Wednesday, May 28th (All times Eastern)

LA Angels of Anaheim (29-22) at Seattle Mariners (25-26), 10:10 p.m.

Probable Starting Pitchers: LA Angels - C.J. Wilson (6-3, 3.00) Seattle - Felix Hernandez (6-1, 2.75)

(SportsNetwork.com) - Felix Hernandez goes after a fourth straight win on Wednesday when the Seattle Mariners continue a four-game series with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at Safeco Field.

Hernandez improved to 6-1 on the year Friday with another dominating win over the Houston Astros, as he held them to a run and five hits in eight innings. He also struck out nine batters and lowered his ERA to 2.75.

"Everything was working," Hernandez said of his latest start. "It was crazy. I was throwing a lot of strikes. The game plan was to throw a lot of strikes and use a lot of fastballs."

Hernandez has struggled in his career versus the Angels, going just 9-13 against them with a 3.89 ERA in 36 starts. Since the start of 2013, though, he's 3-1 with a 1.61 in four meetings against them and beat the Angels on Opening Day thanks in part to 10 strikeouts.

Los Angeles, meanwhile, will counter with lefty C.J. Wilson, who has won his last two starts. Wilson beat the Kansas City Royals on Friday, as he held them to a run and four hits, but walked four batters over 6 1/3 frames. Still, it was his fourth win in five decisions and improved him to 6-3 on the year to go along with a 3.00 ERA.

"I think the changeup for me has been a big development this year," Wilson said. "(Friday) I was able to use it multiple times in counts and get guys out. I got a bunch of outs on it."

Wilson has faced the Mariners 55 times (18 starts) and is 14-7 against them with seven saves and a 3.77 ERA.

Los Angeles continued to surge on Tuesday, as C.J. Cron homered and drove in two runs to help the Angels to a 6-4 win. Mike Trout, Erick Aybar and Chris Iannetta each had an RBI for Los Angeles, which has won 12 of its last 17 games and has climbed within 1 1/2 games of first place in the American League West.

Jered Weaver (6-3) picked up the win after going six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits with five strikeouts.

"It was just one of those games where you had to battle," Weaver said. "These guys put up three early runs and helped me out a little bit early."

Seattle starter Roenis Elias (3-4) was charged with five runs on eight hits with five strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings in the loss.

Justin Smoak homered and Dustin Ackley scored twice for the Mariners, who have lost three of their last four.

Seattle has won five of seven from the Angels this season.
