Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Erick Green scored a game-high 28 points as the Virginia Tech Hokies registered a 70-65 overtime win against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in an Atlantic Coast Conference affair at McCamish Pavilion.

Also scoring in double figures for the Hokies (10-6, 1-2 ACC) as they snapped a four-game slide were C.J. Barksdale and Robert Brown with 11 and 10 points, respectively, the former also clearing a team-best 10 rebounds.

The Yellow Jackets (10-5, 0-3) were paced by Robert Carter Jr. with 12 points, although he shot just 2-of-12 from the floor as the team suffered a third straight setback. Mfon Udofia and Marcus Georges-Hunt both dropped in 11 points and Chris Bolden 10 off the bench in the losing cause. Daniel Miller added 11 rebounds and four blocked shots.

A close game throughout, the hosts were able to move out to a five-point lead at the 4:17 mark of the first quarter, 22-17, but had to settle for a 25-22 advantage at the break.

After shooting just 26.9 percent from the floor in the first half and missing on all seven attempts behind the 3-point line, the Hokies battled back from an 11-point deficit and tied the game at 55-55 when Green knocked down a pair of free throws with 24 seconds remaining in regulation.

In the overtime session, VaTech missed just one of six shots from the floor and was a perfect 4-of-4 at the charity stripe as it registered the comeback win.

The Hokies survived despite shooting only 3-of-16 beyond the arc on the afternoon.
