CFL Game Summary - Saskatchewan at British Columbia

Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - Buck Pierce threw for 215 yards on 26-of-34 efficiency with a touchdown and an interception to lead the British Columbia Lions in a 35-20 victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Martell Mallett gained 99 yards on 17 carries with a score on the ground, and added 22 yards on five catches with a score through the air for the Lions, who snapped a two-game slide to move to 2-4 on the year. Paris Jackson had eight catches totaling 92 yards in the win.

Darian Durant garnered 189 yards on 10-of-19 passing with two TDs and as many picks for the 'Riders, who have dropped three of four to fall to 3-3 on the year. Chris Szarka had a one-yard TD run and Rob Bagg tallied 120 yards with two scores on five grabs.

The teams traded touchdowns in the first quarter and it was 7-7 heading to the second.

Saskatchewan then made it 14-7 as Durant hit Bagg for a 33-yard TD strike with about 9 1/2 minutes left.

A safety, a field goal by Sean Whyte and touchdown on a botched punt -- returned by O'Neil Wilson -- made it 19-14 in favor of B.C. at the break.

Whyte hit a pair of field goals in the third quarter, and nailed a 33-yarder in the fourth to make it 28-14 with just under 14 1/2 minutes left.

Szarka had a one-yard TD run to cut it to 28-20 with just under a minute left, but Mallett capped a two-play, 43-yard drive with a 13-yard TD run to account for the final margin.

Game Notes

Next week, the Lions take on Toronto, while host Hamilton...Whyte made all four of his field goal attempts.
