Description: Patrick Corbin lasted only 3.1 innings Saturday in a 4-3 loss to the Mets. Corbin surrendered five hits, two walks and four earned runs during the 83-pitch outing. | Insight: Corbin wasn't particularly impressive in his first start of the season on Monday either (5.2 IP, 8 H, 3 ER). Ironically, Josh Collmenter, who lost his position in the Diamondbacks starting rotation to Corbin, did a pretty nice job pitching in long relief Saturday, allowing just three hits and a walk over three scoreless frames. Corbin is only 22 so obviously there are going to be some growing pains along the way. For now, expect Corbin to continue being a starter and Collmenter to continue pitching out of the pen. | | |
