Description: Suns shooting guard Gerald Green played just 21 minutes and made 2-of-9 from the field (0-5 3PT) for four points Friday.
Insight: This is what we were afraid would happen when Eric Bledsoe returned to the starting lineup. Green averaged 31.7 minutes, 18.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.4 threes and 1.2 steals in 33 games with Bledsoe out of the lineup, but there's only so many minutes to go around. It doesn't help that Green is mired in a 12-of-37 (.324) shooting slump his last three games while hitting 0-of-11 3-point attempts his last two.
Description: Wizards small forward Trevor Ariza bounced back from two straight single-digit scoring games with 21 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, four threes and one steal in 44 minutes Friday at Orlando.
Insight: Ariza only shot 6-of-16 Friday and has made just 11-of-36 his last three games, but he's still averaging over 20 ppg in March.
Description: Sixers power forward Thaddeus Young has averaged 20.6 ppg, 5.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.6 steals in 10 games since the trade deadline.
Insight: The 76ers traded Evan Turner, Spencer Hawes and Lavoy Allen at the deadline, leaving Young as one of the only competent players left on the roster. He has taken advantage of the larger role. In 45 minutes Friday against the Pacers, Young had 25 points, 10 assists, six rebounds and three steals.
Description: Pacers G/F Evan Turner had just two points in 21 minutes Friday at Philadelphia, his former team.
Insight: As predicted, Turner has averaged far fewer minutes with the Pacers than he did with Philadelphia. He has played 22.6 minutes, 8.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game over 10 games with Indiana.
Description: Pelicans swingman Tyreke Evans (illness) will return Friday after missing Wednesday's game, according to Jim Eichenhofer of pelicans.com.
Insight: Evans has averaged 22 ppg, 6.3 apg, 6.2 rpg, 1.0 spg in six games since he joined the starting lineup in place of Al-Farouq Aminu. Make sure he's in your lineup Friday against the Trail Blazers.
Description: Golden State forward Harrison Barnes wore a first-team blue jersey at shootaround Friday, according to Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle
Insight: That probably means he's starting at shooting guard in place of Klay Thompson (personal). Barnes has averaged 38.3 minutes, 13.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.1 threes in 16 starts this season.
Description: New York F/C Amare Stoudemire will return to action Saturday against the Bucks. SOURCE: Al Iannazzone, Newsday
Insight: Stoudemire (10.8 ppg, 4.6 rpg) got a night off for rest purposes after playing six straight games. He has averaged 27 mpg, 17.3 ppg, 6.5 rpg and 1.2 bpg in those six games, so the Knicks want to make sure he stays in the lineup long term.
Description: If you have been using Suns shooting guard Gerald Green during his hot March (23.3 ppg) be prepared for the possibility that just back from the injured list Eric Bledsoe will replace him in the starting five.
Insight: Phoenix is 3-7 over their last 10 games and coach Jeff Hornacek is looking to make some changes, according to an Arizona Republic report.
Description: Portland PF LaMarcus Aldridge has a lower back contusion and he'll miss both Friday and Saturday's game,
Insight: Aldridge (23.4 ppg, 11.1 rpg, 2.7 apg) will be reevaluated next week. Dorell Wright and Thomas Robinson will see more minutes with Aldridge out, but neither has Aldridge talent. Damian Lillard, Wes Mathews and Nicolas Batum should dominate the offense.
Description: Pelicans swingman Tyreke Evans did not play Wednesday due to an illness and is questionable for Friday's game against Portland
Insight: Evans has averaged 22 ppg, 6.3 apg, 6.2 rpg, 1.0 spg in six games since he joined the starting lineup in place of Al-Farouq Aminu. If he's dressed, fantasy owners must start him, but it appears it will be a game-time decision.
Description: Milwaukee forward Ersan Ilyasova returned from an ankle injury Thursday and had 22 points, 10 boards, three assists and two steals in 30 minutes.
Insight: Ilyasova missed one game. He has averaged 15.7 points and 7.8 rebounds over his last 10 games. For his career, Ilyasova has produced 12.7 ppg on .494 shooting after the All-Star break compared to 9.6 ppg on .416 shooting before it.
Description: Milwaukee forward Ersan Ilyasova (right ankle) is questionable for Thursday's game against Atlanta.
Insight: John Henson will start for the Bucks if Ilyasova can't play. Ilyasova has picked up his play as of late, averaging 15 points and 7.6 rebounds over his last nine games, but he missed his 14th game of the season Tuesday.
Description: Kings forward Rudy Gay drained 5-of-12 from the field and 16-of-19 from the free-throw line to reach the 20-point mark for the third straight game Wednesday against the Sixers.
Insight: Gay had 27 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals at Philadelphia. He has averaged 23 ppg on .486 shooting his last 11 games after a brief slump in mid-February. In 41 games with the Kings, Gay has made over 49 percent of his field-goal attempts.
Description: Pelicans swingman Tyreke Evans will not play Wednesday due to an illness, according to Jennifer Hale of WVUE Fox 8.
Insight: Evans has averaged 22 ppg, 6.3 apg, 6.2 rpg, 1.0 spg in six games since he joined the starting lineup in place of Al-Farouq Aminu. With Eric Gordon also out sick Wednesday, look for Aminu, Anthony Morrow and Austin Rivers to play most of the SG/SF minutes.
Description: Los Angeles PF/C Jordan Hill (knee) missed Wednesday's practice and is doubtful for the next two games, according to Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
Insight: Hill is dealing with knee soreness and missed the last five games. Ryan Kelly has averaged 34.9 minutes, 18 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 3.0 threes, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 steals the last two.
