(SportsNetwork.com) - Alabama received national letters of intent from two other five-star prospects during National Signing Day to bolster an already loaded recruiting class ranked as this year's best in the nation.
Linebacker Rashaan Evans and athlete Bo Scarbrough each announced their decision to join the Crimson Tide program during press conferences held at their respective high schools on Wednesday. Evans, an Auburn native, was rated as the No. 1 linebacker and 14th overall prospect by Rivals.com. Scarbrough, a 6-foot-2, 234-pounder who hails from the Tuscaloosa area, is listed No. 16 overall by Rivals.
The two add to an impressive Alabama crop that had already received verbal commitments from Woodbridge (VA) defensive end Da'Shawn Hand, the nation's No. 1 overall prospect, as well as five-star in-state defensive back Marlon Humphrey.
It's the sixth time in seven years that the Crimson Tide have captured top honors on National Signing Day.
Adoree Jackson, the highest-ranked member of the 2014 class yet to commit, announced Wednesday that he will attend USC as part of new head coach Steve Sarkisian's first recruiting group. The Gardena (CA) athlete, rated sixth overall by Rivals, chose the Trojans over UCLA, LSU and Florida.
Though LSU missed out on Jackson, the Tigers did land five-star wide receiver Malachi Dupre to strengthen a class that trails only Alabama's in Rivals' national standings. The Louisiana product joins a contingent that also contains this year's top-ranked running back in New Orleans' Leonard Fournette.
Defending BCS champion Florida State, meanwhile, landed a blue-chip wideout of its own on Wednesday in Homestead (FL) standout Ermon Lane. The five-star prospect is part of a class listed fourth in Rivals' rankings, behind Alabama, LSU and Ohio State.
Tennessee came in fifth, with Texas A&M, Florida, Auburn, Georgia and Notre Dame rounding out the top 10.
Texas A&M's haul includes the nation's No. 1 rated quarterback, Kyle Allen out of Scottsdale, AZ, as well as Rivals' No. 2 overall prospect in Dallas-area defensive end Myles Garrett.
