Description: Diamondbacks starter Patrick Corbin didn't walk a batter Sunday against the Rockies, which allowed him to limit the damage to two runs despite giving up nine hits in 6 2/3 innings.
Insight: Corbin hasn't issued a free pass and has 12 strikeouts over 14 innings in his last two starts. He's 3-0 with a 1.91 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP so far.

Description: Diamondbacks starter Patrick Corbin won his first start of 2013 with six solid innings against Milwaukee Saturday night. He scattered eight hits, walked one, allowed two runs and struck out two.
Insight: Corbin was a former second-round pick by the Angels who came over in the Dan Haren trade. He went 6-8 with a 4.54 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 107 innings as a rookie, but he had a 4.00 FIP and showed potential by going 4-4 with a 3.41 ERA over his first 58 innings.

Description: Diamondbacks left-hander Patrick Corbin will begin the season as the team's fifth starter.
Insight: Corbin went 6-8 with a 4.54 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 107 innings as a rookie. He showed some potential by going 4-4 with a 3.41 ERA over his first 58 innings, but allowed 32 earned runs in his final 49 innings (5.88 ERA).

Description: Arizona starter Patrick Corbin's rookie season has gone off the rails as of late. He has just two quality starts in his last eight.
Insight: Corbin was 4-4 with a 3.41 ERA after his start on Aug. 12. Since then, he's 2-4 with an ugly 6.64 ERA in 42 innings. He allowed six runs on seven hits in three innings Thursday against the Giants. Fantasy owners should curb the rookie for the rest of the season.

Hot8/12/2012 7:16:00 PM
Description: Arizona starter Patrick Corbin has thrown three quality starts since being recalled. Corbin held Washington to two runs on four hits with a 7/0 K/BB ratio in seven innings Sunday.
Insight: We expected Trevor Bauer or even Tyler Skaggs to be the rookie to own on Arizona this season, but Corbin has locked down a rotation spot with his last three performances. He's worth a look in deeper leagues.

8/1/2012 9:43:00 PM
Description: Arizona lefthander Patrick Corbin held the Dodgers scoreless over six innings Wednesday in a 4-0 Diamondbacks victory.
Insight: Corbin (3.60 ERA), who was just recalled from Triple-A Reno earlier in the day, improved to 3-4 with the win. He walked two and struck out five over 89 pitches.

Description: The Diamondbacks will promote left-hander Patrick Corbin to start Wednesday. He'll take Josh Collmenter's spot in the rotation, according to Jack Magruder of FoxSportsArizona.com.
Insight: Corbin, who is listed as the eighth best prospect in the Arizona organization by MLB.com, is 5-2 with a 2.84 ERA and 80 strikeouts in 79 1/3 innings in the minor leagues this season. He didn't do that well in five starts fo earlier this season, going 2-3 with a 5.27 ERA, so give him a few starts before you make an add.

5/5/2012 8:49:00 PM
Description: Patrick Corbin lasted only 3.1 innings Saturday in a 4-3 loss to the Mets. Corbin surrendered five hits, two walks and four earned runs during the 83-pitch outing.
Insight: Corbin wasn't particularly impressive in his first start of the season on Monday either (5.2 IP, 8 H, 3 ER). Ironically, Josh Collmenter, who lost his position in the Diamondbacks starting rotation to Corbin, did a pretty nice job pitching in long relief Saturday, allowing just three hits and a walk over three scoreless frames. Corbin is only 22 so obviously there are going to be some growing pains along the way. For now, expect Corbin to continue being a starter and Collmenter to continue pitching out of the pen.