Description: Marcus Morris will start in place of P.J. Tucker on Wednesday, according to Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic. Tucker is suspended for hitting Blake Griffin on Monday.
Insight: If Eric Bledsoe wasn't making his return from an injury we probably would see a starting lineup that included Bledsoe, Goran Dragic and Gerald Green with Tucker out, but Bledsoe is being eased back into action after missing two and a half months with a torn meniscus.
Description: Thunder forward Serge Ibaka was all over the glass Tuesday in a win against the Rockets.
Insight: Ibaka finished with a game-high 16 rebounds while also shooting 6-of-14 from the field (12 points). He's been unstoppable since the All-Star break, averaging 16.2 ppg, 9.6 rpg and 2.7 bpg over his last nine contests. We're expecting another big game from him Thursday against the Lakers.
Description: T-Wolves forward Kevin Love was on his game Tuesday against the Bucks.
Insight: Love came through with 27 points, ten boards and six assists. He's been insanely consistent, averaging 27 ppg, 11.7 rpg and 6.3 apg over his last three appearances. Despite winning seven of their last ten, the Wolves are still five games out of a playoff spot. They would be the seventh seed if they played in the Eastern Conference.
Description: Detroit forward Josh Smith threw up a second straight 20-point game Tuesday against Sacramento, finishing with 24 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two threes.
Insight: Smith has hit five threes on eight shots his last two games, which is scary because it may encourage him to take more of them. He's shooting just 24.5 percent from 3-point range on 3.3 attempts per game this season.
Description: Suns swingman P.J. Tucker has indeed been suspended for Wednesday's game against Cleveland. SOURCE: Paul Coro, Arizona Republic
Insight: Tucker (9.4 ppg, 6.6 rpg) took a swing at Blake Griffin on Monday and the league has rules against that sort of thing. It's a huge break for Gerald Green (15.7 ppg), who was probably headed back to the bench with Eric Bledsoe (torn meniscus) set to return from a two-month absence.
Description: Milwaukee forward Ersan Ilyasova (ankle) will not play Tuesday, according to the Bucks on Twitter.
Insight: Ilyasova has picked up his play as of late, averaging 15 points and 7.6 rebounds over his last nine games, but he'll have to miss his 14th game of the season Tuesday. John Henson will start for the Bucks and should be in all lineups.
Description: Suns center Miles Plumlee took two games to return to form after returning from a knee injury. On Monday he scored 12 points and hauled down nine rebounds with a pair of blocks in 26 minutes of action.
Insight: Plumlee (8.6 ppg, 8.2 rpg) had played just 10 minutes in his first game on Sunday. His Monday numbers are encouraging and he should be watched to see if he can consistently reach those totals.
Description: Trail Blazers center Joel Freeland sprained his right MCL Tuesday on Feb 11. and was supposed to be back in 4-6 weeks, but he doesn't appear to be near a return, according to a csnnw.com report.
Insight: Freeland's absence has freed up a few more minutes for starter Robin Lopez, who is averaging 11.5 ppg and 9.7 rpg over the past 11 games. Meyers Leonard has averaged 9 mpg in Freeland's absence.
Description: Suns center Miles Plumlee will draw the start Monday against Los Angeles.
Insight: Plumlee (8.5 ppg, 8.2 rpg) returned from a knee injury Sunday versus Golden State but he came off the bench and only played ten minutes. Rookie Alex Len averaged 5.0 ppg on 45.5 percent shooting during his three-game stint in the starting lineup.
Description: Los Angeles forward Jared Dudley will miss his third game in a row Monday against Phoenix. SOURCE: Dan Woike, Orange County Register
Insight: Dudley's back is still giving him problems. Hedo Turkoglu (2.6 ppg, 2.7 rpg) and Danny Granger (8.1 ppg) will continue to backup starter Matt Barnes (9.0 ppg, 4.4 rpg) at the small forward position.
Description: Cavs forward Anthony Bennett suffered a strained left patellar tendon and will miss about three weeks. SOURCE: NBA.com
Insight: Bennett (4.1 ppg, 2.9 rpg) has shown some flashes of talent, but not enough to get the attention of fantasy owners. Spencer Hawes and Tristan Thompson will start at center and power forward for the forseeable future with Anderson Varejao and Tyler Zeller as the two backups.
Description: Nets PF/SF Paul Pierce hurt his shoulder again in the first half Sunday against Sacramento and is questionable for Monday's game against Toronto.
Insight: He's been dealing with a sore shoulder and apparently aggravated it in the first minute of the game. With Pierce out, veteran Andrei Kirilenko played at the PF spot, but he too was injured and will be questionable for Monday.
Description: Nets PF/C Kevin Garnett (back spasms) missed Sunday's game and is questionable for Monday's game against Toronto.
Insight: Garnett's averaging career low numbers (6.7 ppg, 6.7 rpg) and even when he returns, coach Jason Kidd has said he will not play a lot of minutes. Andray Blatche has averaged 13.6 ppg and 5.6 rpg while Garnett has been sidelined.
Description: Boston PF/C Kris Humphries had one of his best games of the season Sunday against Detroit (20 points, 11 rebounds, two steals, two blocks).
Insight: He's actually been seeing a lot of minutes lately (26.5 mpg over his last four appearances). With that said, Humphries had just nine points combined in his previous two outings and can't be relied on for consistent fantasy production. He's unlikely to be back with the Celtics next season.
