GAME NOTES: The South Dakota State Jackrabbits pursue their fourth straight win on Saturday afternoon, as they tangle with the IUPUI Jaguars at The Jungle.

Although IUPUI is 6-5 all-time against SDSU, the Jackrabbits have taken the last four meetings.

South Dakota State continued its climb to the top of the Summit League standings on Thursday as it defeated Western Illinois, 59-53, on the road to arrive at 5-2 in conference. The Jackrabbits are 14-6 overall despite a very difficult non-conference slate that included opponents like Alabama, Tennessee State, Minnesota, Belmont and New Mexico. Coach Scott Nagy's squad actually upset the then undefeated Lobos on the road, where it is 4-5 on the season. Nate Wolters led all scorers with 22 points in the team's recent win over WIU, which pushed his school-record career total to 2,010 points. Jordan Dykstra added 12 points and Chad White had 10 points and nine rebounds.

The Jackrabbits are leading the Summit League in scoring (72.4), assists (14.6), and rank second with 150 made 3-pointers. The team revolves around Wolters, who fills up the stat sheet with 21.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per tilt. Jordan Dykstra (12.8 ppg, 6.9 rpg) and Tony Fiegen (10.4 ppg, 5.9 rpg) are both solid contributors as scorers and rebounders. The Jackrabbits' offensive capabilities were on display against WIU, as they hit 51.2 percent of their field goal attempts, including 7-of-15 from beyond the arc, to pick up their third straight victory. SDSU also had a very encouraging performance on the other end, as the Leathernecks' 53 points set a new opponent-low.

IUPUI is headed in the opposite direction of the Jackrabbits. The Jaguars were trounced, 78-40, by North Dakota State on Thursday to have their losing slide extended to five games. The setback dropped the team to 6-15 overall and 1-6 in Summit League action. IUPUI shot just 31.1 percent from the floor and trailed by as many as 43 points in its recent loss to the Bison.

Mitchell Patton tallied 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting, but he was the only Jaguar to score in double-figures in the lopsided loss. The starting five shot a collective 3-of-23 from the field and committed a combined total of eight turnovers. John Hart paces the team with 14.2 ppg, while Patton adds 12.7 ppg.

It's safe to say that IUPUI will not win many games if its starting five finishes with more turnovers than field goals. Although the Jaguars' poor performance was against the first-place Bison, the Jackrabbits will provide no easier of a challenge. IUPUI will struggle to limit Wolters, who should continue to fill up the stat sheet as he leads SDSU to victory.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: South Dakota State 82, IUPUI 59
