In the second half, the Seminoles battled all the way back and took the lead, 53-51, with 4:05 left after a 3-point play by White. Florida State extended its lead to eight with 1:07 left, but Maryland went on a run to make it just a one-point game 11 seconds left to play. A free throw by Snaer put the Seminoles up by two, and Allen's go-ahead 3-point attempt for Maryland was no good. White added one more free throw to close out the game.

Maryland turned the ball over 18 times, which led to 13 points for Florida State. The Seminoles also earned 15 points at the free throw line, while Maryland scored 10 at the stripe.