Description: LaMarcus Aldridge led Portland with 28 points Sunday in a loss at Houston.
Insight: Aldridge didn't shoot the ball particularly well (just 10-of-27) but he still managed to eclipse his season average of 23.6 ppg. He's averaged 29 ppg since his terrible 1-for-13 outing against the Hawks earlier this week.
Description: Denver forward Kenneth Faried contributed 22 points and 14 rebounds Sunday against New Orleans.
Insight: Faried has been on a mission this month. In five March games, the 24-year-old has averaged 21.4 ppg on 64.6 percent shooting. He's posted 10.6 rpg during that same stretch. Faried should be starting in all leagues until further notice.
Description: New Orleans power forward Anthony Davis continued his scoring tear with 32 points Sunday in a win against Denver. He also had 17 rebounds and six blocked shots.
Insight: By doing so, Davis became the first Pelican to ever record at least 30 points, 15 boards and five blocks in one game. He's a special player with MVP potential. Fantasy owners who got Davis on the cheap after his so-so rookie season should consider themselves extremely lucky.
Description: Detroit forward Greg Monroe meant business Sunday against Boston.
Insight: Monroe chipped in with 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting. He was active on the boards as well, corralling 15 rebounds in 39 minutes of action. The 23-year-old out of Georgetown has delivered 23 ppg and 12 rpg over his last three appearances.
Description: Josh Smith jump-started the Pistons' offense with 28 points Sunday against Boston.
Insight: Smith has always been in love with three-pointers for no apparent reason but tonight, he actually made a few of them (3-of-6). The Pistons have been awful lately, losing seven of their last eight contests. Fortunately for fantasy owners, Smith has averaged 20.8 ppg during that span.
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green was on target Sunday against Detroit.
Insight: Green blew up for 27 points on 11-for-19 shooting. At one point, he was 5-of-9 from deep though he came up empty on his last three attempts. He's averaged 18.3 ppg in four appearances this month.
Description: Nets forward Andrei Kirilenko suffered a sprained ankle Sunday in a win against Sacramento. SOURCE: Tim Bontemps, New York Post
Insight: The injury forced him to miss most of the second half. If Paul Pierce (shoulder) and Kirilenko (five points in 18 minutes) are both out Monday against Toronto, the Nets may have to start four guards with Mason Plumlee as the lone frontcourt player.
Description: Nets PF/SF Paul Pierce hurt his shoulder in the first half Sunday against Sacramento. He will not be returning. SOURCE: Newsday
Insight: The injury happened pretty early on so Pierce was only able to put up two points before leaving. With Pierce out, Brooklyn will now turn to veteran Andrei Kirilenko (5.6 ppg) at the four spot.
Description: Kevin Durant's triple-double Sunday against the Lakers was his third of the season.
Insight: Durant's monster box score (27 points, ten rebounds, 12 assists) doesn't tell the whole story as he actually committed a few costly turnovers and missed several important free throws down the stretch. He'll hope to eliminate some of those mistakes Tuesday when the Thunder host Houston.
Description: Nets PF/C Kevin Garnett (back spasms) will miss yet another game Sunday, according to Tim Bontemps of the New York Post.
Insight: It's his fifth straight game out of the lineup. Mason Plumlee has started in his place the last four games, but Andray Blatche has benefited more from Garnett's absence with averages of 24.5 minutes, 13.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.0 blocks during the last four.
Description: Los Angeles PF/C Jordan Hill (knee) will not play Sunday, according to Mike Trudell of lakers.com.
Insight: Hill is dealing with knee soreness and will miss his fifth straight game. Ryan Kelly will start at power forward after delivering 24 points and 11 rebounds Friday night, while Wesley Johnson will move to small forward and Kent Bazemore to the bench.
Description: Make it 23 games in a row with 20+ points for Blake Griffin after he had 27 Saturday in the Clippers' win over the Hawks.
Insight: Griffin has the Clippers record for most consecutive 20-point games. The power forward's game has soared to new heights this season and he has produced 26.8 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 3.9 apg and 1.1 spg over his last 39 games.
Description: Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard has averaged 31.3 minutes, 14.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.8 steals, 2.2 assists, 1.7 threes and 1.7 blocks in six games since he returned from a broken hand.
Insight: Leonard had 17 points, seven boards, four assists, two steals and two blocks Saturday against the Magic and is finally exhibiting the star play he displayed in the playoffs last season. Part of the problem before Leonard's injury was opportunity, as he averaged 28.6 minutes per game in his first 41 games.
Description: Bucks swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo has averaged just 6.4 ppg on .346 shooting his last 14 games.
Insight: Antetokounmpo's minutes have dipped to 22.6 per game over his last five games and he has scored single-digit points in four straight. The 19-year-old has loads of potential but won't realize it this season, especially when the Bucks are more concerned with getting minutes to Khris Middleton and Nate Wolters.
Description: Magic small forward Moe Harkless had 12 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block in 36 minutes Saturday at San Antonio.
Insight: Harkless has received extended playing time lately due to injuries, first to Arron Afflalo and now to Victor Oladipo, and has averaged 36 minutes, 14.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 steals, 1.7 threes and 1.2 blocks in six games.
Description: Knicks power forward Amare Stoudemire had 17 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and three blocks in 28 minutes Saturday at Cleveland.
Insight: The 31-year-old has averaged 26.6 minutes, 16.2 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks over his last five games. It's only a matter of time before Stoudemire's knees start bothering him again, so enjoy this production while it lasts.
