Insight: That's more points than Batum had in his previous two games combined (16). Batum, an average three-point shooter at best, made 3-of-5 from that distance on Thursday. The 44 minutes he logged were his most since playing 45 against Houston in Game 4 of the first round.

Insight: Portland is seeking a protective covering for Batum's face in advance of Sunday's game against the Rockets, Batum's agent said. He was able to play through the injury Friday but now that the Trail Blazers know his nose is broken they won't put him on the court without a mask.

Insight: Batum hasn't missed a game yet this season. The Trail Blazers still don't have a viable option behind Batum (12.8 ppg, 5.4 apg, 6.4 rpg) at small forward so he should see plenty of minutes on Friday.
