                 === Swansea tops St Gallen in Europa League ===
 Swansea,  Wales  ( - Swansea  City made  it two wins from two
 Europa League fixtures on Thursday after claiming a 1-0 victory over Swiss side
 St Gallen in Group A play at the Liberty Stadium.
 After  a  comfortable 3-0 win over  Valencia in their maiden European voyage on
 Sept.  19, the Swans came out motivated in front of their home fans on Thursday
 and dominated play for the first 10-plus minutes.
 But things took a turn in favor of the visitors in the 15th minute when a cross
 in  the box  was  inadvertently  handled by  Swans  defender Dwight  Tiendalli,
 resulting in a penalty kick.
 Goran  Karanovic stepped up for St Gallen, but telegraphed his strike which was
 easily  stopped  by Swansea goalkeeper Gerhard  Tremmel and the clubs went into
 the break on level terms.
 Swansea  turned up the  pressure at the outset of the second half and got their
 reward in the 52nd minute of play when Wilfried Bony ran onto a through ball on
 the  right  side of  the box.  His strike  was stopped  by St Gallen goalkeeper
 Daniel  Lopar, but Wayne  Routledge was there at the back post to bang home the
 The  visitors  created a few more  quality chances, but the Swans backline held
 firm  to  collect the  three points  and maintain  their spot  atop the Group A
 standings  through  two matches. St  Gallen, meanwhile, remains in second place
 in the group.
 Elsewhere  in Group  A on Thursday, Paco Alcacer and Sofiane Feghouli scored as
 Valencia  collected  a 2-0 result over  Russian side Kuban Krasnador to rise to
 third place in the group standings.
 In  Group  B on  Thursday, Dutch  side PSV Eindhoven  rolled to  a 2-0 win over
 Chornomorets, while Ludogrets eased by Dinamo Zagreb by a 3-0 count.
 Group C action saw Elfsborg and Standard Liege battle to a 1-1 stalemate, while
 Red Bull Salzburg earned a 2-1 result over Esbjerg.
 Russian club Rubin Kazan completed a 4-0 rout of Zulte-Wargem in Group D, while
 English Championship side Wigan Athletic topped Maribor, 3-1, at the DW Stadium
 in the club's first European encounter.
 Gonzalo  Rodr?guez and  Massimo Ambrosini  led Serie  A's Fiorentina  to a  2-1
 victory  over Dnipro  Dnipropetrovsk  in  Group E,  while  Portugal's Pacos  de
 Ferreira battled Prandurii to a 1-1 draw.
 German  side Eintracht Frankfurt cruised to a 3-0 win over APOEL in Group F and
 Israel's Maccabi Tel-Aviv pulled out a 2-1 result against Bordeaux.
 Julien  Gorius  and Jelle Vossen scored  second-half goals as Belgian club Genk
 topped  FC Thun  by a 2-1 score in  Group G, while Rapid Vienna and Dynamo Kiev
 played to a 2-2 draw.
 In  Group H,  Liberec snuck  past Estoril,  2-1, while  La Liga  outfit Sevilla
 scored twice in the second half to beat Freiburg by a 2-0 count.
 Lyon  and  Guimaraes played to  a 1-1 draw  in Group I,  as did Rijeka and Real
 Betis.  Group J's action saw Apollon Limassol earn a 1-0 win over Legia Warsaw,
 while  Turkish  side Trabzonspor and  Serie A club Lazio  battled to a wild 3-3
 Tottenham  earned  a 2-0  win over Anzhi  in Group K,  while Tromso and Sheriff
 Tiraspol finished level at 1-1. In Group L, Shakhtar Karagandy and Maccabi
 Haifa finished even at 2-2, while AZ Alkmaar and PAOK ended 1-1.
