CFL Game Summary - Saskatchewan at Hamilton

(Saturday, July 16th)

Final Score: Hamilton 33, Saskatchewan 3

Hamilton, ON (Sports Network) - Kevin Glenn found Chris Williams for two scores through the air, highlighting the Hamilton Tiger-Cats' 33-3 drubbing of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Glenn ended with 203 yards on 19-of-31 passes for Hamilton (1-2), which got four field goals from Justin Medlock in the rout.

"They played loose. They didn't sweat the mistakes," Tiger-Cats head coach Marcel Bellefeuille said. "It doesn't matter who you play, when you have success it brings confidence."

Darian Durant was replaced under center after throwing three interceptions for the Roughriders (0-3), who lost their opening three games of the season for the first time since 2000.

Hamilton scored 26 points combined in losses to Winnipeg and Edmonton to open the season, but got plenty of production in Saturday's victory.

Medlock hit field goals of 11, 42 and 43 yards in the opening quarter, and Glenn found Williams on a quick slant for a five-yard score less than two minutes into the second frame to extend Hamilton's lead to 16-0.

After another quick Saskatchewan possession, Glenn took the Tiger-Cats on a 66-yard drive that ended in Williams' 13-yard TD grab.

Bo Smith's interception midway through the third set up Marcus Thigpen's five- yard TD run before Eddie Johnson's 50-yard field goal spoiled Hamilton's chance at a shutout later in the frame.

Medlock added his fourth field goal -- a 35-yarder -- to cap the scoring in the final quarter.

"We got our hats handed to us," said Roughriders first-year head coach Greg Marshall. "I told the guys at halftime if they aren't embarrassed by their performance they're in the wrong business ... We have lots of areas to get better at."
