(Wednesday, November 21st)

Final Score: Georgia State 75, South Alabama 73

Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Manny Atkins and R.J. Hunter each established career-high point totals to lead Georgia State to a 75-73 win over South Alabama in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic finale at GSU Sports Arena.

Atkins poured in 26 points on 8-of-11 shooting and Hunter finished with 25 points, 14 of which came in the final 13 minutes, as the Panthers (3-2) completed the three-day tournament with an unbeaten record.

South Alabama (2-3) dropped to 0-3 for the event despite a career-best 31- point effort from Augustine Rubit, who also pulled down 11 rebounds in the loss. Xavier Roberson added 12 points in defeat.

After the Jaguars put together a 12-2 run capped by a Javier Carter layup that tied the contest at 49-49 with 13:26 left, Hunter knocked down 3-pointers on back-to-back possessions to put Georgia State ahead to stay.

The Jaguars trailed 74-67 with 1:30 left before a pair of triples by Roberson cut the deficit to one with 35 seconds to go, and South Alabama had one last chance to tie or win after Hunter made just 1-of-2 foul shots in the final seconds.

However, Mychal Ammons' jumper just before the final buzzer failed to find the net.
