(Sports Network) - The Arizona Diamondbacks have lost three in a row and will try to get back on track Saturday in the second meeting of a three-game series versus the Washington Nationals.
The Diamondbacks dropped an 8-4 decision on Friday, as Patrick Corbin allowed five runs and six hits in five innings to suffer the loss.
"I felt fine and healthy and made it through a full season," said Corbin. "Hopefully next year I can improve and get better and learn from my mistakes."
Didi Gregorius, Gerardo Parra and Matt Davidson had an RBI apiece for Arizona. Paul Goldschmidt extended his hitting streak to 17 with a single in the fifth inning.
Toeing the rubber for the D'backs Saturday will be Brandon McCarthy. McCarthy has a 5-10 record in 21 starts with a 4.64 ERA and lost his last outing Monday in a 4-1 setback at San Diego, where he gave up four runs and eight hits in six innings.
McCarthy, who was 2-0 in three starts, has never faced the Nationals.
Washington ended a three-game losing streak with Friday's win at Arizona.
Stephen Strasburg delivered seven innings of two-run ball for the win and Jayson Werth and Wilson Ramos each hit three-run homers for Washington.
"You've got to grind through it, and I was able to make the adjustments in the end," Strasburg said.
Dan Haren gets the start for the Nats Saturday and he is 9-14 with a 4.87 ERA in 30 games (29 starts) this season. Haren is 1-3 in his past four decisions and 1-1 with a 5.00 ERA in two career games (1 start) against his former Arizona club. Haren pitched two-plus season with the D'backs.
The Nationals are 3-1 against Arizona this season.