Description: Atlanta forward Paul Millsap (knee bruise) will start Saturday, according to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Insight: After missing five games with a bruised knee, Millsap returned Friday and played 24 minutes. He'll have no issue playing Saturday even though it's a back-to-back. Mike Scott and Darren Collison saw more playing time while Millsap was out.
Description: Bucks PF/C Ekpe Udoh (knee) will not play Saturday, according to Matt Velazquez of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Insight: Udoh (3.7 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 1.1 bpg) put up some shots prior to the game, but he isn't ready to return. He has played just one game (15 minutes) since late January due to a knee injury and isn't worth holding, especially with Jeff Adrien averaging 21.4 minutes, 9.1 points, 9.0 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in seven games since he joined the Bucks.
Description: Memphis power forward James Johnson picked up a DNP-Coach's Decision Friday at Chicago.
Insight: He missed Monday's game with a sprained ankle and played just 14 minutes in his return to action on Wednesday. Johnson helped the Grizzlies on the wings when Tony Allen was out but he can be dropped in all leagues.
Description: Portland small forward Nic Batum broke his nose during Friday's game, according to csnnw.com's Chris Hayes.
Insight: Portland is seeking a protective covering for Batum's face in advance of Sunday's game against the Rockets, Batum's agent said. He was able to play through the injury Friday but now that the Trail Blazers know his nose is broken they won't put him on the court without a mask.
Description: Lakers center Pau Gasol (ankle) participated in practice Saturday and will play Sunday against the Thunder, according to Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times.
Insight: Gasol hurt his ankle Friday but X-rays were negative. Gasol had 27 points Friday, has scored at least 21 points in five straight games and averaged 21 ppg, 10.4 rpg, 3.4 apg, 1.7 bpg over his last 25.
Description: Wizards small forward Trevor Ariza had another huge game Saturday at Milwaukee with 28 points, seven rebounds and five threes.
Insight: Ariza has had the benefit of playing three of the NBA's worst teams -- Philadelphia, Utah and Milwaukee -- in Washington's four games this month and has averaged 27.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.3 triples, 2.3 assists and 1.5 steals.
Description: Pelicans forward Anthony Davis was money Friday in a win against the Bucks.
Insight: Friday featured one of Davis' more robust stat lines of the season: 29 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and two blocks. A relative disappointment as a rookie (13.5 ppg, 8.2 rpg), Davis has been nothing short of sensational in his second year in the league (20.4 ppg, 10.1 rpg, 2.9 bpg in 54 games).
Description: Minnesota power forward Kevin Love was firing on all cylinders Friday against the Pistons.
Insight: Love netted 28 points on 10-of-18 shooting. He also posted 14 boards, five assists and two steals. Despite averaging only 2.3 apg for his career, Love has given out 37 helpers in his last seven contests (5.3 apg).
Description: Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony added 29 points Friday in a blowout win over Utah.
Insight: Anthony is often labeled as a selfish player but that certainly wasn't the case on Friday. His eight assists were a season-high. He also had four rebounds and two steals. Carmelo has now scored at least 20 points in 13 straight games.
Description: Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph will be active for Friday's contest against Chicago. He sat out Wednesday's game because of an illness.
Insight: We reported earlier that Randolph was probable to play so this shouldn't come as a surprise. Randolph (17.3 ppg, 10.3 rpg) played poorly the last time these teams met, shooting just 4-for-15 with five turnovers. We'll see if he has better luck this time around.
Description: Memphis power forward Zach Randolph is questionable for Friday's game against Chicago with an illness that kept hi, out of Wednesday's game.
Insight: Ed Davis got the start, but has proven he can't put up numbers. Kosta Koufos amassed 12 points and eight rebounds in just 19 minutes against Brooklyn and would seem to be the guy to use if Z-Bo can't go on Friday.
Description: Atlanta forward Paul Millsap (knee bruise) is questionable for Friday's game against Golden State.
Insight: Millsap is nearing a return after participating in a 3-on-3 contact scrimmage, but the only info from coach Mike Budenholzer, according to an AJC report is that he's "getting closer." Elton Brand and Mike Scott's minutes will be determined by whether Millsap is on the court Friday.
Description: The Spurs are going with a different look Thursday against the Heat. Instead of starting Tiago Splitter at center with Tim Duncan at power forward, Duncan will slide over to the five with Boris Diaw at the four spot. Splitter will come off the bench. SOURCE: Dan McCarney, San Antonio Express-News
Insight: Miami's lack of a true center (Chris Bosh starts there most nights) allows the Spurs to play a bit smaller. Diaw scored 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting the last time he faced the Heat.
Description: Joakim Noah is trying to recruit Carmelo Anthony to play in Chicago next season. SOURCE: Chris Broussard, ESPN
Insight: The two spoke during All-Star weekend with Noah telling Carmelo "if you really want to win a ring, you should come to Chicago." Anthony will become a free agent this summer. He's second in the league in scoring at 28.1 ppg.
Description: The Kings have signed controversial forward Royce White to a ten-day contract. SOURCE: Kings on Twitter
Insight: White will get his feet wet in the D-League and depending on how that goes, he could get another ten-day contract with the big club. Even if White sticks, he's not likely to be a major fantasy asset.
Description: Pacers star Paul George blames last night's poor performance on a stiff back. SOURCE: Indianapolis Star
Insight: George had the worst shooting night of his career on Wednesday, missing all nine of his attempts in a 22-point loss to Charlotte. Despite the injury, George fully expects to play Friday against the Rockets.
