NCAA Game Summary - George Mason vs. New Mexico

St. Thomas, VI (Sports Network) - Tony Snell nailed a 3-poointer with less than two seconds left in regulation as the New Mexico Lobos erased a five- point deficit with 11 seconds remaining to pull out a 70-69 win over the George Mason Patriots in the Paradise Jam semifinals at the Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center.

Snell finished with a game-high 27 points and Kendall Williams added 14 for New Mexico (3-0). Cameron Bairstow had 10 points off the bench and Alex Kirk led the Lobos with nine rebounds.

Sherrod Wright was the lead scorer for George Mason (2-2) with 22 points. Johnny Williams had 12 points and eight rebounds while Patrick Holloway chipped in 11 off the bench.

The teams were tied 28-28 at halftime with New Mexico shooting 39.1 percent from the floor. George Mason turned in a 30.0 percent shooting effort overall but nailed six three-pointers to keep pace.

After Wright hit two free throws with 17 seconds remaning the Patriots looked to have the game in hand. However on the next posession Williams knocked down a 3-pointer to pull the Wolf Pack within two. After a timeout from George Mason, Williams stole the inbounds pass and the ball wound up in Snell's hands who knocked down the game-winning shot.

New Mexico advances to face either Connecticut or Quinnipiac in the Paradise Jam finals.
