Brett Favre has thrown eight TDs and no interceptions in his last two games.
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) -
Brett Favre was playing at a different level than his counterpart Tony Romo. He connected for three scores with Sidney Rice and almost had a fourth but just overthrew his No.1 target. Favre finished the day with 234 yards and four touchdowns after throwing salt into the Dallas Cowboys' wound by tossing a touchdown to Visanthe Shiancoe with 1:55 left in the fourth quarter up 27-3. Favre has now thrown eight TDs and no interceptions in his last two games. Not bad for a 40-year-old with a RapidDraft ADP of 226.8 back in August.
Drew Brees (ADP 32.8) returned to the form that helped the New Orleans Saints open the year with 13 consecutive wins. He took apart the Arizona defense, posting 35 points by halftime before shutting down the offense and cruising to the 45-14 victory. Brees finished with 247 yards and three scores, setting up a great matchup next Sunday in the Superdome with Favre.
Jets rookie running back Shonn Greene continues to impress. He posted his second consecutive 100-yard day, this time putting up 128 yards and the game- winning score - a 53-yard touchdown burst. He's been the best running back in the playoffs.
Despite an ADP of 25.6 in preseason, Reggie Bush has not had any fantasy relevance since 2006, his rookie season when he totaled 1,306 yards from scrimmage and eight touchdowns. Injuries kept him in and out of the lineup for the past three years and he hasn't had 1,000 yards from scrimmage in any year since. On Sunday he ran with intensity and finished off his runs, something he never did in the past. He also added an 83-yard punt return. If this is the "new" Bush running style, then he might actually have some fantasy value in 2010.
Sidney Rice (ADP 188.9) had an All-Pro regular season (83-1,312-8) and continued that level of performance into the playoffs. He caught six balls for 141 yards and three scores and nearly had a fourth. Considering he was the fourth Vikings receiver off the board back in August, behind Bernard Berrian, Percy Harvin and Shiancoe, he's a leading candidate for the 2009 TSN "Best Bargain Award."
In a weak effort by most of the tight ends, Jason Witten's 10-catch, 98-yard effort was the best at the position. It did nothing to help keep his team from getting blown out in Minnesota, but hopefully it helped your fantasy playoff roster advance.
Matt Stover and Ryan Longwell led the weekend kicking corps with two field goals each, but the performance which most affected his team and many fantasy rosters the most was Nate Kaeding's 0-for-3 afternoon. It knocked me out of contention for the win after I had made him the first kicker selected in last week's draft.