Description: Sacramento will be without veteran power forward Carl Landry Wednesday is out indefinitely, according to coach Michael Malone.
Insight: Knee tendinitis has caused Landry to miss the last four games. Even when healthy, he isn't much of a fantasy option (4.2 ppg, 3.2 rpg in 18 contests). His minutes will go to Jason Thompson and Derrick Williams.
Description: Clippers small forward Jared Dudley left Tuesday's game with back spasms and is questionable for Thursday's game against the LA Lakers.
Insight: Dudley began the season as the starting small forward but averaged just 8.7 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 1.6 apg and 1.5 3pg in the first 42 games. In 20 games since losing his job to Matt Barnes, he has averaged 17.7 mpg, 4.4 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.3 apg and 0.6 mpg which means he can be released from all fantasy rosters.
Description: Phoenix F/C Miles Plumlee (right knee sprain) has been downgraded to doubtful for Thursday's game after missing Wednesday's practice. SOURCE: Paul Coro, Arizona Republic
Insight: Plumlee (8.6 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.3 bpg) has been battling a right knee sprain and missed Tuesday's game. With Plumlee out, rookie Alex Len made his first career start and split minutes with Shavlik Randolph. Neither did enough to be fantasy worthy. Markieff Morris also saw time at center.
Description: Trevor Ariza dropped 26 points on Utah Wednesday in a 104-91 Wizards victory.
Insight: Ariza has been lighting it up lately. Over his last five games, the former UCLA Bruin has averaged 23.8 ppg on 60.3 percent shooting. He's been lethal from downtown, connecting on 23 of his last 34 three-point attempts (67.5 percent). Make sure Ariza is in your lineup Saturday against Milwaukee.
Description: Bucks PF/C Ekpe Udoh remains sidelined with an ankle injury. SOURCE: Bucks on Twitter
Insight: What else is new? Udoh hasn't seen the court in almost a month while battling knee and ankle issues. Jeff Adrien has probably benefited the most from Udoh's absence (5.8 ppg since joining Milwaukee at the trade deadline).
Description: Phoenix F/C Miles Plumlee (right knee sprain) is questionable for Thursday's game.
Markieff Morris also saw time at center.
Description: Atlanta forward Paul Millsap (knee bruise) will not play Wednesday against Portland, but he did participate in a 3-on-3 contact scrimmage. SOURCE: Chris Vivlamore, Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Insight: Millsap's knee contusion will keep him out a fifth straight game Wednesday, but he's getting close to a return. Mike Scott, DeMarre Carroll and Elton Brand will continue to benefit from his absence.
Description: Blazers forward Thomas Robinson (knee strain) is "still in the process of rehabbing" from a left patella tendon strain, coach Terry Stotts said, according to The Oregonian.
Insight: Robinson received a chance to play more minutes when LaMarcus Aldridge was out of the lineup, but his injury put a stop to that and Aldridge has since returned. Robinson will miss his fourth straight game Wednesday.
Description: Heat forward LeBron James said he re-broke his nose after taking an elbow from Dwight Howard during Tuesday's game, but the Heat have confirmed that he didn't. SOURCE: nbc6.com
Insight: James has been playing with a protective mask since he broke his nose on Feb. 20. He scored a career-high 61 points in 41 minutes Monday and admitted he dealt with fatigue in Tuesday's loss at Houston. James scored 22 points Tuesday and has averaged 35.3 points on 62.3 percent shooting his last eight games.
Description: Clippers small forward Jared Dudley left Tuesday's game with back spasms.
Insight: Dudley began the season as the starting small forward but averaged just 8.7 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 1.6 apg and 1.5 3pg in the first 42 games. In 20 games since losing his job to Matt Barnes, he has averaged 17.7 mpg, 4.4 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.3 apg and 0.6 3pg.
Description: Pelicans swingman Tyreke Evans had another excellent game Tuesday, scoring 24 points with 11 assists, seven rebounds, one steal and one block in 43 minutes.
Insight: In four games since he replaced Al Farouq-Aminu in the starting lineup, Evans has averaged 40.1 minutes, 21.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 1.3 threes. We're surprised the Pelicans took so long to make the change after giving Evans a four-year, $44 million contract in the offseason. He averaged just 24.8 minutes and 12 ppg in 49 games off the bench.
Description: After shooting 5-of-20 from the field his last two games, Pelicans power forward Anthony Davis had 28 points, 15 rebounds, three assists and one block in 42 minutes Tuesday against the Lakers.
Insight: Davis is back up to 10 rebounds per game and is one of three players along with Kevin Love and LaMarcus Aldridge averaging 20 points and 10 boards per game.
Description: Phoenix G/F P.J. Tucker had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds in 39 minutes Tuesday.
Insight: Tucker doesn't score much but is one of the top rebounders among shooting guards. He has averaged 10.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.5 steals his last 11 games. Tucker will probably see fewer minutes when Eric Bledsoe returns to the lineup, as the Suns will have to find time for Gerald Green and his 15.2 ppg.
Description: Clippers forward Matt Barnes dropped 28 points in 40 minutes Tuesday at Phoenix.
Insight: Barnes has scored in double figures in six straight games and averaged 33.2 mpg, 17.3 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 3.3 3pg, 2.3 apg and 1.0 spg in that span. His outburst has come at a good time, as the Clippers are playing without J.J. Redick (back) and Jamal Crawford (calf).
Description: Houston power forward Terrence Jones has averaged 20.5 points and 11 rebounds during his two straight double-doubles.
