GAME NOTES: A pair of teams sitting in the middle of the Mid-American Conference pack do battle on Saturday afternoon, as the Eastern Michigan Eagles pay a visit to the Miami-Ohio RedHawks.

Eastern Michigan beat Bowling Green on Wednesday night, 69-57. That win stopped a brief two-game losing streak and left the Eagles at 5-5 in their last 10 outings, and put them four games over .500 overall (12-8) and one game over in conference (4-3).

Also on Wednesday night, Miami dropped an 83-70 decision to Toledo. Prior to that loss, the RedHawks had won three straight. Miami is 8-10 on the season, and 4-3 in MAC play.

Miami leads the all-time series, 46-22, although Eastern Michigan got the best of the RedHawks the last two times the teams met, including a 58-47 victory in the second round of the 2013 MAC Tournament.

Behind Glenn Bryant's double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds, Eastern Michigan took down the Bowling Green Falcons at the Convocation Center earlier this week. For the Eagles, Mike Talley added 12 points, while Daylen Harrison and Raven Lee each finished with 10. The Eagles took a 39-29 lead, and after the Falcons got as close as five early in the second half, but the Eagles were able to pull away, pushing their lead to as many as 19 points as they coasted to victory. EMU also finished with a 24-4 edge in points off turnovers, as the team took advantage of 17 miscues by BGSU.

Karrington Ward tops the team in scoring this season with 13.3 ppg on 42.3 percent shooting from the field. Ward's 6.9 rpg is tops on the club, as are his 30 steals. Bryant scores 11.1 ppg and Mike checks in with 10.4 ppg. Lee scores 10.0 ppg, while Talley leads the team with 71 assists. As a collective unit, the Eagles are scoring 68.5 ppg while giving up 63.8 ppg.

Miami was led by Geovonie McKnight, who netted 18 points, in the recent loss to Toledo. Quinten Rollins added 14 points and Will Sullivan chipped in 11. Trailing 37-33, the RedHawks allowed the Rockets to connect on 64 percent of their field goal attempts, as Toledo pulled away for the double-digit triumph.

Will Felder leads the team in scoring this season with 14.7 ppg on 55.3 percent shooting from the floor, and he adds a team-best 6.9 rpg for good measure. Rollins is the team leader in assists with 73, and he has a team-best 44 steals as well. Miami is averaging 67.2 ppg.

Neither of these teams has been tearing it up this season, but the Eagles have the edge in scoring and play tighter defense, so expect them to leave Oxford with a win.
