Miami, FL (Sports Network) - John Hubert rushed for 166 yards and one touchdown
to lead the Kansas State Wildcats to a 28-24 victory over the Miami-Florida
Hurricanes in a non-conference bout at Sun Life Stadium.
Collin Klein added 93 rushing yards and one touchdown for Kansas State (3-0),
but the quarterback also threw for 133 yards and two more scores in the win.
Jacory Harris led the way for Miami (1-2), throwing for 272 yards and two
touchdowns. Lamar Miller was solid out of the backfield for the Hurricanes, as
he rumbled for 106 yards and one touchdown on just 18 totes.
The Hurricanes scored on their first drive of the matchup, as Jake Wieclaw gave
Miami a 3-0 lead with a 39-yard boot.
The Wildcats responded with an 11-play, 63-yard drive that was capped off with
a two-yard touchdown run by Klein.
The only score of the second quarter came from Kansas State, as Klein connected
with Tyler Lockett for a 20-yard scoring strike.
Miami cut its deficit to 14-10 midway through the third quarter when Harris
found Tommy Streeter for a four-yard score.
Kansas State wasted little time in its response, as Klein connected with Travis
Tannahill for a three-yard touchdown.
Less than two minutes later the Hurricanes were back on the scoreboard, as
Miller broke free and scampered down field for a 59-yard score.
Miami's momentum carried over into the fourth quarter, as Harris's second TD of
the game went to Travis Benjamin for 34 yards and gave the Hurricanes a 24-21
The Wildcats responded on their next drive, as Hubert's two-yard touchdown gave
KSU a 28-24 advantage and the team would hold on to that lead through the rest
of the matchup.
