Justin Upton hit .270 with 29 home runs and drove in a career-best 102 runs.
Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Diego Padres continued what has been a whirlwind week on Friday, as they have apparently acquired outfielder Justin Upton from the Atlanta Braves.

San Diego put the finishing touches on deals for both outfielder Matt Kemp and catcher Derek Norris on Thursday, and are also working toward finalizing a three-team trade that would net them 2013 American League Rookie of the Year Wil Myers.

Now, according to multiple reports, they have picked up Upton. Although the return is not yet known, minor league left-hander Max Fried is one name rumored to be headed to Atlanta.  Full Story

So, where is Scherzer going?

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - One name you didn't hear mentioned a whole lot at Major League Baseball's Winter Meetings last week was right- hander Max Scherzer.

Actually let me correct that. You heard his name from his agent, Scott Boras, who, in his annual scrum with the media, pointed out just how much of a better pitcher Scherzer was than someone like Jon Lester.

Oh and you also heard through the grapevine that Scherzer would likely be seeking a contract in the $200 million range.  Full Story
