Jonathan Crompton paced Tennessee (5-5, 2-4) in defeat, completing 20-of-37 pass attempts for 176 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Tennessee knotted the score later in the frame, when Crompton completed a 16- yard touchdown pass to Jeff Cottam.

Crompton forced a tie once again, though, as he hit Denarius Moore for a 25- yard scoring strike early in the second quarter.

The Rebels were able to grab a 21-14 halftime lead thanks to a 32-yard touchdown run by McCluster with just under seven minutes left in the first half.

Daniel Lincoln hit a 27-yard field goal early in the third quarter, but the Vols' offense wouldn't be heard from again.

Late in the third quarter, Ole Miss pushed its advantage to 28-17, as Bolden plunged one yard for a score.

The Rebels put the game out of reach early in the fourth quarter, when McCluster broke loose for a 71-yard touchdown run.
