GAME NOTES: Two teams looking to end long losing streaks battle on Saturday, as the Marist Red Foxes welcome the Saint Peter's Peacocks for a Metro- Atlantic Athletic Conference matchup at McCann Arena.

Marist enters this tilt having dropped its last eight contests, while Saint Peter's will be trying to avoid a sixth straight game.

Marist's most recent setback came on Thursday when it was upended by Loyola- Maryland. Anell Alexis and Adam Kemp each finished with 14 points to lead the way for Red Foxes, who are just 4-14 on the season.

Saint Peter's fared no better in its matchup with Rider on Thursday, as the Peacocks fell, 66-54. Yvon Raymond had 15 points in the loss, while Chris Burke finished with 11 points for Saint Peter's, which, like Marist, is just 1-6 in MAAC play thus far.

Marist beat the Peacocks three times last season, snapping what had been a five-game win streak for Saint Peter's. Despite the setbacks, the Peacocks still own a 20-19 edge in the all-time series.

Coach Chuck Martin's fifth season at the helm of Marist's program continued its rocky course versus the Greyhounds, as his squad shot just 46.3 percent from the floor including a 33.3 clip from beyond the arc. However, they only made 1-of-7 attempts from 3-point land after the half. The Red Foxes allowed Loyola-Maryland to shoot 66.7 percent in the opening half to build a sizeable halftime edge that they were unable to overcome. In addition to Alexis and Kemp, sophomore wing Chavaughn Lewis registered 12 points in the losing effort. Devin Price is the team's leader in the scoring column with 14.6 ppg while Lewis is close behind with 14.3 ppg. Kemp has been a key role player with 7.5 points and a team-best 7.6 rebounds a game.

Saint Peter's has had an equally difficult time of putting the ball in the net this season. The Peacocks shoot just 41.4 percent as a team, while averaging 60.3 points. In fact, Saint Peter's has failed to reach the 60-point mark in any game during the current five-game slide. Desi Washington leads the way with 14.7 ppg, albeit on just 38.0 percent shooting. Raymond is the team's only other double-figure scorer, averaging 10.6 points and 5.2 rebounds.

Without much scoring punch, the Peacocks will be at the mercy of Marist in this meeting. The Red Foxes might not win much this season, but they should get a victory on Saturday.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Marist 65, Saint Peter's 61
