Reports: Twins add Nolasco to rotation

Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Minnesota Twins have reportedly agreed to terms with right-hander Ricky Nolasco.

Multiple reports state the four-year deal is worth $49 million with a club option for 2018. The option is worth $13 million with a $1 million buyout. It can vest based on innings pitched from 2016-17.

Nolasco appeared to confirm the news on his own by changing his Twitter AVI to a Twins logo Wednesday evening.

The contract would be the largest free-agent signing in the club's history, surpassing Josh Willingham's three-year, $21 million deal signed before the 2012 season.

The 30-year-old right-hander split last season with the Marlins and Dodgers, going 13-11 with a 3.70 earned run average in 34 games (33 starts). He finished two-thirds of a frame shy of 200 innings, a milestone eclipsed in 2008 and 2011.

After being dealt to Los Angeles on July 6, he went 8-3 with a 3.52 ERA in 16 appearances, all but one of them starts, to help the club lock up the NL West title.

Over his eight-year pro career, Nolasco holds an 89-75 record and 4.37 ERA over more than 1,300 innings since 2006.
