Description: Nyjer Morgan is headed to Japan. The former Brewers outfielder has inked a one-year, $1.6 million deal to play for the DeNa BayStars.
Insight: The 5-foot-10 Morgan is probably best known for charging the mound and fighting former Marlins starter Chris Volstad, who stands at 6-foot-8. He also famously threw a temper tantrum in center field that led to an inside the park home run. Last year in Milwaukee he hit just .239 with three homers in 289 at bats.

6/3/2012 6:16:00 PM
Description: Brewers outfielder Nyjer Morgan went 1-for-4 with a solo homer and a stolen base against the Pirates on Sunday.
Insight: Morgan has surprisingly homered in two straight games, but that likely didn't help many fantasy owners -- Morgan is owned in just four percent of Yahoo! fantasy leagues. He does have seven steals on the season, but his OPS under .600 makes him unownable.

5/1/2012 8:13:00 PM
Description: Nyjer Morgan won't start Tuesday night against the Padres.
Insight: Morgan failed to record a single RBI in the month of April. Plus he hit only .182. None of that is helpful for fantasy.

4/25/2012 10:45:00 AM
Description: Brewers outfielder Nyjer Morgan isn't in the starting lineup against lefty J.A. Happ. Morgan is a career .201 hitter against southpaws and a .305 hitter against righthanders. Carlos Gomez will make the start in center field
Insight: Morgan is off to a slow start, but did go 3-for-5 on Tuesday night to raise his average to .170. His primary fantasy value is as a base stealer, but you can't steal first.

4/23/2012 4:55:00 PM
Description: Nyjer Morgan isn't starting against the Astros tonight.
Insight: Norichika Aoki (.333, 1 HR, 2 RBIs) is starting in Morgan's place. Morgan hasn't provided much in fantasy this season (.119, 0 HRs).

4/19/2012 11:23:00 AM
Description: Nyjer Morgan has had plenty of success against Aaron Harang. Morgan is hitting .462 in his career against the Dodgers righthander.
Insight: Maybe facing Harang will get Morgan out of the recent slump he has been in (hitless in his last 12 at bats).

Description: Nyjer Morgan broke his finger while trying to bunt in Thursday's game, he will be placed on the 15 day DL. Source: Associated Press
Insight: Nyjer just came off the DL and now he'll be out another few weeks, stash him if you have a DL spot.

Description: Nyjer Morgan has been traded to the Brewers for Cutter Dykstra. SOURCE: USA TODAY
Insight: He should be part of a CF platoon with Carlos Gomez. Both players are very similar. Morgan can get on base slightly better but Gomez is the better defender and has a better head on his shoulders. Neither player is useful in mixed leagues.

3/27/2011 12:02:00 PM
Description: Morgan has been traded to the Brewers.
Insight: The two sides apparently grew to dislike each other, with the Nats reportedly looking to trade Morgan for some time and the player saying he expected to be elsewhere by opening day. In Milwaukee, Morgan is expected to share time in center with Carlos Gomez. Neither player looks like a big fantasy help, though each at least bring speed. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: Nyjer Morgan expects to be traded by opening day. SOURCE: MLB
Insight: The Brewers are rumored to be interested and he would be a good platoon partner with Carlos Gomez. Mixed league owners likely don't want Morgan in drafts this weekend.

2/14/2011 9:04:00 PM
Description: The Washington Post reports that Morgan says he was "immature" last year and is ready to turn things around this season.
Insight: Morgan saw a .050-point tumble in on-base percentage, .054 in average and .124 in OPS between 2009 and 2010. He even stole eight fewer bases despite playing 16 more games and seeing 40 more at bats. His speed will get him drafted in most normal-sized roto leagues, so let's hope he's right about fixing his attitude. (RapidDraft.com)

2/14/2011 4:48:00 PM
Description: Nyjer Morgan is going to be more selective on the base paths this season. SOURCE: WASHINGTON POST
Insight: He stole 34 bases last year but was caught 17 times. Morgan has the potential for 30+ steals this season but his head will dictate his playing time and success a lot more than his legs will.

10/4/2010 8:05:00 AM
Description: Morgan went 1-for-5 with a double and a walk on Sunday against the Mets.
Insight: Morgan ends the year batting .253 with 17 doubles and 24 RBI in 136 games. He also stole 34 bases, good for third in the National League. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: Nyjer Morgan is done serving his suspension and will join the Nationals tomorrow. SOURCE: BILL LADSON ON TWITTER
Insight: Morgan could be a valuable asset for the final week if you are looking for steals. He is a fine replacement for an injured base stealer like Bourn or Crisp.

9/15/2010 7:46:00 PM
Description: Nyjer Morgan continues to avoid suspension. He was in the lineup today and went 0-3.
Insight: MLB is going to get to him soon. When they do, he can be dropped in all leagues because his suspension will keep him out for most of the rest of the season.

Description: Nyjer Morgan is in today's starting lineup against the Braves. SOURCE: Washington Post
Insight: Morgan is not very good at producing anything but steals. His speed will rack up the fantasy points in Rotisserie leagues which is good enough reason to start him.

9/10/2010 7:43:00 PM
Description: Major League Baseball has delayed its decision on the appeal of Nationals OF Nyjer Morgan's two lengthy suspensions. As such, he was in the starting line-up for tonight's game. SOURCE: Yahoo Sports
Insight: Watch the news carefully, but assume MLB will act early next week; Morgan is a risky play in weekly leagues next week.

Description: Nyjer Morgan has been suspended eight games because of his various offenses in recent games. SOURCE: JON HEYMAN ON TWITTER
Insight: He now owes a total of 15 suspension games. He has appealed both suspensions and will have a hearing next Friday.

Description: It's easy to dump on Nyjer Morgan right now. Between his incident with a fan in mid-August, his (superfluous?) hits on catchers, and finally charging the mound and starting a fight on Wednesday night, he looks like he might be facing a ten-game suspension according to Buster Olney at ESPN.com. That would take him through much of the final month, and in H2H leagues, you'd probably want to find someone that can help you in the meantime. But lets not all pile on here. He's an exciting player - and an excitable one. His defense in center is probably not as bad as it's looked this year and not as good as it looked last year, and the same could be said for his offense. Like Rajai Davis in Oakland, players that are mostly about their wheels can go through these ups and downs. One day, Morgan will be useful again, and because of these moments, he might even be cheaper. Remember him, and try not to get too angry at him. Two straight steals in a blowout may (or may not) violate some ancient and out-dated code of contact, but fantasy owners can see straight past that to the value, right? SOURCE: ROTOWORLD
