Tulsa opened the scoring with a six-yard touchdown run by Kinne early in the first quarter.

Later in the frame, Padron connected with Johnson on a 22-yard scoring strike to knot things up.

The lone score of the second quarter came from Padron, who hooked up with Cole Beasley from 32 yards out.

Padron extended SMU's lead to 21-7 after he threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Bradley Haynes early in the third quarter.

Kevin Fitzpatrick then hit a 30-yard field goal for Tulsa a few minutes later.

With just under seven minutes left, Kinne scampered three yards to paydirt. He then hit Charles Clay for a successful two-point conversion to make it a 21-18 game. The Hurricane, however, would get no closer in the defeat.
