(Saturday, September 26th)

Final Score: Arizona 37, Oregon State 32

Corvallis, OR (Sports Network) - Nick Foles threw for 254 yards and three scores, as the Arizona Wildcats clawed their way past the Oregon State Beavers, 37-32, in Pac-10 play at Reser Stadium.

Foles connected on 25-of-34 pass attempts for Arizona (3-1, 1-0 Pac-10) and he also rushed for a touchdown. Greg Nwoko also had a nice game for the Wildcats, as he rushed for 44 yards and a score, in addition to catching four balls for 76 yards. Arizona gained 388 yards of total offense in a nice rebound performance following a loss to Iowa last weekend.

Sean Canfield threw for 303 yards and a pair of touchdowns for OSU (2-2, 0-1), but he was also picked off twice. James Rodgers hauled in eight balls for 119 yards, and Damola Adeniji grabbed six passes for 70 yards and a score. Jacquizz Rodgers also had a big night, as he rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns, while grabbing a team-high 13 passes for 70 yards. The Beavers have now dropped two straight games, both of which have come at home.

The Wildcats were the first to get on the board, as Foles threw a two-yard touchdown pass to Delashaun Dean with just over six minutes left in the opening frame.

The Beavers countered with two seconds remaining in the first period, as Canfield hit Adeniji on an 11-yard scoring strike.

Jacquizz Rodgers gave OSU a 14-7 lead with a one-yard plunge midway through the second quarter.

Arizona countered several minutes later behind a 19-yard touchdown run from Nwoko.

Justin Kahut hit a 22-yard field goal on the last play of the first half, giving OSU a 17-14 lead at the intermission.

Arizona came on strong in the third quarter, scoring a pair of touchdowns for a 28-17 lead. Foles first rushed one yard for a score before throwing a three- yard touchdown pass to Juron Criner.

OSU made things interesting in the fourth period when Jacquizz Rodgers scurried two yards to paydirt. The Beavers then converted a two-point try to make it just a 28-25 game.

Foles and company, though, responded midway through the final period with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Terrell Turner.

However, the Beavers refused to go away and Canfield hit Aaron Nichols from 13 yards away to pull the team within three points.

Arizona's defense sealed the deal with a safety with under a minute left, as the Wildcats claimed the 37-32 victory.

The Wildcats recorded five sacks and a pair of takeaways to help compensate for the 407 total yards it allowed in the win.
