San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - Isi Sofele rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown to lead Cal to a 30-7 win over Washington State in Pac-12 action at AT&T Park.
Zach Maynard threw for 118 yards and a touchdown for Cal (5-4, 2-4 Pac-12), while Keenan Allen added eight catches for 85 yards as the Golden Bears racked up 411 yards of total offense. Maynard left the game in the third quarter after being injured, but Cal was up by 30 points at that point and were never threatened by Washington State (3-5, 1-5).
Marshall Lobbestael threw for 155 yards for the Cougars, who registered just 224 yards of total offense and finished four-of-16 on third down. Rickey Galvin led Washington State in rushing with 73 yards and one touchdown on 12 carries.
Maynard got Cal on the board early in the first quarter, hitting Anthony Miller on a 19-yard touchdown pass that capped a quick six-play, 66-yard drive. Sofele scored on a one-yard touchdown plunge with 1:31 remaining in the first quarter, giving the Golden Bears a 13-0 lead. Giorgio Tavecchio's PAT attempt was blocked.
Cal added two more scores in the second quarter to put the game well in handle. C.J. Anderson scored on five-yard touchdown run with 5:21 remaining in the stanza to cap a nine-play, 71-yard drive. Tavecchio tacked on a 43-yard field goal with 56 seconds remaining before halftime to give the Golden Bears a 23-0 advantage.
Cal scored on its first posession of the second half, as Will Kapp busted loose on a 43-yard touchdown run.
Galvin scored Washington State's only touchdown of the game with 13:38 remaining, on a five-yard touchdown scamper following a fumble by Kapp.