Insight: Jones entered March with zero double-digit rebounding efforts his last 14 games after posting five double-doubles from Jan. 8-18. He averaged just 25.1 minutes per game in February but has played 33.5 the first two games this month.
Description: Kevin Durant dominated the Sixers for 42 points on 14-of-20 shooting Tuesday night in OKC.
Insight: Durant probably would have gone for 50 if he hadn't sat out the fourth quarter. Tuesday was KD's tenth 40-point game of the season. That's twice as many as Carmelo Anthony, who is second in the league with five 40-point games. Your move, LeBron.
Description: Warriors forward Andre Iguodala had his dislocated right index finger popped back into place Tuesday, and his X-rays were negative, according to Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Insight: Iguodala went to the locker room with the injury but returned soon after with his fingers taped up. The Warriors play again Wednesday at Boston.
Description: Indiana small forward Paul George didn't shoot the ball well Tuesday against the Warriors (8-for-23) but still managed 26 points, 12 rebounds and four assists.
Insight: George has been anything but efficient over his last five games, shooting just 39 percent from the field during that span. But when you're taking as many shots as George is (17.5 field goal attempts per game), fantasy owners tend not to complain. As long as George (22.7 ppg) keeps shooting, fantasy owners should be able to look past his low percentage.
Description: Indiana forward David West led all scorers with 27 points Tuesday in a loss to Golden State.
Insight: West has produced at least 20 points in each of his last two games. It's only the second time he's done that this season. We'll see if he can keep the hot streak going Wednesday when the Pacers travel to Charlotte for a date with the Bobcats.
Description: Warriors forward Andre Iguodala returned to action after injuring his finger late in the fourth quarter Tuesday versus Indiana.
Insight: His absence was very brief and we'd be surprised if it affects his status for Wednesday's game against Boston. Iguodala finished with six points, two rebounds and one assist in 23 minutes of court time.
Description: Golden State small forward Andre Iguodala exited Tuesday's game with what looked to be a dislocated finger. SOURCE: Rusty Simmons, San Francisco Chronicle
Insight: Iguodala went to the locker room briefly but is already back on the bench with tape on his fingers. Without him, the Warriors have been going guard-heavy with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Steve Blake all playing at the same time.
Description: Boston G/F Gerald Wallace had successful knee and ankle surgery on Tuesday. SOURCE: Celtics on Twitter
Insight: Obviously, he's lost for the season. Wallace (5.1 ppg, 3.7 rpg) gave the Celtics very little in his 58 games this season and is unlikely to be re-signed. His days of being a helpful fantasy contributor are over.
Description: Thunder small forward Kevin Durant played through a left ankle injury on Sunday and still scored 28 points with six rebounds and five assists.
Insight: Oklahoma City is facing a Sixers squad that has lost 14 consecutive games and the Thunder can likely win the game without KD, so beware there is a chance they give him the night off. The last time Durant faced Philadelphia he posted a triple-double, so fantasy owners know they could miss out on a big total.
Description: Wizards power forward Trevor Booker had 15 points, seven rebounds and one block Monday against Memphis.
Insight: Booker played 37 minutes Monday after putting up 14 points, seven boards and two blocks in 29 minutes Saturday. He should continue to get a large chunk of minutes with Nene and Kevin Seraphin sidelined.
Description: Grizzlies forward Tayshaun Prince had his first 20-point game of the season Monday against the Wizards.
Insight: He made 8-of-11 from the field (2-3 3PT) and 3-3 from the free-throw line for 21 points with six rebounds and a steal Monday. Prince's previous season-high was just 16 points on Nov. 25, and he is averaging just 6.3 ppg this season despite starting 56 games.
Description: Knicks power forward Amare Stoudemire played 32 minutes and had 22 points and six rebounds Monday at Detroit.
Insight: It probably wasn't a good decision to increase Stoudemire's minutes in the second game of a back-to-back and while the forward has been dealing with knee soreness, but the Knicks don't have much depth.
Description: Heat forward LeBron James erupted for a career-high 61 points Monday against the Bobcats.
Insight: James made 22-of-33 from the field, including a career-high eight threes on 10 attempts, and 9-of-12 from the foul line in the epic performance. He has averaged 37.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 2.9 threes and 2.4 steals over his last seven games.
Description: The Grizzlies will not have forward James Johnson Monday against the Wizards, according to Memphis sideline reporter Rob Fischer.
Insight: Johnson suffered a sprained ankle during the first half of Saturday's game. Prior to that he had averaged 20.5 minutes, 10.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.2 blocks and 0.7 steals over his last 12 games. Tony Allen, Courtney Lee and Mike Miller will take Johnson's minutes.
Description: Nets PF/C Kevin Garnett (back spasms) will not play Monday, according to Tim Bontemps of the New York Post.
Insight: Garnett is playing a career-low 21 mpg as the team tries to keep him fresh and healthy for the end of the season. Mason Plumlee will start in his place Monday, but Andray Blatche will benefit the most.
Description: Knicks power forward Amare Stoudemire scored 14 points on 7-of-8 shooting in 23 minutes Sunday after missing Friday's game with knee soreness, and he says he will ignore the usual routine of sitting out the second half of a back-to-back Monday against Detroit.
Insight: Stoudemire is only going to get 22-25 minutes per game so it will be tough for him to provide consistent fantasy production.
Description: According to Darnell Mayberry of The Oklahoman, Thunder guard Caron Butler will be available to play Tuesday and may even start at shooting guard.
