is now 7-of-9 on field goals in two games since joining the Ravens. (
11/3/2009 10:39:00 PM
Description: The Browns waived Cundiff on Tuesday.
Insight: Not a surprise here as Phil Dawson returned from injury this past week and resumed his kicking duties. (
10/26/2009 8:53:00 AM
Description: Cundiff hit on a 22-yard field goal in the Browns' loss to the Packers on Sunday.
Insight: Cundiff nailed his only FG opportunity as he continues to fill in for an injured Phil Dawson. (
