Final Score: Louisiana Tech 70, Idaho 28

Ruston, LA (Sports Network) - Kenneth Dixon erupted for six touchdowns and 232 yards rushing as the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs pounded the Idaho Vandals 70-28 in a Western Athletic Conference matchup at Joe Aillet Stadium.

With the six scores, Dixon now has 16 rushing touchdowns this season which breaks the single-season record for a Louisiana Tech (6-1, 1-0 WAC) freshman. Colby Cameron threw for 400 yards and two scores on 29-of-37 passing and Myles White hauled in six passes for 100 yards and a score. There were 12 different players that recorded a reception for the Bulldogs.

Dominique Blackman threw for 199 yards on 20-of-35 passing with a touchdown and two interceptions for Idaho (1-7, 1-2). Mike Scott caught seven passes for 71 yards and Najee Lovett had four receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown.

The scoring got off to a blindingly fast start with Louisiana Tech leading 14-7 less than three minutes into the game.

First Dixon scored on a one-yard run after Idaho lost a fumble on the opening kickoff. The Bulldogs struck again less than a minute later when Dixon scored on a two-yard run.

On the second play of Idaho's ensuing drive, Roman Runner completed a 58-yard touchdown pass to Lovett.

The scoring barrage continued when Ray Holley scored on a five-yard run to put Louisiana Tech up 21-7.

Todd Handley then returned the ensuing kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown as Idaho kept pace early.

Dixon scored for the third time in the quarter on the Aggies' next possession, this time on a one-yard run, after which Louisiana Tech led 28-14.

Cameron threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Quinton Patton to cap off a 10-play, 85-yard drive just before the end of the first quarter.

Cameron tossed another touchdown pass, this time a 36-yard strike to White, early in the second quarter.

Dixon found the end zone again, this time from seven-yards out as the Bulldogs continued to pour it on.

A one-yard rushing touchdown from James Baker ended the Bulldogs' scoring run and put the Vandals' deficit at 49-21.

Yet again Dixon made his way into the end zone on a two-yard run with a little over three minutes before the half.

In the second half Dixon ran for a touchdown for the sixth time in the game, this time from 20 yards out, as the Bulldogs continued to pile it on.

Finally someone other than Dixon scored when Zach Griffith scored on a three- yard run late in the third quarter. After that score the Bulldogs lead ballooned to 70-21.

Blackman threw a one-yard touchdown pass to Michael LaGrone midway through the fourth quarter but it would not be nearly enough.

The 70 points scored by Louisiana Tech was a most in the game by the Bulldogs since 1998. The Bulldogs' 839 yards of total offense was a school record and the most by an FBS team this season.
