Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - TrayVonn Wright posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the North Dakota State Bison over the UMKC Kangaroos, 63-44, in a Summit League tilt at Municipal Auditorium.
For the Bison (13-3, 4-0 Summit), Taylor Braun added 14 points and Marshall Bjorklund chipped in 11 points.
Estan Taylor led the Kangaroos (4-12, 1-4) with 10 points.
NDSU shot 48 percent from the field to open the contest, helping the Bison to a 28-19 lead at the break. UMKC made just 37.5 percent of its field goal attempts in the half but did outscore the Bison 5-1 at the free-throw line.
In the second half, the Bison were able to connect on just 40 percent of their field goal tries, missing all but one of their nine 3-point attempts. The Kangaroos shooting woes continued, as they hit on just 29.2 percent from the field and just 1-of-6 from beyond the 3-point arc. Leading just seven midway through the half, the Bison scored 16 unanswered points to take complete control of the contest, as they won their fifth straight.
The Bison dominated down low, outscoring the Kangaroos in the paint, 40-18. The Bison also had a 37-25 rebounding edge for the game.
