Description: Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada is batting .333 (12-for-36) over his last nine games and is 8-for-17 (.471) against Sunday's opposing starter Tim Hudson.
Insight: Tejada posted an average in the .280s in each of the last two seasons, but even with his recent hot streak is hitting just .255 this year. NL-only owners should have him in the lineup Sunday, however, with Hudson on the hill.

9/27/2012 9:52:00 AM
Description: New York shortstop Ruben Tejada had a big night Wednesday against Pittsburgh, collecting four hits and two RBI in five at bats.
Insight: Tejada has maintained a solid batting average all year (.296) but usually doesn't show much power. That trend continued Wednesday night at Citi Field: all four of his hits were singles.

6/5/2012 9:05:00 PM
Description: Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada (quad) left Tuesday's minor league rehab game with Triple-A Buffalo after aggravating his right quad injury.
Insight: Tejada was supposed to return this weekend, but this will certainly keep him out longer. The 22-year-old was hitting .305 at the time of his injury, though he doesn't offer much production in any other category.

5/7/2012 4:48:00 PM
Description: Updating an earlier report, the Mets have placed Ruben Tejada (quad) on the 15-day disabled list.
Insight: Tejada stumbled and fell on his face while running to first on Sunday. The shortstop is hitting .305 with eight RBIs on the year, but his lack of power or speed production means he's not that difficult to replace for fantasy purposes. However, you'll have to look outside the Mets organization to do that.

5/7/2012 3:23:00 PM
Description: Ruben Tejada (quad) is not in Monday's lineup.
Insight: Tejada is likely headed for the disabled list after suffering a strained quad on Sunday, though the Mets haven't decided on that result yet.

5/6/2012 10:11:00 PM
Description: Ruben Tejada injured himself sliding into first base Sunday and was forced to leave the game. Tejada will have an MRI on his injured leg and is most likely headed to the DL. The Mets believe Tejada has a strained right quad.
Insight: He also received a cut under his eye as a result of the dangerous slide. Tejada (.305, 0 HRs, 8 RBIs) had been 2-for-2 in the game before Justin Turner came in to pinch run for him after he got hurt. Turner (.226, 0 HR, 3 RBIs) will probably see the majority of the playing time at shortstop with Tejada out.

4/18/2012 11:48:00 AM
Description: Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada will not start Wednesday afternoon's game against Atlanta. He's being given a day of rest.
Insight: Tejada hasn't much of an offensive threat in the past so likely isn't on many fantasy rosters, but he's batting .262 with a solid .731 OPS.

3/12/2010 10:14:00 PM
Description: With Jose Reyes unlikely to be ready for the start of the regular season, Tejada is a candidate to be the Mets' starting shortstop.
Insight: Tejada, who hit .289 with five home runs and 46 RBI last season in Double-A, will battle with Alex Cora for the spot. The young Tejada would certainly need to impress to leap above Cora. (SportsBuff.com)
