SUPER BOWL XXVII Dallas Cowboys 52, Buffalo Bills 17 Rose Bowl, Pasadena, California January 31, 1993 Attendance: 98,374
Buffalo Bills (AFC)
Dallas Cowboys (NFC)
Even with Don Beebe catching Leon Lett from behind, the Cowboys romped to a 52-17 victory.
The Buffalo Bills did show up for the game. That is about the nicest thing anyone can say about this humiliating affair. Channel clicking was hot and heavy by intermission, as the Bills were being thumped for the third time in as many appearances.
Troy Aikman was at the top of his game, completing 22-of-30 passes for 273 yards and four touchdowns, as the Cowboys recorded their third championship in a record sixth appearance. Emmitt Smith rushed for 108 yards and the Cowboys turned nine turnovers into 35 points. Aikman iced the game in the second quarter with two TD strikes, 18 seconds apart, to wideout Michael Irvin.
The win was the ninth in succession for the NFC over the AFC.
