Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Kyle Padron threw for 381 yards and three touchdowns, as the SMU Mustangs hung on to defeat the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, 21-18, in a Conference USA battle at Gerald J. Ford Stadium.

Padron hit on 27-of-40 pass attempts for SMU (4-2, 3-0 C-USA), while Aldrick Robinson grabbed five balls for 118 yards. Darius Johnson also cracked the century mark, finishing with 102 yards and a score on eight receptions.

G.J. Kinne led Tulsa (3-3, 1-2), which had its two game win streak stopped, with 229 yards on 20-of-41 pass attempts. He also ran for 38 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Tulsa opened the scoring with a six-yard touchdown run by Kinne early in the first quarter.

Later in the frame, Padron connected with Johnson on a 22-yard scoring strike to knot things up.

The lone score of the second quarter came from Padron, who hooked up with Cole Beasley from 32 yards out.

Padron extended SMU's lead to 21-7 after he threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Bradley Haynes early in the third quarter.

Kevin Fitzpatrick then hit a 30-yard field goal for Tulsa a few minutes later.

With just under seven minutes left, Kinne scampered three yards to paydirt. He then hit Charles Clay for a successful two-point conversion to make it a 21-18 game. The Hurricane, however, would get no closer in the defeat.
