San Jose, CA (Sports Network) - Kama Bailey ran for 163 yards and two touchdowns as the Idaho Vandals bounced back to capture a 32-29 win over the San Jose State Spartans in a Western Athletic Conference bout at Spartan Stadium.

Bailey ran the ball 19 times as the Vandals (2-7, 1-4 WAC) snapped a six-game losing streak and picked up their first win of the season over another school from the Football Bowl Subdivision. Quarterback Taylor Davis converted 13- of-20 passes for 162 yards and a score, but was intercepted once and was taken down for five sacks.

The Spartans (3-6, 2-3) were paced by Matt Faulkner who connected on 29-of-41 passes for 289 yards and a score in the losing cause. The defeat was the second in a row and the third in four outings for SJSU.

San Jose State set itself up for what should have been an easy victory, racing out to a 20-0 advantage. Kicker Jens Alvernik knocked through field goals of 19 and 26 yards during the run, while Brandon Rutley added on a three-yard TD run and Tyler Ervin scored from 11 yards out.

Idaho responded at the 9:03 mark of the second quarter when Bailey reached the end zone on a two-yard run.

Later in the period SJSU record a safety to make the score 22-7, but Idaho refused to go quietly into the break as Trey Farquhar knocked through a 55- yard field goal as time expired to bring the visitors to within 12 points at 22-10.

Following a scoreless third quarter Idaho erupted for three straight touchdowns, the first coming on a three-yard run by Bailey. Davis locked up with Mike LaGrone on a 13-yard TD pass with just under four minutes remaining, followed by a one-yard TD run by Ryan Bass to make the score 32-22.

The Spartans managed to move the ball 76 yards in just 41 seconds, culminating with a 47-yard TD pass from Faulkner to Ryan Otten, but it was too little, too late.

SJSU, which entered the week averaging just 114.9 ypg on the ground to rank 103rd nationally, managed to produce a mere 68 yards on 25 attempts on the day.
