Murfreesboro, TN (Sports Network) - Dwight Dasher threw for 219 yards and a
pair of touchdowns to lead the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders to a 34-17
victory over the UL-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns in a Sun Belt Conference battle at
D.D. Kyles ran for 177 yards on 20 carries in the win for Middle Tennessee
(7-3, 5-1 SBC), while Dasher added 89 yards on the ground as well. Garrett
Andrews caught four passes for 80 yards and a score for the Blue Raiders.
Chris Masson completed 25-of-43 passes for 220 yards and a touchdown and an
interception to lead ULL (5-5, 3-3) in the losing effort, while Richie Falgout
caught six passes for 76 yards for the Cajuns.
A three-yard run by Masson early in the opening period of play enabled the
Cajuns to jump out to a 7-0 lead.
The Blue Raiders tied the contest just minutes later with an 18-yard toss from
Dasher to Patrick Honeycutt.
The Cajuns regained the lead early in the second quarter with a 24-yard Tyler
Albrecht field goal, but the Blue Raiders responded with a 20-yard
interception return by Jamari Lattimore to take a 14-10 lead.
Masson gave ULL a 17-14 lead heading into the break following a seven-yard
toss to Vernon Wolfe with under 10 seconds remaining in the opening half.
The second half was all Middle Tennessee, as the Blue Raiders rattled off four
unanswered scores en route to the win, beginning with a 19-yard toss from
Dasher to Andrews to open the third period. The Blue Raiders added a
30-yard Alan Gendreau field goal late in the frame to take a 24-17 lead.
Desmond Gee found the end zone early in the final quarter following a seven-
yard scamper, and Gendreau tacked on another 30-yard kick midway through the
frame to account for the 34-17 final.
