NCAA Game Summary - Dayton vs. Boston College
(Friday, November 16th)
Final Score: Dayton 87, Boston College 71
Charleston, SC (Sports Network) - Dyshawn Pierre netted a game-high 23 points as Dayton downed Boston College, 87-71, in the second segment of the Charleston Classic.
Devin Oliver added 17 points and eight rebounds while Jalen Robinson tallied 15 for the Flyers (2-1), who saw Kevin Dillard contribute 14 and Vee Sanford total 10 with eight boards and six assists.
Joe Rahon poured in 16 points for the Eagles (1-2). Ryan Anderson had 14 points and eight rebounds and Patrick Heckmann scored 13 in a losing cause.
As in their loss to Baylor on Thursday, the Eagles played well in the first half, only to see their opponent kick it into gear after a sluggish start.
BC led 19-14 just over 7 1/2 minutes in, but Dayton surged ahead for good with a 15-4 run. Robinson started it with three straight buckets, then an Oliver lay-in gave the Flyers a 24-23 edge with 5:29 on the clock, and Pierre followed with a triple and a deuce to make it 29-23.
Oliver later connected on another easy shot to send Dayton to the locker room ahead 37-26.
Another early push in the second half saw the Flyers open up a 53-38 advantage, thanks to another Pierre make from beyond the arc. Boston College failed to make a charge from there.
