(Wednesday, January 16) Final Score: South Carolina 82, LSU 73 (OT) Baton Rouge, LA (Sports Network) - Michael Carrera recorded a double-double with a game-high 23 points as the South Carolina Gamecocks defeated the LSU Tigers, 82-73, in overtime during a SEC matchup at the Maravich Center. Carrera came off the bench to contribute 10 rebounds and 9-of-10 from the free-throw line for the Gamecocks (11-5, 1-2 SEC). Lakeem Jackson also recorded a double-double scoring 11 points with 11 boards. Brenton Williams and RJ Slawson scored 16 and 11 points, respectfully, as South Carolina snapped a two-game losing streak. For the Tigers (9-5, 0-3), Anthony Hickey scored a team-high 18 points with seven rebounds. Charles Carmouche chipped in 13 points and five assists as LSU fell to a three-game losing streak. Despite LSU starting out the game on a 9-4 run, South Carolina would battle back to a, 35-33 advantage at the half. Two made foul shots by Brenton Williams with a minute and 16 seconds left, knotted the game at 69-69 and with neither team able to score in the final minute the game went to overtime. South Carolina was 2-of-4 from the floor and 9-of-10 from the foul line in overtime, while limiting LSU to 22.2 percent from the floor including 0-of-6 from beyond the arc.