Insight: Butler signed with the Thunder after clearing waivers Saturday but didn't play Sunday because of the weather. With Thabo Sefolosha out for 4-6 weeks with a calf strain, Butler is worth a look in deeper leagues. Reggie Jackson also will continue to play starter's minutes with Sefolosha out, while Jeremy Lamb and Perry Jones will receive extra playing time as well.
Description: Based on comments coach Monty Williams made, it sounds like Pelicans swingman Tyreke Evans will remain in the starting lineup the rest of the season. Evans has started the last two games and averaged 38.1 minutes, 18 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 threes.
Insight: "I try to commit to lineups," Williams said, according to nola.com. "We had Al-Farouq (Aminu) in the lineup for a good portion of two years. When you commit to a guy, you commit to him, you try to help him as best you can. But then it reaches a point where you're like, 'OK, we've got to move in a different direction.'" Evans came off the bench the first 49 games of the season and averaged just 24.8 mpg, 12 ppg, 4.4 rpg and 4.4 apg.
Description: Nuggets power forward Kenneth Faried (knee) will play Monday against the Timberwolves, according to Aaron J. Lopez of nuggets.com.
Insight: Faried banged his knee during Saturday's game but didn't have to leave. The power forward has seen 30 minutes per game over his last seven games and averaged 15.1 points and 7.6 rebounds in that span.
Description: Suns shooting guard Gerald Green dropped 33 points on the Hawks Sunday night.
Insight: Green made 9-of-14 from the field, 5-of-8 from 3-point range and 10-of-10 from the free-throw line for his second 30-point game in the last two weeks. He has averaged 19.6 points and 3.4 threes over his last 16 games. Unfortunately, Eric Bledsoe's impending return from a torn meniscus will likely push Green back to the bench.
Description: Atlanta power forward Mike Scott had zero points on 0-of-6 shooting Wednesday but bounced back with 20 points, five rebounds, three threes and three steals in 40 minutes Sunday at Phoenix.
Insight: Even with the scoreless effort Wednesday included, Scott has produced 16.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.6 threes and 0.8 steals his last five games. It's uncertain what Scott's role will be once Pero Antic and Paul Millsap return from injuries.
Description: San Antonio PF/C Boris Diaw had his first double-double since Jan. 28 on Sunday against the Mavs.
Insight: Diaw had 14 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, a block, a steal and a three in the game. In his last 17 games, Diaw has provided 11.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.6 blocks his last 17 games.
Description: Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard had 16 points, seven rebounds, three threes, one steal and one block in 34 minutes Sunday against Dallas.
Insight: Leonard returned from a broken hand on Feb. 26 and has averaged 14.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 threes, 2.0 steals and 1.7 blocks in the last three games. His 34 minutes Sunday were his most since he returned to the lineup.
Description: Portland small forward Nic Batum was all over the glass Saturday in a win over Denver.
Insight: Batum's 16 rebounds were a career-high. Unfortunately, he only shot 3-of-10 from the field for nine points. Batum is one of just six players averaging at least ten points, five rebounds and five assists this season. Michael Carter-Williams, Kevin Durant, Gordon Hayward, LeBron James and Lance Stephenson are the others.
Description: Nets center Andray Blatche had a productive outing Saturday against Milwaukee.
Insight: Blatche chipped in with 19 points, 13 rebounds, three steals and one blocked shot. He shot 9-of-9 from the free throw line. Of course, Blatche, who played 30 of 48 minutes on Saturday, won't see as much playing time when Kevin Garnett (rest) returns to the lineup Monday against Chicago.
Description: Grizzlies power forward Zach Randolph looked terrific Saturday in a win against Cleveland.
Insight: Z-Bo tormented the Cavs for 23 points, 14 rebounds and four steals. Randolph ranks third among power forwards in rebounding (10.3 rpg) this season and is ninth in scoring (17.3 ppg). He's one of 11 players in the league averaging a double-double.
Description: Kevin Love did Kevin Love things Saturday against Sacramento.
Insight: Love made up for a lackluster shooting night (4-of-12) by hitting almost all of his free throws (12-for-14). In the end, he had 22 points, ten rebounds, seven assists, one block and two steals in 38 minutes of court time. The T-Wolves' five-game road trip ends Monday night in Denver.
Description: LeBron James wasn't allowed to wear his Batman mask on Saturday but that didn't stop him from scoring 20 points on 8-for-12 shooting.
Insight: James needed one more rebound and three more assists for a triple-double. He probably would have gotten there if he had played the fourth quarter. James has averaged 25.5 ppg since returning from a broken nose.
Description: Washington forward Trevor Ariza exploded for a career-high 40 points Saturday in a win over Philadelphia.
Insight: Ariza got off to a phenomenal start with 24 points on 9-of-10 shooting in the first quarter (6-for-6 on three-pointers). Though he only had 16 points the rest of the way, that's still higher than his season average (14.8 ppg). The ten-year veteran has averaged 19.3 ppg during the Wizards' six-game winning streak.
Description: Kings forward Carl Landry is out for Saturday's game against the T-Wolves. SOURCE: James Ham, Cowbell Kingdom
Insight: Landry has been battling a sore knee. With averages of just 4.2 ppg and 3.2 rpg, Landry hasn't done much to impress fantasy owners. Jason Thompson (7.7 ppg, 6.4 rpg) and Derrick Williams (9.0 ppg, 4.3 rpg) should both see more minutes in Landry's absence.
