New York, NY (Sports Network) - John Shurna poured in 26 points to lead the Northwestern Wildcats to a 92-61 victory over the St. Francis-NY Terriers at the Madison Square Garden Holiday Festival in New York City.
Drew Crawford added 25 points for Northwestern (8-0) and also finished with eight assists and nine rebounds in the win.
Travis Nichols scored a career-high 19 points for St. Francis-NY (6-4), which saw its five-game winning streak come to an end. Dre Calloway added 14 points for the Terriers, while Akeem Bennett posted 11 points.
The Wildcats went into the break with a 45-31 lead, thanks in large part to a 16-2 run midway through the opening half.
Northwestern used another strong run in the second stanza, and this time it was a 14-2 margin that helped the Wildcats earn the easy win.
Northwestern shot 50.7 percent in the contest and that included a 10-of-22 showing from long range.
