First-inning burst helps Wolf, Rangers down A's

Ross Wolf gave up a run on three hits with three strikeouts in his first major league start.
Arlington, TX (Sports Network) - David Murphy and Adrian Beltre slugged first-inning homers to back a solid performance from Ross Wolf, and Texas clipped Oakland, 3-1, in the finale of a three-game set.

Murphy's blast was a two-run shot and Beltre added a solo homer for the Rangers, who avoided a sweep at the hands of their division rivals.

Recalled from Triple-A prior to the game for his first major league start, Wolf (1-0) gave up a run on three hits with three strikeouts and a pair of walks over five-plus innings.  continue>>