Description: Cavs forward Anthony Bennett will be in uniform Saturday against Memphis. SOURCE: Cleveland Plain Dealer
Insight: That doesn't necessarily mean that he'll get in the game. Bennett missed Friday's game with a knee issue and he could do the same tonight. With Spencer Hawes (13.1 ppg, 8.7 rpg) eating up most of his minutes at power forward, Bennett is back to being a fantasy non-factor.
Description: Nets PF/C Kevin Garnett will not play in Saturday's contest against Milwaukee.
Insight: The 37-year-old has started all 48 games he has appeared in this season but is averaging just 21.1 minutes per game. He has played only 18.6 minutes per game in February as the team limits his time during the regular season. They can probably beat the hapless Bucks without him.
Description: Cavaliers forward Anthony Bennett is dealing with soreness in his right knee and din't play Friday but is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against Memphis.
Insight: Bennett has played just 13.7 minutes per game over the last five games due to the acquisition of Spencer Hawes. He'll play even less when Anderson Varejao returns and shouldn't be owned in any leagues.
Description: Utah center Derrick Favors played 32 minutes Friday against the Cavaliers, his most in three games since returning from a hip injury.
Insight: Favors didn't do much in those minutes, however, posting eight points on 3-of-9 shooting, three rebounds, two blocks and two steals. He averaged 27.5 minutes, 17.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg and 2.5 bpg the previous two games.
Description: Sacramento power forward Carl Landry (knee) will miss Friday's game against the Lakers, according to Mike Trudell of Lakers.com.
Insight: Landry (4.2 ppg) was the projected starter at power forward earlier today with DeMarcus Cousins serving a one-game suspension, but Derrick Williams was announced as the actual starter and now Landry won't even play.
Description: Pelicans swingman Tyreke Evans will start for the first time all season Friday against the Suns.
Insight: New Orleans paid Evans $44 million over four years last summer, but it has played him just 24.8 minutes per game this season. He's averaging 12 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
Description: Cavaliers forward Anthony Bennett is dealing with soreness in his right knee and won't play Friday against the Jazz.
Insight: Bennett had a decent run with averages of 21.1 minutes, 8.7 points and 5.4 rebounds from Jan. 28 to Feb. 18, but he has played just 13.7 minutes per game over the last five games due to the acquisition of Spencer Hawes. He'll play even less when Anderson Varejao returns and shouldn't be owned in any leagues.
Description: New York power forward Amare Stoudemire will miss Friday's game against Golden State with a sore left knee, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post.
Insight: It's the second night of a back-to-back and Stoudemire's knee is still bothering him. After averaging 24.3 mpg, 15 ppg and 6.2 rpg from Feb. 5-21, Stoudemire has scored in single digits that last three games.
Description: Denver coach Brain Shaw said the Nuggets trainer told him Wilson Chandler's knee sprain is not a serious injury and that doctors didn't see anything major. SOURCE: Denver Post
Insight: Chandler has averaged 31.1 minutes, 13.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.1 threes this season. He sat out Thursday, allowing Evan Fournier to start and play 44 minutes, and is without a timetable for his return.
Description: Caron Butler agreed to terms with the Thunder and will sign with them when he clears waivers on Saturday.
Insight: Butler has missed six of the last eight games with a sprained ankle but should be able to return soon. He'll take minutes away from Jeremy Lamb and Thabo Sefolosha, but not enough to be a fantasy option.
Description: Danny Granger has signed with the Los Angeles Clippers, according to Ramona Shelburne of espn.com.
Insight: Granger was traded from Indiana to Philadelphia at the deadline and then bought out of his contract. He averaged 8.3 points on 35.9 percent shooting in 22.5 minutes per game with the Pacers this season and no longer has the legs to be a fantasy option. Even with Jamal Crawford's expected 2-3 game absence, there's no need to pick up Granger.
Description: Warriors power forward David Lee will start Friday's game, according to Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Insight: Lee returned from an illness Wednesday and came off the bench. He'll replace Jermaine O'Neal in the starting lineup. O'Neal, Draymond Green and Harrison Barnes lose significant value with Lee in the lineup.
Description: Atlanta forward Paul Millsap (knee bruise) will not play Sunday against the Suns, according to Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Insight: Millsap's knee injury may be more serious than the team is revealing. He has missed the last three games and already has been ruled out for a game that is two days away. DeMarre Carroll, Elton Brand, Mike Scott and Shelvin Mack will continue to benefit from his absence.
Description: Blazers forward Thomas Robinson (knee) didn't practice Friday, according to Chris Haynes of csnnw.com.
Insight: Robinson has a strained left patella tendon and probably won't play Saturday. LaMarcus Aldridge practiced and is looking likely to play Saturday, so even if Robinson can somehow play he won't be a fantasy option.
Description: Rockets forward Chandler Parsons has been dealing with flu-like symptoms and missed Friday's practice, according to rockets.com reporter Jason Freidman.
Insight: Parsons is averaging 16.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 3.7 apg, 1.1 spg, 1.8 threes per contest - he's a box score filler. Check back after the morning shootaround to see if he's a go for Saturday night against Detroit.
Description: Portland power forward LaMarcus Aldridge (groin) made it through a full practice on Friday without incident and could be ready to go on Saturday.
Insight: Aldridge has missed five straight games with a groin injury, but that could come to an end if he is ok through the morning shootaround. Fantasy owners have not had any Blazer options that posted anything close to Aldridge's 23.9 ppg, 11.4 rpg, 2.8 apg. Damian Lillard was a fantasy monster with Aldridge out of the lineup.
