NCAA Game Summary - Nevada at Idaho

Final Score: (25) Nevada 63, Idaho 17

Moscow, ID (Sports Network) - Colin Kaepernick threw for 320 yards and five touchdowns on 20-of-30 passing, while Mike Ball ran for 101 yards and two scores on nine carries, as the Nevada Wolf Pack trounced the Idaho Vandals, 63-17.

Lampford Mark ran for 116 yards on six carries and Vai Taua ran for 113 yards on 18 attempts for Nevada (8-1, 3-1 WAC), which has won the last six meetings with Idaho.

Nathan Enderle threw for 224 yards on 15-of-34 passing with a touchdown and ran for 13 yards and a score for the Vandals (4-5, 1-3), who have lost two in a row, both against conference opponents.

Justin Veltung posted a 75-yard reception to record the only other Idaho touchdown.

Nevada set a new school record with 844 yards of total offense in the game, and Kaepernick's five touchdown passes were a new personal record. He also tied a school record with 78 career touchdown tosses.

Kaepernick threw two touchdowns in the first -- a 28-yard strike to Shane Anderson and a 53-yard bomb to Rishard Matthews -- to take a 14-0 lead at the end of the frame.

The Nevada signal caller added his third passing touchdown on the first drive of the second when he connected with Malcolm Shepherd for a 6-yard score 48 seconds into the second quarter.

Idaho had the ball with 10:10 remaining in the half and took a 14-play drive down to the Wolf Pack 16, but could manage only a Trey Farquhar 31-yard field goal to cut the large deficit to 21-3.

Kaepernick connected with Matthews for a 2-yard score as time expire in the opening half to give the Wolf Pack a 28-3 advantage heading to intermission.

Nevada opened the scoring in the third quarter as Kaepernick connected with Virgil Green for a 7-yard strike that capped a quick 4-play, 69-yard drive 3 1/2 minutes in.

Enderle ran for a 12-yard score with 6:24 remaining to cut the deficit to 35-10, but the relentless Nevada offense added their sixth score of the game with 3:38 left in the third when Matthews broke for a 7-yard run.

Idaho responded in the final minutes of the quarter when Enderle connected with Veltung for a 75-yard strike that the receiver took the down the sideline, but Nevada took at 42-17 lead heading into the fourth and added three more scores in the final quarter to pad the stat sheet.

Ball scored both of his touchdowns in the final quarter of play, and backup quarterback Tyler Lantrip threw a 57-yard touchdown to Tray Session with 3:28 remaining to complete the record setting day for the Wolf Pack.

Game Notes

Nevada owns an 18-9 lead in the series, and they are now 8-7 in Moscow...The Idaho field goal drive was their only trip into Nevada territory in the first half...The former record for total yards by a Nevada team was 794, set in 1993 against UNLV... Kaepernick tied Eric Beavers (1983-86) for the school's all- time touchdown record with 74.
